Intergalactic Warriors #4

Tiffany's Warrior

Rate this book
The Gharian thinks he's disguised and maybe he is to the aliens surrounding us.
But I see who he really is.

The Vadhmoshi took me from Earth ages ago and sold me to the Kostans. I spent my time being the government's lackey. I did everything the Kostans wouldn't do and the various robots couldn't. In exchange, they kept me comfortable, if at a distance. Not a bad life, considering I'm in captivity.

But now with the glut of freshly abducted people from home, everyone thinks I'm one of the Earth experts able to corral and contain them. I'm not and I don't want to be. I've been secretly communicating with the Gharian empire, feeding them information until a virus wipes out my ability. Adrift in a sea of people, I continue on until he arrives. A man pretending to be a Kosta/Ghar hybrid when I can clearly tell he's all Gharian. I’d forgotten how drop dead gorgeous Gharians are and when my system says we’re a romantic match?

I won't expose his cover but will expect his help in setting me free from here.

He leans forward, pulling me closer to him. “Ah, Tiffany. You can trust me with your life, I promise.”

OMG! This was SUCH a great book. We are on an alien planet where humans are thought of not much more than livestock. Tiffany, abducted as a young teen, has had a hard life on this alien world but when her current owner ends up owning a human stable, she finds herself face to face with combative humans. They think she's a tratior while she does everything in her power to keep the hardships that she endured from them. That's when Valtar arrives on the scene. Posing as a hybred alien Valtar is there undercover to document the humans so they can be set free. Well, as free as someone who knows there are aliens can be free. There's no going back to nieve Earth but there is still hope.

***Spoiler Alert***
Tiffany and Valtar hit it off in a phenomenal way. She sees right through his flimsy cover story. Attention to detial is what has kept her safe for all these years and she pokes so many holes in Valtar's cover story he's a sunk ship. What neither expected was the be matched, meaning that they are mates to the fullest degree!

Valtar struggles to keep to the mission at hand so when it's time for him to move on, Tiffany finally calls him on his lies. Promises are sacred to Gharians but Valtar cannot help but promise her he'll be back for her.

Distracted by Valtar, their epic love, and getting too comfortable amongst the humans, Tiffany is attacked and it is their mating bond and his unwavering love that pulls her through. Unfortunately, the attack has caught the attention of the 2nd most powerful alien on the planet.

We get a chameo appearance from Cinq, which I think is TOTALLY awesome plus we get insight into Commander Tia and Chuck's relationship. I love the gossip!!

When Plarn, the second in command, finally meets Tiffany he finds her completely addictive. Which is great news for a slave, not so great for a mate. Valtar goes for undercover visit which they use for an attack!

When the Gharian Emperor declairs war, he gives Tiffany a coded heads up and she is able to get out of Dodge as the Gharians attack and rescue the humans.

We get a StarWars worthy, full planetary attack and you know who's there to make sure his woman is safe? You guessed it, Valtar is there to rescue her, just as he promised.

This books has it all! I laughed, there were some tender moments, and lots of excitement! Don't miss out on this amazing book!

In this book, the villains are the humans and I dont know what to think.

Tiffany has a controversial job. To put it nicely, African Americans and Native Americans have a word for it and it is not nice. From the very beginning, I was unable to see the captured humans as the villains they could sometimes be in her story.

By chapter 14, I was downright uncomfortable. However, i began to enjoy it more when i realized their was a thematic scenario here similar to another more renowned book. With more thought, I found myself comparing the similar thematic notes to the widely successful novel, Dawn by Octavia Butler. The heroine is arguably more likeable and you end up hating all the humans for demeaning her. When ostensibly all she's trying to do is save their lives. But when the theatrics is peeled away and you're left with the bare bones truth, like in this novel. I'm left to wonder how reasonable it EVER is too.... kidnap a human, have another strange human they don't know wake them and oversee them (for their good), and the consolation is....It could be worst. Without giving them the chance to decide whether they might just prefer their chances with worse. Not everyone wants to be herded into a pig pen like sheep. Some would prefer to die trying. In both books, the human overseer has decided for an entire race of people that they know best. Thats not how freedom works. Especially if you still want to be the hero of this story. Any person or alien like thing that denies a human freedom of choice is an enslaver and thus Tiffany is no better than the aliens, bringing me back to my thoughts in the first paragraph.

I gave this a four rounded up because I did enjoy reading it and it gave me a chance to rethink some things. I also enjoyed the ending and the world building. I would certainly read more from this author. My favorite peeks into the world was Chuck and his mate and the Gharian, King and Queen, those dynamics while brief were really interesting.

Perfect!!!

Tiff and Val really had to work hard to get their happily ever after!!
I love how the author went into more detail about life on Kostas for humans who weren't new to that planet.
I really look forward to reading more in this series. I love it when new-to-me authors meet my expectations and even exceed them!!

Lots of errors, sloppy writing, and chunks of lost time.
Interesting concept, just all of the above took away from it.
