The AI Factor may have provided a structured framework for data-driven growth when it was writtern but reading it in 2026 feels like opening a time capsule. While her "AI Hierarchy of Needs" was foundational for its time, the rapid shift from predictive analytics to ubiquitous generative AI has turned these once-cutting-edge strategies into historical context.

Most techniques described are now automated or superseded by mainstream foundation models. It is a solid retrospective on the early enterprise AI mindset but it serves more as a history of how we got here than a manual for current implementation.

This book is a great introduction to what artificial intelligence (AI) is and how it is applied today in businesses of all industries, sizes, and funding profiles.
The author takes particular care in not getting into the technical detail of AI models, keeping the book relatively jargon free and easy to read. This approach particularly works nearing the end where speculations of where and how AI will evolve into the business environment of the future.
Certainly worth reading for anyone with even a fleeting interest in this fascinating subject.
