This book touches my heart in ways that other autobiographies have failed to do so.

Like Pete, I have Tourettes Syndrome. So I can relate and empathize with 80% of this book's subject.

I was diagnosed a lot earlier in life than Pete, at the age of 5. So, the teachers and my family knew why I was doing the things I was doing, and it wasn't as hard for me. He wasn't diagnosed until his teenage years though, so his teachers just thought he was misbehaving, and his family and friends of the family just thought he was mental.

I understand how he feels whilst most of this book takes place. There is a lot in here about being bullied because of being different and having Tourette's. It upset me quite a lot to read this, because it bought back memories of my childhood.

This book was brilliantly written, and is filled with just the right amount of humour to balance out the emotional side of things.

I recommend this to anybody who wants to learn more about Tourette's, and anybody who has, or knows somebody who suffers from Tourette's Syndrome.

It might seem strange to be reading an autobiog by an ex-Big Brother winner, but this has been a fascinating and at times horrifying insight into Tourette's Syndrome. Definitely worth the time.

enjoyable

For the most part I enjoyed this book, A personal gripe but I can’t stand it when people go off on mad tangents when reliving their drug experiences. It’s boring, like when someone tells you about a dream they had
Heartbreaking in parts, laugh out loud in others and fairly shocking as well. A real emotional rollercoaster. The ending is abrupt, I’ll need to Google if he ended up and is still with cherry. I hope so, I also hope he does a follow up with life after BB and Nikki 💕

I've been a fan of Big Brother for years now, and back in 2006 I did want Pete to win. I was 7 at the time and understandably cannot remember much of why I wanted him to win (I probably wouldn't if I was watching it afresh now to be honest) but when I found this in a local charity shop for 50p I couldn't resist. It wasn't that bad actually, it was fascinating learning about Pete's Tourette's Syndrome and his journey. Apart from that though I found it tedious and by the end I was rushing to finish it. Very little time dedicated to Big Brother which is fine as his journey with Tourette's is more noteworthy however a couple of pages was a bit little and I did hope for more about what it's like to be in there.

Very easy to read. I love Pete, but I did find this book a bit tedious in places - I'm pretty sure he was filling space. Interesting though. I liked the psychedelic visions of madness.
