He killed his father. Now he expects to die in the cave. Alone. No one knows where he is. No one cares. The only thing that keeping him from falling apart is the sound of a heartbeat in the darkness, strong and there for him.

Paolo killed his father, the head of the ruthless Acierno Mafia family, and fled the family home. Now he’s been kidnapped and held hostage, but he doesn’t know who kidnapped him or why. All he knows is he expects to die, alone in a cave.
Tiger’s tired of doing protection detail for Z-list celebrities and stroppy teenage kids of politicians. He’s also exhausted, his dreams full of cold and pain and a faint heartbeat reaching out to him.
Then he’s offered an assignment by Nico Acierno, the Prince of Darkness, to find his missing twin brother. He doesn’t want to take the assignment, but he’d like to sleep again without these dreams.
Will Tiger find Paolo before it’s too late?

This book was a bit better than the first but I feel like towards the last 5% of the book there was a major editing issue. Within the last two minutes of the book there were two random jumps were it feels like a whole event was missing. Throughout the book the author was really good about placing different markers when they were scene shifts but in one paragraph the two MC‘s we’re about to be intimate and at the start of the next paragraph Paolos brother is judging his leg.

Other than that editing issue the book was a solid three stars. It was a decent mafia book but I feel like it could’ve been a bit darker. Overall pretty good read if you’re in the mood for a daddy mafia romance with almost no angst.

4.25 stars. This was a great read. It started dark, Paolo is trapped in a cave, at his last strength, the one who gives him food comes lesser, he’s starving. The only thing that keeps him alive is the sound of a heartbeat.

Nico is now the head of the Acierno mafia family after his twin Paolo killed their father. Paolo is missing for months now.

While it’s not Tiger’s regular job, he seems the right man to find Paolo, he sleeps bad and there’s always a faint heartbeat present, not his.

Paolo is traumatized, more dead than alive. He only trusts one man, Tiger his savior, the man’s heartbeat gives him peace. Paolo doesn’t want to open his eyes to face a life where Nico and the Acierno family want him dead. His bodyguard Tiger is the big protective wall keeping all the bad things away.

Tiger doesn’t leave Paolo’s side, he’s protective af, takes care of him, the boy depends on him to keep him safe, but there are still people who want him dead

While the start was quite dark further on in the story it got all a bit sweeter. Tiger and Paolo are awesome together. The big protective Daddy vibes coming from Tiger were delicious to watch.
Watching Paolo heal was heartbreaking, there was nothing left of him.
The mafia aspect was present but not too much, it was about Tiger as Daddy and Paolo who finally accepts he’s a boy who desperately wants Tiger as his Daddy.

The author’s writing is attractive, it’s focused, and clear, with no distractions from the main course, I love that. The characters are engaging, even the dark sides are lovable.
I enjoyed this read, maybe it was a bit less impressive than the first one, but still a good addition. Just like the previous one it’s hugely entertaining, I couldn’t put it down and had to read until I reached the end. Thank goodness a satisfying one!
Can’t wait for Dark Haven!

Paolo killed his father who was the head of their Mafia family but has now been kidnapped and is being held hostage somewhere. No one seems to know where he is and the only thing keeping him going is the heartbeat he gets coming through strong in the darkness. Whatever happens, he expects to die alone and in a cave. Tiger is tired of doing protection detail for lots of Z-list celebrities or teenage kids of politicians plus he is exhausted with the heartbeat that stops him from sleeping. Then Nico Acierno, the Prince of Darkness, offers him an assignment- he needs to find his twin brother Paolo before it is too late.

I really enjoyed this story with the slightly psychic phenomena of heartbeats. I loved the way that things were not as they appeared at the end of the previous book in the series. Tiger was a real Daddy who was totally focused on caring for the person who was in his care and it was so touching to see the way that he tried his best to live within this moral code but in the end, found a way to compromise for love. I was relieved when everything was sorted out and a way forward was found that enabled Tiger and Paolo to be together caring for each other. Easy to read and understand. Contains mature content of a BDSM type with a DDLB relationship.

Dark Secret is book 2 in the Darker Daddy Bodyguard series, but it can be read as a standalone, which is what I did.

Paolo flees away from his home after killing his father and then he is kidnapped. After months of looking for him to no avail, his twin brother, Nico, hires Tiger to help him find his brother and bring him back home.

I felt so bad for Paolo and all he had to endure during his captivity and then his recovery. I was glad he could count on Tiger to be there for him, especially because Paolo couldn't be sure he could trust anyone else, not even his twin. I loved how tender Tiger was with him. He was exactly what Paolo needed. They had amazing chemistry and I adored them together.

I really enjoyed this book, I liked how Nico and Paolo handled the family and how different they behaved behind closed doors with their daddies and I'm already looking forward to more. Recommendable!

Sue Brown has done it again, only better. Dark Heart starts the series about Nico, Paolo, their father, the Dom of the Acierno family. This series is darker than the Biker Daddy series and has more grit and grime. Paolo is kidnapped and in the darkness his sanity and will to live starts by hearing heartbeats that aren't his own. Tiger is usually a babysitter bodyguard and not usually assigned to finding people. But he can't sleep and he feels cold like he's in a cave and he hears heartbeats that aren't his. Nico is frantic to find his twin brother and he hires Tiger to find Paolo and bring him home.

Twists and turns in the story kept me reading well past midnight. As the Daddy/boy dynamics build between Paolo and Tiger, threats build up within the Acierno family and rival mafia families.

I can hardly wait for Finn's book. Book 3, Dark Haven in Darker Daddy Bodyguards is sure to be another favorite of mine too!

I received an ARC of this book and am voluntarily leaving a review.

Paulo definitely intrigued me. He seemed like the perfect next in command to their father but when he pulled his stunt at the end of the last book, I knew there had to be more to him. Please don’t read this book if you haven’t read Dark Heart. Now he needs his own Daddy to save him. I loved how Ward would admit that he has a huge problem with the mafia family and the stuff that goes down but he is willing to try and adjust his opinions when he realizes Paulo is his boy. The other choice, being without him, wasn’t an option. They call him Tiger, but he is really more of a teddy bear. I am also very curious as to what Quinn wants with the Aciernos and why he has/wants men inside. There is still very much going on that we don’t have the answers to yet. I really did enjoy this book, not quite as must have as the first one, but it was still good and worth a read.

What a great mix of mafia and Daddy kink.

Dark secret is about Paolo, who killed his father, the Dom of his family and Tiger, a professional bodyguard. After he killed his father, Paolo is afraid of the revenge of his bother. When he‘s kidnapped he thinks it’s done on the order of his twin who is leading now the family. Nico is searching his twin and for that he asks Tiger to do as there seems to be a connection between the three of them. Tiger has success and finds Paolo, but he‘s very down because of living months in a cage in the caves. Tiger is taken care of Paolo from the moment he finds him and will not let him get out of his eyes as long as he’s not healthy.

Follow the way of these both to their HEA. The story is a great mix of a little. It of crime, mafia and Daddy kin.

Im looking forward to the next book in the series.

I had the luck to get an ARC to read.

The second book in the Biker Daddy Bodyguards series is just as great and as better as the first. Paolo killed his father after he realized that he put out hit on his twin brother because of his sexuality. Paolo left but was kidnapped in the process by an unknown source. Tiger is hired to find before it's too late. There is a deep connection between these and the moment they meet each other you can see the attraction they have between them. Tiger is such a sweetheart and he's also a daddy. Once he finds Paolo it was hard for him to allow anyone to take care of him. The book is dark, sweet, sexy, and very emotional and once I started reading it I couldn't put it down. It's also action-packed and Nico showed everyone who is the king of the mob. I'm looking forward to the next book in this series.

This series is about the Acierno Mafia family. This book takes over where book one, Secret Heart leaves off. With Paolo killing his father in self defense. Paolo and his twin, Nico, don't get along. He runs and disappears. Nico and Leon, his Daddy, hire Ward Tiger to find Paolo. The only connection Nico and Tiger have is they both hear or feel this faint heartbeat. Will Paolo survive this kidnapping and trauma? Will Tiger find him in time? Will they find out who's behind the kidnapping?
I love this series and I'm thankful there's two more books to look forward to reading. Sue Brown knows just the right amount of "sitting on the edge of your seat" angst to balance with the Daddy/Boy dinamic.

This story surprised me. Paolo was on the run after he kills his father and then he is kidnapped and put into a cage in a cave and barely survives the 4 month ordeal. Tiger rescues him and takes care of him and nurtured him. Paolo was sure his brother, Nico, will kill him when he is better and Tiger who has become his daddy vows to protect him. What surprised me was how much of the story dealt with Paolo's recovery both physical and mental and how much he had changed from before and how he and Nico become closer and I loved that the most. It was interesting when they found the kidnapper and you knew they would kill him and Tiger couldn't deal with it and Leon tells him he has to learn to or he must leave. Looking forward to the next book.

Dark Secret is book two in the Darker Daddy Bodyguards series, Acierno Mafia family. I think this is the darkest series I’ve read by this author and I’m absolutely loving it! I loved Nico and Leon in Dark Heart, but Paolo and Tiger stole that place in my heart. Nico’s twin is missing, and Leon asks Paolo to find him. Paolo ran and disappeared after killing his father. Nico and Tiger both think or feel a faint heartbeat. Paolo ends up kidnapped and its up to Tiger to find him in time. I’m seriously loving this series and cannot wait to read more of it. Overall, a fantastic read, well written with great pacing.

I was anxiously awaiting this book to see what happened with Paolo. The books starts with him being caged in the caves. Leon tasked Ward Tiger to find him. After months of searching, they finally got a break. Tiger found him and brought him home to recover. This started their relationship as they slowly built it up. Great chemistry and looking forward to reading Finn’s book.

I received a copy of this book for my review.

Good

I skipped the first one in the series and while it would have been nice to have that background information I didn't need it to follow or enjoy this one. I could have used more hesitation on P's part on being gay and a boy, he seemed pretty go with the flow with it all. But Tiger seems like he'd make a good Daddy even if he was a little wishy-washy with the whole being part of the Mafia thing.

I really enjoyed this book and Tiger/Paolo relationship it was really cute. However just like the first book it felt like it was going too fast, the timing didn’t make sense. How in the span of a few hours they fell in love…
I still like their connection and well it’s a work of fiction so anything can happen but yeah apart from that it was a great book. We saw more of Nico and Leon which was nice and Nico and Paolo worked their relationship.
Ps: Tiger Im watching you, you better not be indecisive again.

There are still lots of things in this world that we as readers still don't know and this book answers some questions while still dropping tantalizing hints about what's to come. Here, we have Paolo and Ward's story as Paolo tries to escape his fate after killing his father and Ward finds and rescues him. A great mix of darkness and just the hint of light.

Dark Secret is the second book in the Darker Daddy Bodyguards serie by Sue Brown. Darker Daddy Bodyguards is a sequel to the Biker Daddy Bodyguards serie. This book is the story of Tiger and Paolo. Paolo is kidnapped and Tiger is hired to find him. I really liked their story. It was sweet, sexy, thrilling and very well written.

With Paolo disappearing after saving his twin, Nico enlists the help of Tiger to locate Paolo.
The sound of the heartbeat ties them all together and it’s up to Tiger to find Paolo before time runs out.

With themes of hurt/comfort, this was a softer story as we see a gentle Daddy find his boy. There are moments of action, danger and steamy scenes to make this an entertaining read.

Read with KU

This book is the second in the series, it made me cry. Poor boy kills his father to save his twin then locked in hell. I loved this book, finding the twin to twin link when it was most needed was genius.

The mafia twins have finally found each other, together they are strong. I’m not a big lover of daddies books but I do like the one from this author.

Off to read the next one.

Another charming, romantic, and sexy book in the Darker Daddy Bodyguards world. An interesting exploration of the balance of power in the family and in private. I like the idea that one thing can tie two people together, no matter how far apart they are. But is any relationship strong enough to overcome fundamental truths and beliefs?

This series has all the elements that I love in this trope - care and communication, possessiveness and protectiveness, heat and a ton of action. Paolo and Tiger are somehow connected and their relationship develops through Paolo’s kidnapping and subsequent rescue. The way Tiger takes care of Paolo is lovely and absolutely wonderful. Great series.

Thank you for the ARC read, I voluntarily give this book an honest review. When mixing up jobs is going to be the undoing. Working for a mob boss wasn't a to do list on Tiger radar. When Leon asks for him concerning Nico's missing twin, drawing him in to a even bigger mystery on a wild connection between Tiger, a feral tabby and a lonesome heartbeat. Going from just a spoil brat babysitting, to finding mission. Is Tiger up for the job of seek and find Paolo alive.
Daddy Tiger comes out in full force, only taking care of Paolo more challenging then foreseen. Is the writting on the walls here, is it a dead end with Tigers falling for his boy whom is needs a daddy. It seems someone is making moves, to topple the power structure. Strong feelings, is Tiger ready for all that comes with being in the Acierno family.

Tiger gets in way over his head when he rescues Paolo and wants to keep him safe. I was glad that the brothers are now getting the chance to really know each other and be more of a family. It was good that Paolo was able to be the person he wants to be instead of the person his father has been trying to groom for years. Tiger has to put aside his fears to keep his place by Paolo's side.

I liked this one better than the first in this spin-off series. We get to meet Nick's twin Pao!o after he shoot his father and was kidnapped. Not sure where the "heartbeat" can in to play in the storyline but I'll let it go. Overall good read.

Tiger and Paolo

Tiger finds Paolo in a cave where he was kept after his kidnapping. As Tiger heals Paolo back to health he has to learn how to deal with mafia justice. There was questions that needed to be answered, who kidnapped Paolo and how will Nico and Paolo handle it.
