My preteen daughter and I have been reading the triolgy together. Its been so much fun to have these novels to bond over. These books really are perfect for the advanced preteen reader all the way to age 99! This novel is incredibly well-written with great story development. We were really looking forward to this final book in the trilogy. We loved the way the author concluded this triology although we were sad to say goodbye to these characters who have become so real to us. My 12 year old daughter (who is an advanced reader) really enjoyed that the book had many twists and turns in the piot. As a mom, I enjoyed having a fantasy novel that was exciting and challenging, but didn't include any inapporpriate material for the younger reader. I loved seeing my daughter's nose stuck in the book as she could not put it down. We both agree this is the best novel yet from Michael Webb! She is even planning on being a Shadow Knight for Halloween!

The third and final book of the Shadow Knight trilogy is an epic conclusion to a great series. The first two books were great, but this one digs deeper to develop more complex characters and a more thoroughly explored fantasy world. The climax scene masterfully weaves in predictable developments we've been waiting for and exciting surprises to keep the reader spellbound. The Shadow of Destiny will thrill anyone who appreciates good fantasy and an exciting storyline--including young and "regular" adults.

I really enjoyed this book as I have the first two in the series. That’s appropriate, isn’t it—to really enjoy a well written adventure. That seems to be one of the aims of this series—the enjoyment of the readers. There are lessons of morality, humility, and perseverance here. But mainly there is enjoyment.
This third book was a good ending to the first three in the six book series. I think I’ll move to other reads I have in my overrun Kindle library. But I will definitely come back and finish those three.

For those who have followed the story thus far, this instalment will leave you just as warm and fuzzy as the previous ones. Veron. finally reconciled with his father, must now take on Bale and his evil empire. I am NOT going to spoil it for you, dear reader, except to say, enjoy the ride. Like all great roller coasters, the journey starts off slowly and tips you from side to side a little, then, hold on for the rush!

My favorite of the trilogy. I couldn’t put it down, even forgot I was reading at a couple points. Hold onto something because this book is a wild ride in the best possible way!

I couldn’t wait for this book to come out, and I was not disappointed! The plot twists and turns were so fun and kept me up reading way too late at night. This writer keeps on getting better and better!

4,5 ⭐️

This is the last book of the trilogy and Veron knows that, according to the prophecy, he needs no defeat Bale. But before that he finds something that makes him wish just to lead a life as a regular citizen and not have this burden.Duty calls and the future of Terrenor depends on the last Shadow Knight.

💭 I loved how the story ended and what happened to each character (almost every one of them LOL, you’ll know when you read it). The fight scenes were great and I loved how important Morgan is, even if he can’t fight and all. Every character, Chelci, Brixton, Chelci’s friends, her brother, they all have their own importance and the story wouldn’t have been the same without them 🙃 I think the parts without dialogue could’ve been a bit shorter, but that didn’t stop the book from being awesome!😍

Devolving

What started as an excellent series with the first two books, book 3 hit the skids with a predictable, sappy plot line which I found to be akin to a feel good children’s book. The writing itself is good but the plot became bogged down with the repetitious “capture ,escape, or rescue” sequences, plus an inordinate amount of inane conversation which is mostly page filler. I had to limp to the finish line with great disappointment.

terrible finish to the series.

So cheesy and predictable. The first two books were much better. Very disappointed with how the series ended. I needed up skipping 60% of the book just so I could read the end because I couldn’t take how bad some of the dialogue was.

So this series is definitely worth a read but man we’re there plot holes upon plot holes in this last book. First the inconsistently of the origine and it’s length sure does not make a lot of sense!

The attack on Nasco, William and Veron really couldn’t take care of the that group of soldiers by themselves? Blah blah that didn’t want to give away they were there, so they just let countless innocent people die?

They knocked out the soldiers at the inn then decide to just leave the horses they could have just taken and traveled faster? That makes ZERO sense!!!

The predictable proposal interruptions were pointless and led to an anticlimactic proposal…

During the last battle, Veron is slaying people left and right but someone is able to put an anklet on him?

Like I said overall the story is great and makes you want to keep reading, pure story wise I would say this book is 5 stars, but the baffling decisions made through out make you frustrated because it portrays Veron as being an idiot… They make him so smart in some ways and street dumb others when he should be street smart with how he grew up!

3 Stars.

The story itself was good enough to keep me reading through the trilogy, despite the predictability of it all. And to add to the predictability, the foreshadowing with “dreams” didn’t help. It was also never explained well or didn’t really seem to fit well with the lore of the world-building that was going on.

Though my biggest issue with this book was the often weak or cheesy dialogue, which left me feeling like I was reading a children’s book at times.

I will take a break from this series and see if my interest returns after reading something else.

To leave on a brighter note - this author shows promise. The ideas are there, and the pacing was great at some points. In the end this just fell a bit flat for me.

A bit of a plod this one & definitely felt that the author only had enough material for 2.5 books so needed some padding. I mean where's the suspense when the first attempt on the bad guy is only a quarter into the book? Hardly surprising that something happens! There were also a couple of bits where I felt a paragraph or a few sentences had disappeared as the next one made no sense to the previous one. The finale was good, apart from the surprise, "Blind Pew" could see what was coming. I also felt that the finale was the first time I felt that I was reading a tee/YA book, it was all a bit childishly simplistic.
Hint of a following Trilogy coming in '23, but I won't read it.

Needed to finish it

I was excited to read this book after the first 2. I found this one lacking and I can't quiet put my finger on it. I really enjoyed the characters, but I just didn't like how Veron became so unsure after meeting his Dad. His character was so solid and ambitious and then his Dad became his crutch. I also felt Chisle SK was a boring twist. Felt like this should have been a 2 book series with Bael getting it at the of book 2 instead of 3. Not sure I am looking forward to the next trilogy but if I have time I will breeze through it. I do recommend reading this because I enjoyed the first 2 and needed to end the trilogy :)

This series was so good I really enjoyed it. Every single page, word, moment, all of it is really really good.

If you like, epic fantasy stories, this is a really good one, the whole series. Although I think there are two more books after the first three, but if you wanted, it could end here. I like this as a trilogy right now, because the other two books aren’t on audible.

If the next two books end up on audible, I will absolutely listen to them.

Tim Campbell is such a great narrator. He brings these characters life and everyone gets their own voice. It’s such a pleasure listening to him.

Michael Webb has created an interesting and compelling world. I felt that the trilogy holds together well and several surprises kept it interesting. This trilogy will make a good netflix series!
My 92 yr old mother read the first two and keeps asking me when I can get her the hard copy of Shadow of Destiny. She said "It's not my normal type of book but it is really hard to put down. I can't wait to read the Shadow of Destiny" My 14 year old granddaughter also enjoyed the first two. It is a little too bloody for my taste but enjoyable none-the-less.

Entertaining

For the most part the storyline was good and kept me engaged, although at times it is somewhat predictable. I enjoyed the characters from start to finish as they grew into themselves from book to book. One part of the books I believe could have been left out was the valcor. To me to much time was spent on it with very little meaning to the plot of the story. Overall I would recommend the trilogy. They are a good read! The next trilogy should be better with the experience of writing the first.

Shadow of Destiny

This is the 3rd book in the Shadow Knights Trilogy. While each of the books stand alone, the story would lose its power if read out of order. I thank Michael for numbering each book. This is a great help for those of us who buy a complete series at once.
I think this is one of the better fantasies. The characters are well developed. There are only a few truly evil people. The good people are realistic instead of “too good to be true”.
I hope you enjoy it as much as I did.

A story you can get lost in!

A few times in my life, I have hated for a story to end. Not because I did not want to see how it turned out, but because I had grown quite fond of the characters. I love stories of courage, of a determination to do the right thing - even when it seems the painful choice. The character - of the characters in this trilogy were most encouraging and true. The story ended, but the respect I have for the author did not. Well done Michael, well done. I look forward to more of your work to keep me encouraged!

For Veron and Chelci recovering and recuperating in the remote village where Chelsi got trained for the nightguards, is but a brief interlude as Terrenor is plunged into chaos and famine. Blake could not care less who dies and who does not as long as his egomania remains stroked.
The time for a certain prophecy as regards Blake and the Shadowknights is on hand and in need of fulfillment.
The ending certainly was a surprise and Shadow of Destiny certainly delivered a few twists that shocked.
Enjoy

This entire book was so action-packed! What a fantastic ending to this amazing trilogy! I love these characters, and I'm so happy with how this story ended. It's hard to say too much without spoilers, but if you love a good redemption arc, you'll love this. This entire series was just SO SO GOOD! I see book one of a secondary series in this world coming out in October, and I can't wait to read that as well!

Chelic became such an announce throughout the whole book 3. I couldn’t take it anymore so I dropped it. I wish they didn’t make her into a character where she has to always want to prove that she belongs and can fight with the men. Her own man “veron” CANT tell her what to do because she will immediately let it be known that she will “come along no matter what” if you like annoying, combative female characters then you’ll love chelci.

Awesome third book in the Shadow Knights series

Thoroughly enjoyable! It was easy to become immersed in The Shadow of Destiny. It evoked tears of joy and tears of Knights, it's a sign of a good book when it can make the characters come to life and seem real. I was sad when beloved characters died and bad things happened to good people. Hopefully, I will get to read any following stories about the Shadow !knights.

Bad...just bad

This is quite possibly the most frustrating read ive ever read. A character you so want to love...but the writing is so bad...imagine batman...but gullible naieve, stupid, and constantly making bad decisions with super powers when it doesnt matter, but "arrrgh...mybfriends and family and woman i love are aboit to die...curses ive lost my powers after killing 40 people a minute ago."

There is so much promise in the first book. The standard story of the street kid that takes advantage of opportunities. Intelligent, innovative, tough, quick study. But Vernon quickly becomes such a dufus and makes the same mistakes over and over again. Lack of foresight and constantly walking into the same mistakes book after book. Disappointing.

Good series

I love this series. Although I really don't like when the characters start acting stupid and things drag out. It just seemed to me that the trek to Daratil and the ensuing fight took forever. The stupid thing was going into the tent to get Bale. Gotta say though, only two complaints out of 3 books is good and I have preordered the 4th.

Well written book with a lot of exciting events. From living in the slums to building a life to hitting rock bottom, this is the way a Trilogy should go.
I’m so glad a book has a great ending then ends with a new spin. With the main characters unknowingly awaiting a new and dangerous foe.
I can’t wait till I read the next few instalments to find out how it turns out!
Great job Mr Webb!

Very disappointing

I was very unhappy with this book and was to upset to finish it. I was worried after the first two but liked the characters but to much is to much for me. I hope others get more entertainment for this than I did.
