Told from Mike's point of view, the reader is drawn into thinking the story is going to go a certain way, but as you'll know if you've ever read Todd's work, he is the King of the Twist!!
It starts off dark, yet serene, then heads down a disturbing and sinister route. With a steady tense build-up, and very descriptive imagery, this is a quick, yet tense and bloody read with a gratifying ending.
Todd always makes sure you get a jam-packed story, that never disappoints! 🖤🖤🖤🖤🖤
Usually I would tell a little bit about the story in my reviews, but for this one I feel it is best to go in completely blind. Love talks in his author’s notes afterward about how he wanted readers to believe the story was going in one direction before he blindsides you with a sucker punch, completely changing what you thought you were reading. Well, he pulled that off flawlessly. Hints and references were dangled in my face and I ignored them, thinking nothing of them. I continued on believing in the story Love wanted me to think I was reading, then BAM! I was hit with a freaking brick of a twist. Read the heck out of this, it’s a prime example of Todd Love’s talent of writing twists.
Well that was short brutal and totally not what I expected. This story starts off and pulls you in one direction then just slams you so hard on another direction that by the end you have whiplash. This was a pretty cool short read Todd Love never disappoints go to godless.com and get this one you won't regret it.
I have to skip a summary on this one. There is such a shocking twist, and I don’t want to spoil anything. You think you know how things will play out and that’s when it hits you. Great creepy setup! Another fabulous job by Love cramming so much gore and detail into a short story. Love is one of my one-click authors. I recommend all his work even the shorts. They all pack a punch. You can find them all on godless.com
Todd Twisty Love does it again. The upside/downside to flash fiction is that it’s always over too quickly, and saying anything about it would be a spoiler, which works in favour of Mr Misdirection.
"Fresh" by Todd Love. I was sent my copy in exchange for an honest review.
I was sent this story in exchange for an honest review. "Fresh" was very fast paced and eerily creepy. I was really intrigued by what was going on and wasn't expecting that ending. I really love Love's writing style and how he builds the story to the perfect climax before unleashing the utmost depravity. 4 🌟
