Nothing’s worse than being stabbed in the back by your first love…except being stabbed in the front too.
This short story occurs before the events of the Spectral Analysis Trilogy but is meant to be read between parts two and three. It is a stand-alone scary short story with a trigger warning.
Joanne Cook earned her M.A. in education from Sacramento State University and her B.S. in Biological Sciences from the University of California in Irvine. She has taught Chemistry and Physics for the past 20 years and is retired from the AF reserves. For half of her military service, she served as a C130 Navigator flying from Japan to Georgia to Alaska to the middle east and back again. She enjoys reading, writing, drawing and music.
This was a surprisingly good read, another precursor to the author's main novel that has recently been published. It does come with a trigger warning but given the title people should be able to work that out for themselves. I found the whole topic tastefully (??) covered without it being too over the top and found that it came across as totally believable - sad to say I have come across people exactly like this.(sans the stabbing, of course) It will be interesting to see how the main character gets over this tragedy and goes on to explore paranormal experiences. I look forward to being able to start the trilogy when I've saved my pennies! (Damn you rampant inflation!)
