So, funny stuff you guys, but I met my fated mate the other day, hooray! Thing is, she’s pregnant. I get it, she had a life before I met her; I’m excited to meet her baby and help raise them if she’ll have me. The only thing that bothers me is I’ve been wondering why anyone would abandon their pregnant omega. So, since I’m not a total idiot, I straight up asked her about the father instead of just randomly trying to start up a relationship with a woman who might be taken and obviously has a history.
But get this, she was totally perplexed! She said, “it’s your baby.” I said yeah, I mean I’m down to be the baby’s dad, but what about the dirtbag sperm donor?” She goes, “??? It’s you???? Did you hit your head or something?” I said What Are You Talking About, I just met you?? She goes, “umm we met like two months ago, you got shot by my horrible stepdad, ran off and never came back. You still have the scar. How do you not remember this?”
So I confronted my magic-wielding brother and he fessed up and said he did it to keep me safe, he figured my mate betrayed me to her stepdad and he didn’t want me to go back to her. My mate explained that the stepdad followed her, is a total jerk, and she doesn’t agree with him, and now we live happily ever after.
God, imagine if I hadn’t asked about the baby’s father though? Imagine if she hadn’t said anything about the fact that we know each other! We might’ve spent ages being super confused why the other one was standoffish! That would’ve made a really stupid plot for a book. 😅

Great story
I enjoyed this story and look forward to what comes next. I think this book needed one more run though with the edits. There were a few minor issues. That being said it wasn't enough to take away for my overall enjoyment of the story. I recommend that you add this to your TBR pile.

Dark, primal, and laced with revenge, First Blood is a wild ride through omegaverse territory with monstrous heat and emotional chaos. Naomi is a fierce, curvy heroine trapped in a world of sacrifice and fate, while the Beastman is all raw power and barely controlled instincts. Their bond is messy, intense, and shaped by rejection, secrets, and a deeply buried past. While the worldbuilding is intriguing and the monster romance angle delivers on its promise, the pacing feels uneven and some emotional turns land a bit abruptly. Still, for fans of dark paranormal romance with omegaverse heat and revenge-driven tension, this has all the bite and spice you'd expect.
