I am Misty Vixen (not my real name obviously), and I imagine that if you’re reading this, you want to know a bit more about me.
In the beginning (late 2014), I was an erotica author. I wrote about sex, specifically about human men banging hot inhuman women. Monster girls, alien ladies, paranormal babes. It was a lot of fun, but as the years went on, I realized that I was actually striving to be a harem author. This didn’t truly occur to me until late 2019-early 2020. Once the realization fully hit, I began doing research on what it meant to be a harem author. I’m kind of a slow learner, so it’s taken me a bit to figure it all out.
That being said, I’m now a harem author!
Just about everything I write nowadays is harem fiction: one man in loving, romantic, highly sexual relationships with several women. Nowadays, I tend to write more human on human stuff, but I still have a lot of non-human ladies in mind for the future, so if that’s your thing then stick around.
I’d say beyond writing harems, I tend to have themes that I always explore in my fiction, and they encompass things like trust, communication, respect, honesty, dealing with emotional problems in a mature way…basically I like writing about functional and healthy relationships. Not every relationship is perfect, but I don’t really do drama unless the story actually calls for it. In total honesty, I hate drama. I hate people lying to each other and I hate needless rom-com BS plots that could have been solved by two characters having a two minute conversation.

Writing quality is, as always, high, but I felt that the sex/story ratio in this one was weighted too much to the "sex" side.
The story is interesting, as is the world. The explorations of "human" nature and relationships I can take a certain amount of, but I found the topics of discussion getting repetitive. In a book just over 200 pages I probably paid attention to about 100. Not a good ratio if you want to keep my attention.
I'll probably read the next one, but I'd be hoping for more action/exploration if it is to remain interesting.

So after hearing there was a book about monster girl romance, i figured i had to give it a shot and...welp, the book went exactly how you thought it would go.
Dude in the forest is like "Man, i want to bang monster girls" and that's essentially the book. It's incredibly unabashed in what it is. it's essentially a hentai/porno with a story. Human guy meets a naga (which they call the race 'viper') and she wants to open to an Inn in the woods. He, the viper, and a succubus all team up to work on it.
Along the way though there's copious COPIOUS amounts of sex. like wayyyyy more than i thought there would be.
While a Goblin romance book I recently read had some sex scenes, this one was like every other scene. It was so much in fact that the actual plot was pushed to the side so there could be more lovemaking.
Now don't get me wrong, i don't mind sex scenes, but i just feel like this one was a TAD bit of an overkill. pace it out a little more.
However, i'd have to say the biggest problem i had with this book was the main character. He was just literally boring generic protagonist man. His personality was non-existent and he was usual "i've fought for a decade and have a bad past" kind of guy. you know the trope i'm talking about.
He was as interesting as old newspaper wrapping moldy potatoes. I honestly didn't care for him at all and would not be saddened even slightly if he croaked in the next book. The females.... are fine. The succubus is okay, although she and the Viper flex their "weirdness" and "specialness" a little too much. like they talk about how "oh, we're not like others of our race. ' i was banished!' 'i don't have magic!' " like, they try so hard to explain how they're "not like others in their race" and did it so often that it got tiring. we get it. you think you're special. move on.
All in all...it was fine? if not lacking in the plot department. I Just wish the main character didn't suck so much. he's really what dragged it down for me. I know this really just amounts to a smut book, but damn it, that doesn't excuse boring characters.
The writing was fluid and i wasn't ever really confused and i kind of want to see this Inn get built so there's that. i REALLY wish i could give this a 3.5, but i can't do halves because this site is evil.
I can't in good conscience give it the same rating as the goblin girl book because it's not as good.
so, that being said, i give this book a 3.5 out of 5, rounded down to a 3.
Will i read the next one? yeah, sure. it kept me interested enough that i want to see what happens. Maybe MC will get a personality next book. i mean...probably not but one can hope.

“Monster Girl Inn” is a delightful tale that I can only describe as “wholesome smut.” Yes, Misty Vixen has loaded this book up with sex. But there’s not a drop of cynicism. The prose feels so naive and pure and exuberant, which gives it a strange sort of innocence, even when it’s wonderfully raunchy. Which it is. Often.
On its surface, this is a story about Victor, a man who goes out into the wilderness to, in his words, “bang monster girls.” And, spoiler alert, he is very successful in his mission. But when he meets Fiona, a viper-girl who wants to open an inn that caters to everyone, regardless of species or background, the story becomes much deeper. Victor, Fiona, and Jezzy the succubus are all wounded souls who form deep bonds and become a found family. That has sex. A lot.
It’s a joy to see Vixen explore themes of tolerance and acceptance without being heavy-handed about it. With its compassionate, chilled-out protagonist and leisurely pace, “Monster Girl Inn” is a soothing, slice-of-life adventure that’s a balm for the stresses of daily life.

hey fun entertaining fantasy story
I always like the way this author writes his stories are very interesting with diverse characters good World building interesting fight scenes with a little bit of drama and was spicy scenes thrown in to accentuate the romance of some of the characters. the things that happened in the story makes sense to me and I like the way things are written it's free-flowing creates images in my mind that give me a lot of entertainment which is what I look for in a story. the characters are interesting and the situations that come along add good drama as well as exciting Adventure. I am looking forward to the next book.

The idea for the actual plot/storyline is good. The writing has some discrepancies and gets a little repetitive but still good. There is A LOT of smut. You’re let in that that’s what this is mainly about from the get go and its well written but I do enjoy the world and mission of the inn that I’m kinda wanting less of it. Or at least a better sense of timeframe. Can’t wait to see what happens in book two.

I’d happily read more of this series
It’s a good start. The characters do things for reasons people do things instead of exist as plot devices. The dialog works. Situations are a RPGish but generally fun. There is enough left out there to carry the story forward into future books.

Romantic speaks to my heart
I really do like the main character someone who can look past differences and not be prejudiced open mind free spirit. Love how he gives into love and love conquers all the camaraderie the respect the honesty. All in all this is a really good book very much looking forward to reading volume two and hope after that there's many more.

Fun read
It's light fare, definitely for adults, entertaining and amusing. The author is uniques in that her MC's are plain-speaking, likable characters you WANT to see succeed. Sort of a HEA for adventurers with erotica thrown in for bonus points.

Good read
It was a good, interesting read. An interesting story of misfits being together for a cause. The characters are interesting, and a little broken but many of us are, at least in some way. I want to see where the group goes/does next.

Simple plot that becomes a more slice of life (with a harem) story. The characters were fun and the world building very interesting. An adventurer wants to bed Monster Girls, Monster girl wants to open an inn (and bed humans). Girl has friends with the same wish as her...

This felt like a smutty version of Legends and Lattes, except the plot (if you can call it that) develops very slowly then exceptionally fast for some critical scenes. This writing reads like fanfic, not that there’s anything wrong with that. Not terrible, but not terribly compelling either.

I don't know what i was expecting with this book many times i had to double check my earbud on the bus to make sure it was not going to my spreaker during the steamy bits but was a good book
