The second hilarious and action-packed middle grade EDDIE ALBERT adventure from beloved comedian and bestselling author Paul O’Grady
Eddie Albert and the amazing animal gang are BACK!
Eddie and best friend Flo are spending the Easter holidays on the Romney Marshes with Aunt Budge and all Eddie’s animals – Butch the dog, Bunty the hamster and pirate goldfish Dan and Jake.
When the terrible Rancid Twins arrive in town, set on uncovering the secret mystery of the smugglers’ treasure, Eddie and Flo are drawn into a thrilling new adventure. Eddie must use his ability to speak to animals to enlist the help of two elegant alpaca, a friendly sheep called Doris and a famous film-star rabbit to save the day and reveal a treasure of epic proportions.
Action-packed and hilarious, Eddie Albert is a technicolour cinematic adventure full of friendship, animals . . . and, of course, a wicked sense of humour.
Definitely not as good as the first one by Paul O Grady I found the sentences in this soooo long and as we read it aloud I had to take huge breaths! Very weird Also not much of a plot but great advertisement for Romney Marshes as he raves about it
If it was the first one of his I’d read I would buy another but the first was brilliant Same character but felt he could have made more of the storyline about the rancid twins and how naughty they were
A great follow up to Paul’s first book, which I also loved. I love his style of writing, as he captures adults, as well as kids in this series. Such a shame we won’t get any more books from him now he’s gone, but thanks Paul for writing such amazing, lovable books for kids and of course it wouldn’t be right if you didn’t have any animals in them :) x
Alexander thought this book was great, well written by the fabulous & sadly recently departed Paul O'Grady. Some lovely illustrations in black and white. This book is full of animals, wit and adventure, a fabulous read!
I've read all of Paul's books and ive loved them all. So sad we won't be getting anymore adventures but I know these books will be treasured for years to come.
Bought and read this one almost immediately after Paul's tragic death. Another fun and campy kids adventure with familiar characters and every word oozes with Paul's signature charm, wit, and humour. As someone who deeply admired Paul, reading it felt like a comforting hug. I loved the Rancid Twins too, they were very funny and I think totally appealing to a young audience. I don't think this one was as good as his first, all in all, but I still had a great time with it and finished it in two sittings. I am so sad we probably won't have another one now.
Loved this 🫶🏼 it's so sad that we won't have another instalment now that Paul has sadly passed away 😞 but what a fitting tribute to this man's wonderful life..
Book 2 and the second adventure of Eddie, Flo and their animals pals in Aunt Budges new cottage. The Rancid twins are believable children's villains, giving vibes of the home alone and Dalmatians villains.
absolutely loved this 2nd book by Paul 0Grady ,when reading it I feel like I can hear him reading it to his grandchildren doing all the voices,Eddie and Flo meet up at Aunt Budges cottage in Kent promising not to get into trouble this holiday on until they meet the Twins
