Witch, Warlock and Vampire #37

One With Shadows (Underworld; Witch, Warlock and Vampire #37)

Rate this book
After finding out all her schoolmates are possessed with the ghosts of long-dead Druids, and narrowly escaping a close call with the Vryloka, Emma is on the run with the only man she trusts—her professor, Stone Draper. What will happen once they find themselves ensconced in a small cabin, out in the middle of nowhere?

Pagan isn’t sure it’s such a great idea to break into the Masked Magistrates with Nyx, in order to steal something—something unknown to him. But, when they get caught, and Pagan narrowly escapes, what will he do when he finds out Nyx never escaped?

Jolie is still haunted by her feelings for Rand, meanwhile, her feelings for Morse are becoming more and more difficult to ignore and fight. She can’t help but wonder, though, what Morse is hiding? The more she thinks about him, the more she realizes she really doesn’t know who he is.

And Laucian finds himself more and more taken with the vampire hunter sent to murder him. When he appeals to her to help him defend Rowan, will she take the job?

I’m a huge fan of anything paranormal and I always have been. I get super excited whenever they have those Twilight Zone Marathon days and anything ghost or vampire related will always attract my attention.

My interests are varied but aside from writing, I’m most excited about traveling. I’m extremely fortunate to have been able to live in England and Scotland, both places really having a profound effect on my books.

Thanks for checking out my books and I hope you enjoy them! Happy Haunting!

Wow there is so much going on in this installment of the series . Jolie is still being haunted by her feeling for Rand as her feeling for Morse are becoming harder to fight. Poor Emma is running from possessed classmates and the only person she can trust is Stone . Pagan is having second thoughts about Nyx and helping her out . And we have Laucain who well is trying hard not to fall for the vampire hunter that is after him and will she help him to protect Rowan .
Ok with this being the seventh book in the series we are finally getting to see more action . Each character is having so much going on . Emma is being chased and Stone is protecting her and boy do the sparks finally fly in the tiny cabin in the middle of nowhere. Jolie finally gets to the spot where she finds out why she is being kept in the Abyss and why . I really love all of these characters and who with each episode of the series you see how much they have grown and become so much more complex . Even the new characters we see them growing and becoming more and more complex . They are holding their own with the characters we love .
This series is really becoming one of my favourite series . The author takes us on an emotional roller coaster ride in each book . She packs a lot into a short book. Each and every book in the series is just a fun read . I strongly suggest you read in order so you can get to really know these guys . So if you want a good series to take you into the new year check them out, I promise you will fall in love with each and every character.

Episode 7 in the Mists of Magic and Mayhem series continues with Stone and Emma escaping the school and Vrylokas. They find themselves holed up in one of Sinjin's cabins. Pagan and Nyx get caught trying to steal the lodestone and only one of them escapes. Nyx appears to be in the clutches of someone much more dastardly than the Masked Magistrates. Jolie, Morse, Bryn, Sinjin, and Odran are still trying to figure a way out of the Abyss, all while Rowan is left alone with a failing Matilda and protectors who don't outnumber the enemy.

The seventh episode in the Mists of Mayhem series is action-packed, fast-paced, and pulls the reader in effortlessly and keeps them engaged. I am excited to be back in this world. Along the way through this fresh, new adventure we get to meet new characters, venture into new settings, and learn new things. The serial is engaging and branches in several directions, but it's done smoothly.

This series is amazing. I love that we are back in the world of Jolie Wilkins and we get to see what they are up to 10 years after the end of the Bryn and Sinjin series. Each book draws you in and the endings keep you wanting more. I’m constantly on edge, waiting for the next book.

Stone is able to save Emma and go to a safe place. They get closer to each other, Stone still has to tell her everything. Jolie and the others are looking for the tether that is preventing her from leaving. Jolie will also have to figure out what to do about herself and Morse. Sinjin and Bryn fall into their old habits with each other.
Rowan is trying to keep dealing issues of her own. She will find the house filled with people protecting her. She will also have to put her trust in others. Duine will gets a one of his enemies and artifact he is thinking about using. The dreams are getting to him. He decided to send help for his daughter. A visitor tells him somethings that might effect him

This book is will start to show you where the story will be going and why. You will realize that their is someone pulling all the strings of what happened. I am looking forward to seeing what happens in the next book for the characters. Pagan and Nyx are the only characters that don't really do anything for me.

Well episode/novel 7 will give up so many answers while bringing up many more....
We shall find Emma & Stone surviving the attack from Druids. Finding safety w/in a cabin. Now will the under lying feelings that they have for; each other boil over or stay stomped down?
As Jolie has been missing her heart and soul belongs to Rand. Yet in these bleak nothingless Morse seems to be, breaking in those cracks. Such as a weed does in a concrete sidewalk. Alas Jolie just has an odd feeling, maybe it's witch intuition. He isn't wasn't he is.
With Laucian playing with fire falling for the vampire hunter whom was sent to kill him. A change is coming though that very same vampire hunter is going to get a kill order now. So many things where answered for us, yet HP Mallory has created brought life too characters. Of which we yearn to love more , more about. Can't wait for the next book.

Ummmm, my jaw dropped sooo many times reading this installment! Dear God!! Just when you think you've got a clear path to answers and know which way the wind is gonna blow... BOOM! Mallory is like.. Gotcha sucker but in a good kind of way. I LOVE THIS SERIES! I feel like I know what's going to happen and I really hope I am wrong and we'll be hit with a huge Mallory twist. I want these characters to all have a HEA but I really don't know if that'd going to be possible.. guess we'll see. Bring on book 8!

Stone is able to rescue Emma and their relationship changes. I doubt all characters will embrace it joyfully. I loved how Rowan became the hostess and reveled in the friendships she now enjoys. She didn't learn that from her mother. She feels more like Jolie to me. She is kind, intelligent and accepting. The way the characters are gathering to offer her protection reminds me of when Kinloch Kirk was in its infancy as a structure of leadership. Perhaps a rebirth is headed!
