Repercussions

Rate this book
Nobody just decides to be a hot mess.
I think somewhere along the way it just became who I was and I gracefully accepted the role…

I feel so utterly stuck. Unwanted by anyone I could ever see myself with and alone despite having two “roommates” who constantly hover and meddle in my life.

There are definitely repercussions for not pushing myself to be who I want to be. When I met my new next door neighbor Wyatt, I didn’t think he would be the one to constantly challenge me. Tear me open and put me back together again in an entirely different way. The one who is dealing with his own repercussions as well...

OK. So. At first it was cute and witty. Became extremely predictable. I basically skimmed through after 76% in. It started off good then just went downhill. A lot of repetitive sentences and the use of Repercussions, over and over again.

This book has everything you are looking for in a great read! Laughter, love, angst, and twists I didn’t see coming!

Annie and Wyatt both experienced pain in past relationships, and yet what starts out as banter blooms into something more. With each other, they are able to begin a healing process and grow with one another. They support each other, and form a beautiful relationship. With a meddling mother, and a very honest grandma, Annie and Wyatt have a great support system. Grandma Hazel had me laughing the whole time! Makayla is a very honest, no non-sense best friend that every girl will love. Plus, I want to go to Olive & Twist!

You will definitely want to read this book!

From start to finish this book was AMAZING!!! Wyatt and Annie are both dealing with some deep emotional scars. Together they challenge one another and fight to make each other best they can be.
Not only did this story have a deep emotional side but it also had hilarious family moments as well that really made you laugh out loud and smile. I honestly couldn't put this book down and I can't wait for book number 2!!

No star rating as I am having some difficulty being impartial. If this book were made into a movie, it would be a romantic comedy, no doubt about it. It was a quick & easy read, although the subject matter wasn’t always light. There is a happy ending. I look forward to passing this on so more people are exposed to this contemporary author.

Wow! What a debut novel! I am completely and fully in love with this book. This is the story of accident prone "hot mess" Annie and her sexy brooding new neighbor Wyatt. The relationship of these two is awesome. It's real. It's strong. It's hilarious. It's passionate. From the first moment they meet these two are challenging each other. While they are keeping each other on their toes, they are also what each other needs to heal and be happy. Annie is dealing with issues from an abusive relationship. Wyatt is dealing with a tragedy that made him run from his hometown in Philly. Slowly these two mend each other. But trust me it's not easy. And their interactions made me laugh out loud so many times. By the end of this book I was totally involved in their world and felt what they felt. This author does that. I felt like I was reading my own thoughts. She writes like how we all talk and think. No filter. And I loved every minute of it. I highly suggest everyone to read this awesome story. It's more than just romance. Trust me that's in there and it's on fire. I was feeling myself swoon when they barely even touched! This is also a story that shows what happens in life isn't always because of us. Sometimes life is just mean. And sometimes others don't deserve us. But it's up to us to fight back. And boy did these two characters do that. And you will also love the other characters. Especially Grandma Hazel. She had me crying to tears with her sassy remarks. I now have a goal for when I am an old lady. And great news! This isn't the end of for this series. There will be more and I can't freaking wait! So join me in falling in love with Stormy and Gunslinger.

I'm simply amazed that Repercussions is B.L. Olson's debut book, because if I would have never guessed that fact if I hadn't seen it in writing. Poor Annie is a hot mess, who gets herself in the most entertaining (for me)/embarrassing (for her) predicaments. Her last relationship really took a toll on her, so she's been gun shy about putting herself out there in dating, and her writing career since. She's got a meddling mother who tries to set her up with all kinds of men, which drives her crazy, but luckily fate takes pity on her, and her new neighbor Wyatt is a mouthwatering piece of man meat. However, their first meeting isn't one to write home about, or maybe it is, because Annie finds herself in one of those humiliating positions that only happens to her, so yeah, what's a girl to do, but pull herself up by her thong, and get on with it. Wyatt has serious baggage from his past, so he's not the easiest to get to know, which gives him an air of mystery, and he & Annie have some serious sparks. Those sparks slow burn, but finally ignite, lighting the sheets on fire! But his angst filled past had him playing the whole push & pull game until I was ready to throat punch him. I get it, I do, but seriously, time to man up at some point. The cast of secondaries were highly entertaining, which had me laughing hard, hell, the whole story had me laughing like crazy to be honest because Annie on her own was something else. The talented B.L. Olson penned a very entertaining read with a big side of angst that I couldn't get enough of, and I'm excited to read the next story! HIGHLY HIGHLY HIGHLY RECOMMEND!

Just realized I never left a review.

This book is the perfect mix of funny and angst. Annie is definitely a hot mess, which I crazy relate to! Wyatt is all brooding sadness, with so much sweetness.

Natalie kills me!

I don't want to give anything away, just go read it and laugh and fall in love with Wyatt.

Real

I felt the characters were authentic and weren’t one dimensional. Both Annie and Wyatt are dealing with loss in very different ways and find themselves through their love in each other. Annie was damaged from a relationship that had slowly taken her voice (written and real). Annie is quirky, witty and heartbreaking at time. Wyatt is stoic, solid and true. I appreciated that the author showed his vulnerabilities and that men can struggle with grief and cry and it not have anything to do with their “manhood”. Highly recommend this book.

This one had me laughing... the whole time!

I love a good rom-com that has been actually laughing out loud. It’s rare to find those types of books out there and I had the pleasure of reading this one! From fences to octopus arms to drunk Jesus ;) this book was amazing!!!

Annie is the definition of hot mess. I feel like a lot of women can relate to her. It feels like anything that can go wrong, will but she takes it in stride! From the beginning of the very first chapter, this book had me reeled in.

Then comes along Wyatt. While each character is fighting their own battles, they’re still real. They’re not those imaginary characters that you say, “well that doesn’t happen in real life”. No, this book feels like it could’ve actually happened. Wyatt eventually opens up, which takes a little longer than it did for Annie. But Annie also didn’t have much of a choice in the matter either.

The last half of the book had me on my toes, wondering, waiting for the preverbal foot to drop and when it did, I held on for the ride. Ending this book though, I feel light and happy. A great ending with a happy ending. If you’re looking for the perfect rom-com, snatch this up!

This book has plot twists that take you by surprise. Wyatt can be a bit of a selfish person but has redeeming qualities. He does the unexpected when you least expect it to show a caring loving man. Annie is humorous and sarcastic. She shows, you can survive anything. This book had more twists that suprised me. This is my most favorite book from this author.

Debut Novel? No way!
You'll be uttering these same words once you've finished Repercussions. From the getgo, Annie is a character that is so easy to root for.
Life has not been kind to her and when we meet our heroine she's definitely at her lowest point.
Enter a brooding, gunslinging neighbor who has not had it any easier.
With Annie's sassy mouth and Wyatt's dislike of everything, you know sparks are bound to fly and fly they did.
With a meddling mother, a straight-talking friend and one eccentric grandmother, you're in for some feel-good humor and laugh-out-loud moments.
B.L. Olson takes the reader on an amazing emotional journey that will have you laughing, crying, yelling at the pages and sitting on the edge of your seat. Repercussions is packed with everything you need from a good read and an ending that will have you swooning without a doubt.

WOW!!! WOW!!! WOW!!!
This story was absolutely unputdownable!!
Between quirky accident prone Annie and her family and friends to Wyatt and his funny grandma, I laughed more than alot. I commiserated in certain parts too. This was such a good story that made me want to be friends with the characters. There were also some really sad moments that brought on some hard times for the characters. Some of the words uttered by Annie...very laugh out loud!!
Such a beautifully written emotional but also uplifting read. Wyatt was really good for a woman's moral, the words he uttered, the protectiveness and his hugs, you couldn't help but love him.
This is a definite must read. Well done to the author on writing such a book. I really cannot wait for more!!
The author is new to me and I am really looking forward to reading more from her.

Looking forward to Book 2! =)

I picked this adorable debut up the day is came out.
I just finished it and I must say it quickly became a favorite! I could not put it down!

The story of Annie and Wyatt keeps you sucked in from front to back. The supporting characters are such a riot in each of their own ways. (I found myself nodding while I read....Annie's mother is much like my own! Haha)

You will laugh (a lot,) roll your eyes at them, cry, smile but most of all fall in love with these small town kids just trying to survive the continuous Repercussions of life. :)
I cannot wait for book 2, put me down for a pre-order!

Congratulations on your first book B.L. Olson it is a wonderful pleasure of a read! ♡

Hilarious. Heartwarming. Perfect

I've had this purchased on my Kindle for months! I feel like an idiot that I didn't read it sooner. This book had me laughing right as Chapter One started. The prologue is sad but necessary, the rest of the book is well written hysteria with a mix of swoony- goodness. I loved Annie and I loved Wyatt, completely equal. Wyatt has a few ghosts he's trying to wrangle, while Annie has a few pieces of herself she needs to get back. Their relationship is funny, believable and the perfect mix of push & pull. It's perfectly paced, with unexpected twists that add flavor and fun with a smidge of angst. This is Definitely one of my top books of the year.

If you’re looking for a hot cop and a mess of a librarian then you’ve come to the right place. B.L Olson has created a lovely debut novel that will make you want to swoon and then punch something at the same time.

The back and forth between Annie and Wyatt will be having your head spinning, but in a good way. Learning along with these two and how they work together makes their relationship so much more solidified when reading.

The journey that you’ll be taken on is one that had me laughing, swooning, and yeah, I even teared up a little. If you’re looking for your next read, then make sure to to grab Repercussions and dive into the world of Annie and Wyatt.

I freaking loved this book!!! ❤️ When reading you should be able to feel the characters emotions and boy could I with Repercussions! All of Annie’s embarrassing moments, the heartbreak, the suspense, the hilarity. ALL OF IT. And Wyatt *swoon*! Just seriously, like a knight in shining armor, swooping in when you need him! Although he has his own demons to battle. Seriously, go one click this now, you won’t regret it!

B.L Olson has created a lovely and funny debut novel that will make you want to swoon and laugh out loud, like seriously wait until you meet Grandma Hazel.

I loved all the back and forth between Annie and Wyatt. Their easy banter and the bad luck they both endured gave the story so much more to relate to even though some of the situations they landed themselves into wasn't always a laugh out loud moment.

I loved these characters and their storyline. I can't seriously stress that enough.

Cute and Enjoyable

This is the first book I have read from this writer. It was funny interesting touching enjoyable. I loved every single moment of this storyline. I love how these two get together and stay together. There is one very touching moment in this book where I got a little teary eyed. But these two take you on quite the ride. B.l Olson gained a fan with this one. Two great characters with amazing chemistry. A must read about overcoming your past and moving on.

I absolutely loved it! I connected with Annie a lot seeing as I am a clumsy, hot mess myself. And Wyatt was extremely appealing. Sexy, protective, and broken by his past.

Throw in a meddling mother, a grandmother that I want to be when I get older, and you have a great story by a debut author.

Looking forward to reading more of Brit’s words as soon as she writes them.

This book is the author's debut and it is incredible. I read it in two sittings because you will want to keep reading. The plot is interesting and cohesive with a great flow. Her character development is flawless and she makes you feel the characters' emotions. There is suspense woven around the love story of Annie and Wyatt, both broken hearted souls. You will adore Wyatt's Grandma Hazel. I love how the author structured her chapters with a repercussion for each chapter. Annie is adorable, her family is a hoot and well, Wyatt is smoking hot but broken with secrets. The circumstances of their first encounter are hilarious. The story gets to the core of what it takes to love and be loved. There were surprises that I had not expected as the plot unfolded. Olsen did not rush the ending but let the reader savor the resolution. The sunflowers and cover have a beautiful signifcance. I pre-ordered and will be reading more from this author. I highly recommend it. No spoiler alerts.

I am in absolute awe that this is BL Olson's debut novel. This is such a wonderful read. There are parts in this book that had me crying in laughter, it was incredibly hilarious. Then add in the plot twists and I just couldn't put the book down - I even snuck in little reads at work!!
Wyatt and Annie have quite a few things in common, and it all isn't happy and cheery. But this is what allows them to step out of their comfort zones, and move back into a new reality. They are great together. It is a toss up between Annie and Grandma Hazel as to who was my favourite character. These two are cut from the same cloth, and both would be wonderful to have as a friend or relative in your own life.
This book is just a fantastic read and I would love to read Maddie's story as well.

Olson has a knack for getting inside her characters' heads and adding a great amount of depth. Annie is raw and real and the humor in her inner dialogue left me in stitches. Her meet cute with Wyatt? Unforgettable! Repercussions has an awesome ensemble of side characters and all of them enhance the story. The families in general are incredibly realistic and easy to relate to! Grandma Hazel is hilarious and Annie's meddling mom reminds me of many mothers out there. It was great seeing Annie and Wyatt's romance develop throughout the book and watching them heal each other from the wounds of their pasts. I can't wait for the next release from B.L. Olson!

To read about an feel someone’s absolute misery and being abused emotionally, mentally, and then physically just makes your heart absolutely break to start this book. Then not healed, but at least maintaining some semblance of life you witness life taking an absolute crap on her. It kicks her so hard that she ends up with a gun pointed at her chest getting threatened with the police. Can she and the owner heal each other or will they continue to stumble through the darkness alone? Very good book. Definitely not a smooth road.

This was a great read. It's been in my tbr list for a while, and seeing those sunflowers kept making me want to read it. This is a new to me author and this was her debut novel. I have to say it was certainly packed with heart and story. I loved the characters and the humour in the dialogue between Annie and Wyatt and grandma hazel was awesome. Just when you thought nothing more bad could happen to either character, life kicks them again. I love that they came through to the other side stronger and together. I can't wait to see what this author writes next.

What an amazing debut by this author!! I couldn’t read this book fast enough. The characters are real and raw. They drag you into the story with the emotions and experiences from the past. The suspense keeps you flipping pages as fast as humanly possible. The love story is one that you come to love and cherish.

Annie and Wyatt are both broken, hurting people. The side character who steals the show is grandma Hazel. She sure is a character!! There is a ton of laughter and family is big in this book, which is such a great thing to read about. The events that happen in this story and hilarious and tug at your heart strings. You never know what to expect with the character and situations. A must read to add to your kindle!!

The repercussions at each chapter are well placed and the cover has significance you will understand once you have read the story!! Thank you for that amazing story! I can’t wait to see what she brings in the future!!
