Tess Thompson Romance...hometowns and heartstrings.
Tess Thompson is the USA Today Bestselling and award-winning author of contemporary and historical Romantic Women’s Fiction with over 60 published titles. When asked to describe her books, she could never figure out what to say that would perfectly sum them up until she landed on, Hometowns and Heartstrings.
She’s married to her prince, Best Husband Ever, and is the mother of their blended family of four kids and five cats. Best Husband Ever is seventeen months younger, which qualifies Tess as a Cougar, a title she wears proudly. Her Bonus Sons are young adults with pretty hair and big brains like their dad. Daughters, better known as Princess One and Two, are teenagers who make their mama proud because they’re kind. They’re also smart, but a mother shouldn’t brag.
Tess loves lazy afternoons watching football, hanging out on the back patio with Best Husband Ever, reading in bed, binge-watching television series, red wine, strong coffee and walks on crisp autumn days. She laughs a little too loudly, never knows what to make for dinner, looks ridiculous kickboxing in an attempt to combat her muffin top, and always complains about the rain even though she chose to live in Seattle.
She’s proud to have grown up in a small town like the ones in her novels. After graduating from the University of Southern California Drama School, she had hopes of becoming an actress but was called instead to writing fiction. She’s grateful to spend most days in her office matchmaking her characters while her favorite cat Mittens (shhh…don’t tell the others) sleeps on the desk.
She adores hearing from readers, so don’t hesitate to say hello or sign up for her newsletter: http://tesswrites.com/. You’ll receive an ebook copy of her novella, The Santa Trial, for your efforts.
Heartwarming, entertaining, and romantic- I couldn't put it down!
With "Emerson Pass Historicals:Books 1-3 boxset" Tess Thompson once again proves why she is on my favorite author shelf! Tess Thompson is a master wordsmith, who has a talent for creating characters as real as your next door neighbors. I fell in love with Tess Thompson when I read " Riversong" and wanted to move Oregon and find Lee Tucker's home. The resulting River Valley series kept me company for many months as I eagerly awaited each new novel.
Her Emerson Pass series, that follows the history of a small town outside Denver, Colorado and the generations of the founding families. The entire series includes both historical romances such as in this boxset and contemporary romance that involves the future offspring from the historic novels. It is an epic tale, on the level of Michener and Uris but with the romance found in Gone With The Wind or The Thornbirds. Like her previous series the characters are so relatable it is like sitting on your porch, sipping tea with friends you have known all your life. I was impressed with Alexander Barnes pioneer spirit and visions of what an ideal community could be, that caused him to build Emerson Pass out of the ashes of a burned mining town. His children are as fascinating as Alexander. The detailed growth and development of the main and support characters makes this saga so entertaining. I was enthralled with setting of Emerson Pass. I hate snow and winters, yet Tess Thompson's words made a blizzard look tolerable! Only a talented writer could make winter seem inviting to me. As I read about Quinn's terrifying train trip from Denver to Emerson Pass, I had such a vivid mental image of the ride I discovered I had white knuckle gripping the arms of my rocking chair, while holding my breath. I was shaking so hard I could barely stand and had to take a break from reading to calm down.
That is the glory of reading a Tess Thompson novel. You don't just read her books, you live them ,experience them, participate in them, with your whole heart and soul. Emerson Pass Historicals boxset was like being magically transported to another place and time. As I read the last word, I found the thought of returning to my own world a little disturbing. This is one series I will never tire of reading over and again!
This is a new to me author. I was intrigued by the snipet of the first book...and now I'm hooked. This series is about a family and the people they love. It has q lot of love in family and helping others. Community. Each book skips ahead 4\5 years do you see the kids growing up. I'm looking forward to the next book. Clean romance at it's finest. Highly recommend.
The three stories are set in Emerson Pass, where a love story develops amidst family and friends. The uncertainties are voiced, and their tested trust gets strengthening.
People who love to read Christian-based family fiction stories would like how these historical accounts describe life's journeys.
I loved these stories. Feels like you're part of the family.
The characters are so realistic. Each person is relatable. Could tone down the sexual stuff in the first book, but it was handled better in the second two. Bravo!
I totally enjoyed reading about the Barnes family couldn't stop until the end of book three, looking forward to reading all the other books now well done Tess Thompson such a joy to read.
