It really was a "clean" book. It was a decent storyline, I thought she'd be more confident and found her timidness cute and hilarious at first but it quickly grew annoying and pathetic. This book is not for the already confident big girls (I'm a size 15/16 for reference) this is a book for insecure big girls who want to read something where they can see themselves hut also feel validated. I want a book where she's confident and doesn't have to go through the whole low self-esteem phase you know the typical bug girl insecure doesn't know her beauty and always makes excuses to why she'd not deserving. I would have loved this book as a teenager when I was a very devout Christian. If any of that applies to u great. It was a good book for what it was. I'd like the same storyline but in a more adult setting. I wanted him to SHOW her how serious he was. I hope this helps.
DNF—1.0⭐️ The Good—the book’s cover. The Rest—The heroine, Lorelei, is a 25 year-old black woman who owns a cleaning business catering to wealthy clientele, and attends graduate school part-time. She aspires to be a published writer. At first glance, Lorelei appears to be my kind of heroine. Sadly, this is not the case. Lorelei acts like a 16-year old high school girl, not a college student. Furthermore, she has zero self-esteem. As the story continues, it gets more inane, bizarre, immature and just plain ridiculous. [SEE MY HIGHLIGHTS]
In conclusion, as I read, I began to get more and more aggravated by the unnecessarily excessive number of lines between each paragraph. Hmmm, haven’t I seen this type of thing before?🤔 AHA! [SEE MY REVIEW]—Thomas O’Reilly (Tycoons from Money #25).
I enjoyed this book, the main character didn't have to have money to be relatable. So many women have issues, not of this own making but from other UGLY people and how those "people" can make life difficult! Some people may think that the author went too far in the history of the main character, but in order to truly understand other person you would have to understand the Baggage they carried with them. Some people never understand how beautiful they are. Outside appearance is nothing compared to a person's inner beauty.
This story depicts two characters from different worlds…a billionaire professor and his student, housekeeper and surrogate parent to her siblings. Neither felt they could fall in love and have a meaningful relationship, but that is exactly what happened when their chemistry combusted leaving in each other’s arms! To say that the read held my attention from start to finish is an understatement!🦋
She was just so stubborn up until the last pages of the book! Jezzz how many ways and times does he gotta show and tell you! I feel like she was tryina to ruin her life and be alone and trust no one..i was glad when i got to the end.
Gabriel made a promise to his sister that he would find love and marry her, in walks the woman he fell for Lorelei and he felt it so the rest is history.
Gabriel and Lorelei had great chemistry from the start. Lorelei struggled with Gabriel being her professor. Through their ups and downs, true love prevails
