My reputation was, well… different. An heir to a media empire, I stopped trying a long time ago and just existed. But with my father about to step down, the legacy sits squarely on my shoulders. Then there's the other thing, the public announcement of my arranged marriage. And with all that going on… I can’t erase how my sister’s best friend tastes on my lips after one night together. So I think of an alternative that might please us both…
Pepper
When my long-term relationship blows up in my face, I'm determined not to let it get in the way of an epic party. But after a drunken night, I end up in my best friend's older brother’s bed. What I didn't expect next was his proposition. But that was only the beginning.
A stand-alone steamy romance with a HEA, guaranteed!
Although characters are interconnected throughout the series, this book can be read as a stand-alone.
Missy is an Australian author who writes kissing books with equal parts angst and steam. She loves writing stories about billionaires, enemies to lovers, and the boy next door- just to name a few.
When she’s not writing, she’s taking care of her two daughters and doting husband.
Inspired by the acreage she lives on, Missy regularly distracts herself by visiting her orchard… some days more often than writing!
Then there’s her overweight cat, Charlie, chickens, and bees if she needed another excuse to pass the time.
And, when the day ends, there’s nothing better than unwinding with a gin and tonic as the sunsets surrounded by the ones she loves.
This is book 3 in the Elite Men of Manhattan Series, this story is about Connor and Pepper. I really, really enjoyed this steamy read. Definitely the best book so far in this series, the author took me on a journey through practically every emotion - laughter, sadness, frustration, angst, love, happiness, etc. As usual Ms Walker writes extremely well and this book caught my attention from page one unlike the first two books. I read it practically in one sitting, the book was so absorbing. There were many love scenes, so definitely for an adult reader. I'm glad Connor made the choices he did and Pepper was such an endearing personality. And I did enjoy reading about the other auxillary characters from the previous books in this series. This is a standalone story but it is recommended that you read the books of this series in order. I rate this book 4.5* I was given an advance reader copy to review.
Lost Love was another great book. However I wanted to reach into the book and knock Connor and Pepper's heads together. All of the back and forth gave me whiplash! I'm glad, however, Connor took a stand and went after what he wanted. I'm already ready for Ari and Olivia's story!
Pepper en Conner zijn zo leuk samen. ❤️ De boeken van Missy Walker zijn niet uitmuntend, maar ze lezen wel lekker weg en dat is precies wat ik nu nodig heb.
Lost Love by Missy Walker is the 3rd book in her Elite Men of Manhattan series about four wealthy friends. Conner is heir to a billion-dollar media empire saddled with a dreaded arranged marriage he dreads. Pepper is eight years younger and good friends with his sister and the person Conner feels insanely attracted. Conner and Pepper begin as a one-night stand and become friends with benefits. Yet, Conner’s upcoming engagement and arranged marriage loom large in their near future. To see how this triangle emerges into a guaranteed HEA (that Missy Walker always delivers), you need to read Lost Love. Don’t stop with Lost Love; check out all of Missy Walker’s books. You will be glad that you did.
Book 3 is Conner and Pepper's story ... really kinda a love square with Conner, Francesca- his arranged marriage from when he was just a wee thing... Pepper and her boyfriend Jake, of over a year ....
Pepper and Jake are having issues. He was caught with a nurse [Jake being in his 3rd year of medical doctor residency] ... Pepper can't trust him anymore.
Conner is stuck facing an arranged marriage to a Duke's daughter. A love-less marriage ..
So what happens when you try to scratch an itch with one of your sister's best friends one night after a party .... and instead, you fall in love?
Some of this book is repetitive from the second book. About the first 100 pages, give or take ...
It's not like those books where you have the main female & male characters taking turns in chapters going over exactly what just happened by from his/her point of view... I don't like those books.
This repeatativeness is kinda needed to explain what happened in the missing time of Pepper and Conner.. it helps explain some events in the second book ....
This is the third book in the Elite Men of Manhattan series, which tells the story of Connor and Pepper. I read it in one sitting and couldn't put it down. The book is quite steamy, although not as much as the first two in the series.
It was nice to see Connor and Pepper's story focusing more on their love moments and experiences. Connor's character is intense and somewhat lost, but Pepper helps him find his center and fight for what he wants, even though he's still unsure of what that is. On the other hand, Pepper is funny and has a fantastic personality. I just wish she had more direction and clarity about what she wants. She seemed to be lacking a sense of purpose.
I love that we get a glimpse of the supporting characters from the other books, as we still have moments with them and learn about what they are doing now.
I love Connor and Pepper 🌶️. They are such a hot couple. I'm so glad Connor ended up with one of Lourde's best friend. Being an arrogant, wealthy - billionaire hunkhole as Lourde and her friends refers them as, Connor found his HEA going against his father and willing to sacrifice his position as the president of the Diamond Company to be with Pepper. He found love and he doesn't want to be in the loveless marriage like his parents. Jake broke up with Pepper and cheated on her. She was heartbroken and was trying to find someone to sleep with so she can erase Jake out of her mind bit she didn't expect to end up in bed with Connor. It was just physical in the beginning but as times went by, it developed into somewhat deeper feelings between them and they eventually fell in love with each other.
I'm officially bowing out with this author. I just can't do it anymore. This series just keeps going downhill for me. It's like the same book on repeat. The guys are absolute jerks. All they think about is sex and money. Then this whole theme of arranged marriages is ridiculous. But what honestly had me laughing was the ending. The dad has been a complete asshole the entire series. Then all of a sudden, Connor stands up for himself with 10 pages to go and the dad is like, congratulations son, LOL whatever. Also, I get that this is an indie author. But someone needs to double and triple-check the punctuation on these books. I don't normally ever comment on that stuff but it's really bad in these books.
This was a good best friend’s brother read. Pepper is Lourde’s best friend and recently broke up with her boyfriend. Conner is Lourde’s brother and is really feeling the pressure from his father and an upcoming arranged engagement. When he finds out his sister Lourde is seeing his best friend that tips him over the edge. What started out as a way to get over Pepper’s ex and Conner to relieve some stress turned into something more, so much more. The first half of the book had a lot of sexy time, it almost seemed like that was what the story was about with not much storyline, and that was just to much for me, I like to have more storyline than what I did. However part way through it did switch and I really liked the storyline. It was a good book and I am glad I read it!
Lost Love by Missy Walker is a wonderful story with amazing chemistry between the H and h characters! Connor and Pepper are a strong match and must battle the family constraints imposed on Connor before they can be together. The story is steamy/spicy and hard to put down! I don’t want to give away spoilers so mum’s the word. I must admit that sibling’s best friends is one of my favorite tropes. Also, while there is an age gap (8 years), I don’t believe that it has an impact at all with this story. So far, I liked this third story in this series the best, but I am looking forward to Ari and Olivia! A solid 4.5 stars!!
This whole group of old friends have some strange magic happening in their lives. Conner was set from a child to marry Francesca and they even announced the engagement. However during his "last days of freedom" he found his true love. A totally unexpected thing for him. Pepper Little has been his sister's friend for years. She was recently single and felt the need to have someone help her forget her ex while Conner had the need to work out some frustrations from work. This was a "one and done" that didn't quite work out that way. She became the ear to bend about his issues and the warm body to help him relax. Well done!
Connor is in line to inherit the family millions but there’s this arranged marriage in his face but a man has to do what a man has to do. Pepper is the one he can’t stop thinking about and maybe they can help each other out? I love the ride of this love affair, it definitely takes Connor off kilter. It’s romantic and has some sweet moments. I loved this story, giving it four stars and highly recommend it.
So third book and this is getting better and better, wow. I love this series and I love how we are treated to handsome men that should be on top of everything but also falls hard for that one true love. But it is complicated to be in the elite and things don't always go as planned or as your family wants it too.
This book is amazing and I am really looking forward to see what will happen next.
I love this story of Connor, quite a different journey to Barrett and Lourde but it was so engaging, emotional and relatable. Really enjoyed learning about Connor and I love the true friendship the boys have even though they are super rich, good looking play boys. Love the developing story of Connor and Pepper, from lust to love and breaking the mould that’s forced on them.
Missy Walker does it again in this ravishing love story if Connor and Pepper. The pull and tug of war of their hearts draws you in the minute you begin reading. I could not put this down.
From the dirty talk in the bedroom to the seductive eyes you can few jumping from the pages, you’re swooning!
I can't tell if I like this series or if I am just sucked in and just need to read it, because it's short and easy.
The ending sucked, the epilogue didn't tie the rest together. Spoiler - it ends with them in bed, but no one confesses their love, no glimpse into their life together, just all this angst the entire novel.
I loved Pepper. Connor, I wanted to throttle most of the story lol Their relationship was beautiful, and I truly held out hope for them. Even when it seemed nothing was going the way it should. I was disappointed with the ending but I'm hoping that their story will continue in the rest of the series.
Connor had never really considered sleeping with Pepper who was his sister's best friend until they both at the same party and their mutual attraction reared up. Connor knew he was intended to be part of an arranged marriage, but decided on one more hot fling before he became engaged. The hot fling grew into to more and now Connor and Pepper were head over heels for each other.
The Elite Men of Manhattan Series has been my favorite series so far. This is the third book of the series. It had me on the edge of my seat more of the story. The emotions were all over for me also I will be adding this to my selves for sure!! I'm so glad I came across Missy Walker's work.
I didn’t think I’d relate to the characters as well as I did Lourde and Barrett but I was wrong!!!!!! Pepper is like someone who you’d want to be your best friend, loved reading their story and again was so addicted I read it in a day! (Not much sleep happening here!!)
Couldn't put it down and missed an entire night of sleep because of it. Loved the connection and chemistry between Connor & Pepper. Great characters that we met in the previous two books in the series. Easy enjoyable read.
⭐⭐⭐⭐ Loved it! Would recommend and really great. 🌶️: start at 50% vanilla sex, around 3 described scenes, might have praise kink and maybe one butt play scene.
connor faces the burden of his family legacy as his father plans to step down from their media empire. complicating matters is a public announcement of his arranged marriage, conflicting with memories of a heated encounter with his sister's best friend. searching for a solution, he suggests an alternative that might please them both. meanwhile, pepper deals with the fallout of a breakup and unexpectedly becomes involved with her best friend's older brother following a drunken night. as their bond grows stronger, they embark on a journey filled with surprising twists and turns.
i ate this up and smashed it within 24 hours because i was enthralled by pepper and connor. it was good to see so much growth from connor he has so many insecurities with this tough boy persona. pepper guides him towards discovering his purpose and fighting for his desires. pepper was such a vibrant personality to read about. this was a love triangle that i really enjoyed.
tropes: best friend's brother, age gap (8 years), billionaire, love triangle
This is book 3 of the elite men stories. I wasn’t sure how I would feel about Connor and Pepper, but once again Missy locked me in and I fell in love with the characters and continuously needed more of their chaotic romance!
Connor and Peppers story! Friends to lovers. Pepper coming to terms with her relationship with a long term boyfriend is over and Connor realizing he is in love with Pepper but is in a contract to marry another for the benefits of the family.
