Winter Peaks #1

Adam: Small Town Family Romance

Rate this book
If Caitlin Ryan had known Pops’ grandsons in Colorado were freaking hot with an equal amount of irritating traits, she’d picked another place to overthink her life. Adam Mills, the oldest brother of the family that agreed to take her in, has an unnerving sexy confidence and overall hotness. And the former snowboard star has his eyes set on her.

As an Olympic gold medalist on the half-pipe, Adam Mills has seen and done it all before. He's finally ready to give his heart to a woman and settle down. But can Adam win over Caitlin's heart?

Welcome to Winter Peaks, Colorado! A small tourist town where all year round, people come and go to enjoy the mountains. But the families of the Winter Peaks series have made the town their home.

ღ Small town romance

ღ Strong heroine & steamy alpha man

ღ Funny, relatable family members

ADAM is book one in the Winter Peaks series about the ups and downs of several families in a small tourist town in Colorado. The series is a spin-off of the sweet and sexy Lucky Irish series, about several close-knit families in Austin, Texas.

Each book is an interconnected standalone. As we read a new sexy romance, we can also catch up with favorite characters throughout the series.

Although the heroine, Caitlin, comes from the Lucky Irish series, it's not required to read those books first.

This book can be read as a standalone.

This was my first read from this author. The story is written in the third person point of view, something I am not the biggest fan of. But I liked both leading characters. Adam and Caitlin were great and I will read more from this author in the future.

Funny, steamy and romantic!

This is the first book of the Winter Peaks series and we follow Caitlin an ex-cop and Adam an ex Olympic Medallist as they fall in love with each other, since they met on a bus journey. They both have some serious mental issues and a past to forget, but they connect almost immediately. They also have a very funny banter and great chemistry.

I loved this cosy small town romance full of great characters (and a very complicated extended family). This series is a spin off of the Lucky Irish series, and now I have to read all the books about Caitlin sisters.

ADAM GIVES UP HIS WILD WAYS

I received this book for free and am giving my honest and voluntary review.

Adam Mills, an ex-gold medal Olympian, is trying to live his life as best he can. He is a womanizer. He meets Caitlin Ryan on a bus and falls immediately in love. I love the way these two struggle with their pasts and mental phobias. I love the way they overcome their one obstacle to have their HEA.

insta love

I just knew I´d love this book after reading the first few sentences. Adam and Caitlin both have issues but are wonderful charakters who are made for each other. Adam´s family is a hoot and the whole town gives off feel good vibes. Reading this book was like taking a vacation to leave your worries behind for a few hours and fill up on new energy to face real life.

The story of Caitlin and Adam tells the story of two people with painful pasts but also with resilience to overcome it and became better people for it. I loved the characters and the way they interact, the humor with which they take on life. A good read.

Such a good book! I really enjoyed Cait and Adam. Cait was so real - job trauma, family issues, mental health problems. Adam, too - so upfront about his mental and emotional problems from his Olympic athlete days. It was engaging and refreshing and emotional. A few tears - a great story!

What a book that was, yes I laughed with this story but I also cried and my heart went out to Cait and Adam, especially what happened when he was younger and then what they both went through.

I really enjoyed reading this book. Both characters have been thinking of how to go on with their life when they met in the bus going to the same small town, Winter Peaks. I like their chemistry and the twist and turns of the story that just proved that they were both in love and cannot live without each other.

Caitlin needs to rethink her life after leaving the police force and goes to stay in winter peaks, but on the bus ride there she meets Adam, not realising they are not just going to the same town but the same house!
Loved this book, the chemistry between them was instant and it was lovely to see their story unfold and meet the other residents of Winter Peaks.

Adam and Caitlin meet on the bus. I don't know when this is set, but do people take buses outside cities anymore? I guess they do because here they are. The story of these two finding love is sweet and very sexy. However, they both have their problems from the past. I particularly liked that they are 35 and 40--not babes in the woods. They have baggage and have to work on it to get to their happy ending. I also like how the future stories of this big inter-linked family are hinted at, so we want to get to the next book and keep in reading the stories of this clever and complex world. The author gets the emotional tone right; she gets us to feel what the characters are going through, which is not easy. Beautiful sex scenes too.

RECEIVED THIS FREE ARC FOR AN HONEST REVIEW! Oh Snap. I was not expecting this book at all. I thought I was gonna get one of those ready to be a Hallmark movie book. I was so wrong and glad I was. This book was funny, heart wrenching and so freaking HOT 🔥🔥🔥 that you'll feel like you're on a roller coaster. Caitlyn was so strong yet broken and scared but shockingly, Adam was exactly the same way. They both had their issues and that makes them perfect for each other. I could not stop reading this book. I'm actually really excited about this author and want to read more from her.

⭐⭐⭐⭐⭐

Adam: Small Town Family Romance is the first book in the Winter Peaks Series, spin of Lucky Irish Series. Well, more Mills boys the merrier.

When I was thinking about Caitlin's book I was somehow quite often seeing her in Jersey with Calum. But Anna Castor decided to surprise the reader totally, sending her to Winter Peaks, to the other side of Mills' family. And honestly, couldn't choose it better.

From the very beginning I felt the attraction between Caitlin and Adam, their chemistry, extraordinary personalities, sharp and witty talks made me love the couple straight away. Both struggling with the shadows of the past trying to deal with them and overcoming their insecurities. Their raw emotions and not being afraid to openly show them, even in Adam’s case, the way they support each other, made me love this book even more.

I can't wait for the second instalment in the series as well as the continuation in Lucky Irish.

"I’m ready to spend the rest of my life together with someone. And I thought that someone was you.”

Although Adam is book one in the Winter Peaks series it's actually heavily tied to the Lucky Irish series.

Besides the fact that I felt like I was missing so much backstory due to not having read any of the Lucky Irish books, I still liked this book.

Caitlin and Adam are well written characters. There are a lot of secondary characters. Thankfully, there is a guide as a introduction that helps for the most part.

Even with the large amount of characters in the book, I felt like the main characters had a really good storyline as well as good back stories.

I absolutely loved this book! Adam and Cait met when they sat side by side on a bus heading to his home town. They have the best banter, amazing chemistry, and have a past they are still dealing with. I loved how Adam shows his emotions freely (not just passion, but all of his emotions) and Cait keeps him centred. Cait is dealing with her families drama and Adam is there to support her every step of the way. It was great to see how they balance each other.

I enjoyed reading this book so much I'll definitely be reading it again.

Anna Castor has quickly become one of my favourite authors and I can't wait to read the next book in this series. I hope you enjoy this book, I sure did.

I love small town stories! They are so good to read and this family seems so fun, entertaining and have some promissing stories to come in the future.

Adam Mills is a fourty-year old; an Olympic god medalist living in his parent’s household and has several siblings in the town of Winter Peaks. Caitling Ryan, and ex-cop, is exhausted and looking for time to think about her life and starting over again. She is looking for a second chance in her life.

They connect right away and discover that they have a lot in common. They are sexy and sweet together and they path is not easy but very sweet and sexy.

I just loved it!

Caitlin and Adam meet on a bus, with totally different plans ahead of them. She is contemplating starting over after being a cop and he is an Olympics champion that is ready to settle down. Her sister is married to a cousin of Adam and his family so the storyline includes most of both families, which is really a cool idea. The romance was on again/off again due to miscommunication and some twists. Loved the little bits there about the s'mores cupcakes and the zip line. Made the characters very much like close friends. Can not wait to read more about this family and their exploits and romances.

I received an ARC from the author thru Booksprout and am voluntarily leaving my review. Adam and Caitlin have a love story that begins on a bus to Winter Peak, Colorado. He is ready to give his heart to the right woman and he believes he just met her. Cait is going to take some convincing yet. They have a sweet and steamy love story. Adam is going to convince Cait that his love is worth taking a chance on.

Caitlin wants somewhere to go to rethink her life. She meets Adam on a bus and they hit it off. I thought it was written well and the chemistry between the two was off the charts. I liked Caitlin and how she just wanted to decompress and think about her life and which direction to go. Adam was a great guy and knew what he wanted and when he met Caitlin he knew she was the one. This is a great small town romance, with great characters and a great story.

Awesome book!!

Love this book!! You have a beautiful woman who quits her job and goes to Winter Peaks for a break and to find herself, while on the bus a handsome man sits beside her and starts a conversation. It ends up that he is part of the family where the woman is going to stay at in the B&B. They start having a relationship and it gets very hot!!! Beautiful story!!!!

Received as an ARC and leaving my honest review. If you've read the other series by this author, you'll realise there are familial links between them which on the one hand makes the stories interesting as you'll see familiar characters popping in. But on the other can be a little confusing if you're not going through the whole series(es) in one go. That said you don't need to read the different series to enjoy each book as they are all standalones in an interconnected series(es).

Liked the straight forward low angst plot in the story and the pace was also good. Even though it was a touch of insta-attraction there was some build up and backstory of both Adam and Caitlin that added to the steam and made things interesting. I liked how the author brought mental health and the need for therapy as something to be addressed rather than to just skim over it or make it seem like love would cure all. Love and support is definitely important in the road to recovery and that also came across in the book, so well done! Overall it was a heartwarming story with some emotional parts and some light hearted funny moments that balanced out the story.

Caitlyn thinks she's just getting away from it all, to take a break from all that's been happening with her life, while she decides what the next step is going to be. Enter the stranger sitting next to her on the bus, who doesn't realize that this beautiful woman next to him is heading to his hometown, and will actually be staying with his family while she's there! That's the beauty of small towns and Winter Peaks has that and more!!

I enjoyed this book so much! Add another series to my want-to-read list!
