O carte cu o miza viitorul copiilor nostri Copiii pot fi invatati sa aiba incredere in ei, sa manifeste spirit de initiativa, entuziasm si bunatate seste ceea ce demonstreaza renumitul psiholog Martin Seligman, care, alaturi de colaboratorii sai, a realizat de-a lungul a trei decenii o serie de studii despre optimism. Cartea de fata se adreseaza parintilor, profesorilor si antrenorilor, care vor invata pas cu pas cum sa le insufle copiilor optimism si sa le schimbe neputinta in control personal. Descoperindu-si capacitatea de a face fata provocarilor sau momentelor dificile, copiii se vor bucura de un echilibru fizic si psihic mai bun, imbunatatindu-si performantele scolare. SELIGMAN (n. 12 august 1942) este un reprezentant de prim rang al scolii americane de psihologie cognitiva, fondata de Aaron T. Beck si Albert Ellis. Este profesor de psihologie la University of Pennsylvania si fost director al American Psycholo gical Association. Domeniile sale predilecte de cercetare sunt psihologia pozitiva, depresia, optimismul si pesimismul. Seligman is the Zellerbach Family Professor of Psychology in the University of Pennsylvania's Department of Psychology. He was previously the Director of the Clinical Training Program in the department. Seligman was elected President of the American Psychological Association by the widest margin in its history and served in that capacity during the 1998 term.[4] He is the founding editor-in-chief of Prevention and Treatment Magazine (the APA electronic journal), and is on the board of advisers of Parents.

Seligman has written about positive psychology topics such as The Optimistic Child, Child's Play, Learned Optimism, Authentic Happiness," and in 2011, "Flourish."
