Intense! That is the word that can describe this book. Don’t get me wrong, the very first pages will have you laughing. There are parts that will make you Ugly Cry. There are steamy hot scenes that will melt your e-reader. There are things that will tear your heart out. This book addresses a big problem that exists in real life. Saying all that, I would highly recommend this book for anyone wanting to read a truly epic love story. Shandi Boyes does love stories with heart and Heat and maybe a few villains along the way. But, in the end, she will put your heart back together and give what I thought was an amazing and truly honest HEA. I can’t say enough good things about this story. Alas, all I can say is get ready for one of the best reads of your life. Tivy and Jack make me long to be in my 20’s again. Something I wouldn’t have thought possible.
This Author has shined a light on what the good people can really do in this world for those who have had bad things happen to them. A standing ovation is well deserved!

What a book this was!!!!

I’ve been a massive fan of Shandi for a long time now but I think this is the first time I’m not sure how to express my feelings for a book and I mean that in the best possible way!

This book had me feeling so many different emotions! I won’t be giving anything away but there are some heartbreaking moments in this book which had the tears flowing and I’m not a crying person at all. After that you see the true strength of each main character come through and it’s amazing to read!!
As standard with Shandi’s books there are some spicy scenes in here right of the bat, the chemistry between Octavia and Jack is intense from the first meeting!

The story between these two had me getting hot and bothered, angsty, heartbroken, proud, elated. It was definitely one hell of a rollercoaster of a journey and I loved every single minute of it!

This book will stay with me.

I was taken from the moment I started to read this book. You don’t want to put it down!! I laughed at the very beginning as Octavia goes out of her way to a meet and greet and gets caught up. Meeting Jack and what follows is hilarious. But then there are true issues that are on point. I don’t want to give anything away but the issues, heartbreak and bravery are what a truly talented writer can explore and keep you enthralled throughout!
I actually love the heat level. Let’s be frank we read these books and come back to talented authors that create hot scenes that sear your brain leaving 🤯 you wanting more. This is why Shandi is one of my top authors.
I guarantee that this book will give you such a wide range of emotions.

This book blew me away. From the first page I was hooked and felt like I couldn’t read fast enough. It was intense, from start to finish. Jack and Octavia’s story made me feel every single emotion, and then some. Their chemistry right off the bat was out of control. Add in both of their pasts neither wants to talk about, and yet they’re somehow connected in a way I didn’t see coming. Heartbreaking yet by the end you’ll be whole again. Just so good.

I'm a huge fan of Shandi Boyes books. Ever since I discovered Issac & the Enigma series on fb one day I've been hooked. I have read most of her books and loved them.

Jack and Octavia's story really surprised me, I was not expecting it. Very emotional at times with hilarious moments. Omg I loved the horse 💩 scene. They have the best meet cute 🤣🤣🤣

Jack 👀 Octavia and all his plans change. The magazine he had planned on dismantling, now becomes his top priority. He will do anything to impress her.

I definitely recommend this book!! Whether your a life time fan or new to Shandi's books, you need this book!!!

WOW. Firstly let me say, I’m a huge Shandi book fan, I’ve read all of her books and recommend her to all of my friends. Her best selling series are most definitely Enigma and Nikolai BUT I really think this new series will be a definite contender! Hotshot Boss is the first book in Shandi’s new standalone series and you guys, this book is FIRE!!!

You’ve got Octavia Henslee (how cute is that name???) and Jack Carson who have one of the greatest meet-cutes involving jersey accents, horse dung, broken shoes, crotch stares and just a really laugh out loud encounter that turns pretty darn steamy quick! Their story will pull at all of your emotional strings and have you up all night reading. It’s a definite page turner and a must read for all!!! 10/10 as always!

I just love a sassy leading lady and Octavia has sass and humor to spare.
I just love a confident alpha male and Jack did not disappoint.
The instant spark of lust and connection between the characters makes for a red-hot story of desire, with sizzling scenes from beginning to end.

But this story is so much more.
Throughout the book there are hints of childhood abuse and family secrets, which all culminate into an explosive crescendo, leaving the reader heartbroken and emotional.
The strength of character shown by Octavia and later Jack and how they turn their childhood experiences into something positive, is what makes this book so much more than 'another sexy romance novel.'

I do hope there is a sequel to this, as I think Caleb and Jess' story also needs telling.

Emotionally intense.

Octivia and Jack's storyline will definitely leave you feeling like a rollacoaster of emotions.
There is plenty of humour throughout while still bringing current issues into the light.

Written in such a way that leaves you with hope and appreciation of how past traumatic experiences and pain can live and haunt you within, until you finally take the steps forward to heal.
Wonderful characters that will capture you from the first chapter.
Octivia is such a wonderfully written character filled with love and laughter while still trying to overcome her past with her cousin Caleb.

Together they move away from there hometown to start over.

From the moment Octivia meets Jack their connection was instant the interaction was so well written.
Such a highly recommend read.

🔥 First off, Thank you, Thank you Shandi Boyes for the ARC!! As per usual, I love this book like I do all your other books ❤️ Jack doesn’t surpass Isaac in my eyes, but he is definitely a contender (No one can ever pass Mr. Isaac Holt - the enigma himself)

🔥 This was, for the most part, a light smutty read. There are dark themes present in the book that come to light, but from it comes a strong and absolutely beautiful message! Please check TWs before reading! 🫶🏻

🔥 Jack and Octavia have a steaming hot connection that lights the pages on fire! From their meet cute to the very last page, their chemistry is palpable. Their one night affair turned into much more than one night night - in the bed, in the elevator, under the office desk - just to name a few 😉

🔥 I devoured this book. Octavia will make you laugh and Jack will make you swoon!

🔥 I somewhat had an idea of what the plot twist was, but when I read it I was not ready for the turmoil it not only caused the characters but myself as well. I don’t want to spoil anything for anyone so I won’t say much except, buckle up, it’s gonna be a wild ride full of many emotions!

🔥 This books is definitely one of my favorites from Shandi so make sure you read this book. You won’t regret it!!

Shandi Does It Again

OMG this one had me hooked from the beginning. I’ve loved all Shandi’s books but this one just did something to tug at my heart and other places. Their story is so hot right from the beginning. But still there is another story to be told and to learn from. We all need to be morally responsible and speak up for ourselves and others. Yes I stayed up late and finished this in one day.

Please Shandi keep them coming. Can’t wait for your next book.

Another great read from Shandi, a beautiful story with so much suffering yet still plenty of humour, heat and romance you would expect from this great author. My heart felt for what Jack had been through and I’m so glad he met Octavia she was just so perfect for him. They were meant to be together an unbelievable connection and serendipity that they found each other.

I've seen a lot of different books come from this author. Sweet, funny, dark, a little bit "Wth did i just read", but this one is in a class all on its own. HSB pulls you in from the get go and it doesn't stop. You just can't put it down. There's cute banter, sexy scenes, and of course some angst.
Octavia and Jack are something else. They have this amazing meet cute, full of chemistry and it builds from there. It just gets better as the story continues. Jack is a billionaire media mogul and Octavia just happens to be an employee in a company he purchased. The instant chemistry between them in palpable, but they're both hiding secrets.
They start on this whirlwind romance. Jack is ruthless and demanding but so soft and considerate when it comes to Octavia. Her ability to feel safe with him is very important.
She's smart and oh so sassy. She doesn't mince words and I love that about her character. They're the perfect match for each other.
When their secrets come to light, it will stop your heart. I was so heartbroken at the unfairness of what they were up against. I found myself wanting to hug them both. This is just an incredible story about finding love and acceptance and being able to forgive and be human. I loved these characters so much and found myself rooting for them. This is a must read for anyone that loves a good, real feeling love story that has some hard bumps to overcome for that happily ever after.

Wow, this was just brilliant as expected from Shandi Boyes. It's hard to not like any of her books. I fell in love with both the characters straight away. Octavia and Jack had me burning up with their chemistry and the Steamy scenes.
This book had it all, humour, Suspense, love and tragedy.
They both had amazing chemistry from the start. I loved Octavias inner monologue. She was hilarious.
They both also had a past they wanted to forget and leave behind. I don't want to give much away but their past does tear them apart and I cried. I cried for them and also cried for what happened in the past. It was hard to read. Think you should be aware of the triggers, because it was heart wrenching.
We eventually got a HEA. However I am being greedy and I wanted more of them together in the epilogue. 😂❤️
Highly recommend this book, definitely worth the read within 2 days.

Where to even begin. This book took me and my emotions for a ride. I’ve always loved Shandi Boyes books since I came across the Enigma series but damn, she seems to always outdo herself. This book was such a page turner that it was so hard for me to put it down. Without disclosing any spoilers, I will say that it discussed some issues that sadly occur in real life. The accuracy on these events is very realistic and had me heartbroken at times.

The chemistry between the main characters is amazing. Octavia and Jack have stolen my heart and the spicy scenes, well those just left me hot and bothered. Thank you Shandi for taking me on this amazing rollercoaster ride. It is definitely one of my favorites.

Octavia is a mess when she meets Jack. She literally is suck in a field of horse poo! She has no idea who he is, but the attraction is instant. Jack is only supposed to be in town for 1 day, but now he’s intrigued by Octavia, and those plans are changing by the minute. The chemistry between these two is super hot, and the scenes are steamy!
Octavia is quirky and quick witted. She’s almost the complete opposite of the millionaire business mogul Jack is. They are both keeping huge secrets from each other. They have to learn to be open and honest about these secrets before it destroys everything.
There are major triggers within this book. It’s very well written, and I would definitely recommend.

Shhh, I've got you.

I went into this book thinking it would be a light, funny story about a boss and his employee. And while it started with one of the funniest meet-cute moments I've ever read, it is NOT the rom-com I was expecting. That, being said, this is one of the best stories I've read all year. Not surprising coming from Shandi Boyes. She never fails to get you fully invested in her stories and their characters. Jack and Octavia's story will pull your heart strings, hard. 100% recommend.

This was different than I was expecting. Not only different from previous books by this author but different in the actual story. It was sensual, highly erotic, and also had a depth to it concerning Jack. I was expecting light and funny. However, I got so much more.

I did wish a few areas had been fleshed out more and that there had been more substance to the actual story between Octavia and Jack. I'm not one to, normally, complain about steam, but I found that in this book I wanted less and more connection outside of steam.

Ill be curious to see where this goes next.
