Principles of Energy Conversion

Rate this book
This "how to" book covers the broadest range of energy conversion forms of any book on the market, and concludes with a chapter on energy storage. New material covers economic, environmental and political issues wrought by recent nuclear reactor accidents, the current oil glut, and decrease in interest in alternative energy forms like solar, biomass as an energy source, cogeneration, solar salt ponds, "cold fusion" and EPA restrictions on particulate matter. There is a comprehensive section on power plant technology. Other features include modification of the problems so that most have at least 25 different answers, a list of variables used in each chapter, and problems for solution on a computer, are included.
