A summer to never be forgotten… Well, at least that’s what I thought anyway. Until one misunderstanding altered the course of our love story.
I thought Greyson Rexwood was the perfect guy, and just like all first loves, I fell hard and fast for the sexy bad boy. The guy who knew how to worship every inch of my curves. Greyson seemed to know exactly what I needed to hear and when. But it still wasn’t enough to keep us together.
In the midst of picking up the pieces of my shattered life, I find myself in his town. I may not be here for him, but he wants answers. I want nothing more than to hear his side of things. The only problem is I’m not sure what’s the truth and what’s not anymore.
Greyson-
One night was all it took for me to be hooked on Lottie Richmond. That summer together she anchored herself so deep inside my soul there was no going back. But just as quickly as she came into my life, she was stripped away.
Now Lottie is here in my hometown, but she isn’t mine anymore. Well according to her, she’s not.
I will get her back, the only problem is, will she let me keep her once she knows everything?
She once told me she loved me more than every wave in the ocean but disappeared soon after.
A New Yorker and a Southern Belle. Two Book Obsessed Babes that became lifelong best friends over their love for a good romance novel.
When they're not writing, they're devouring a good book, or spending time with their family and friends. Total opposites in some ways and exactly the same in others, making them a dynamic author duo.
This was an experience to say the least 😀 not even mentioning the very graphic smut and the fact that the characters were 16 years old— like the main character didn’t even know how to drive yet and she was bussin’ it down. I was extremely uncomfortable.
Also; i’m a plus size girl, have been my whole life and i tend to love books with plus size representation (WHEN DONE RIGHT) which this was not. Every single sentence we were reminded that she had a HUGE ass and HUGE tits and the fact that she was very very very insecure but literally every single man she encountered said she was “fine as fuck” goodbye. This was so cringy, the male main character was unbearable and i could say so much more but i just don’t even have the energy

* Lottie and Greyson met at a costume party. Ashley and Lottie are dressed as bunnies, Trent and Greyson are dressed as Joker and Batman. Right away Greyson and Lottie hit it off, he calls her Stacks "because perfectly stacked ass. Then you turned around with those,” pointing to my chest “And a flawless face to match. It was obvious you were stacked in all the right places.”
Greyson is always lifting her chin up anytime she trys to hide or is upset 😍 ~ taking my knuckle to her chin and gently nudge for her to look at me. I notice she doesn’t hold her head high enough and it really bothers me. I find myself doing this gesture with her often in the short time we’ve known each other and hating the people in her life who have made her second guess herself.
Grey and Lottie both admit they are on love with each other. Lottie loses her virginity to Grey. Grey wants Lottie to meet his friends at a party but her Grandma wants her to do a lunch. When Grey goes to see her, Lottie is sitting with a guy named Jacob, Grey immediately thinks it's something that it's not and turns to leave. Lottie runs after him but he says he needs time. Lottie gets a call that her great grandfather is in the hospital, and has to leave for New York, she calls Grey to tell him but a girl picks up, Amber. Amber tells her some awful things and says she was a summer fling and he doesn't go for big girls and says she's Greys usual fuck. Amber then texts Lottie a video of her sucking Grey off. Lottie blocks Greys phone number and on all social. Lottie's Great grandfather (papa) passed away and was given everything. Every single property, including the Nori Beach home, their priceless heirlooms, Gigi's extensive jewelry collection, their Manhattan brownstone, Papa’s remaining shares of Richmond Steel, but she can't have it until she's 18.. four months away.
Couple months later Lottie shows up and Greys school as the new kid, but she avoids his eyes and goes to sit with Snow and Frankie. Grey to get Lottie's attention pulls Amber into his lap to make her jealous.
Grey is always watching Lottie, even if he doesn't talk to her. Lottie gets closer to Snow but only as friends which has Grey really mad. At a party they finally start to talk and go back to Lottie's to talk everything out. Grey tells her he didn't touch Amber and that is an old video which he didn't know Amber filmed. Lottie meets Greys family and MC, and learns some things about her mom. 😍 But Grey still has a secret..

I really did not enjoy this book. I didn't even finish the whole thing. Writing was super weak and the main characters, especially Greyson, were sooooo cringy.
When my girls, LA Shaw, finally sent me this as an ARC, I was sooo excited! And let me tell you, this book did not disappoint. Now, you don’t have to read the novella before reading this one and the story will still make sense since the novella is about Ashley and Trent, but since the main characters from this book are in the novella (Make You Miss Me), I suggest reading the novella first. With all that being said, I absolutely adored Lottie and I fell in love with Greyson. Lottie is your typical sweetheart who is trying to overcome her insecurities, and Greyson is the classic alpha male that we all love! If you are in the mood for a steamy high school romance book, then this might be the book for you. Can’t wait to read the next book in the series!
I received an ARC for free, and I am leaving this review voluntarily.
This isn’t your typical high school romance. I just couldn’t stop reading it!!
I absolutely loved Lottie and G. and the side characters were amazing and knowing this is book 1 and we’ll be blessed with more books makes me so happy. 🥳 Both characters are sunshine and they were so f cute! ☀️FMC is a plus size girly and I absolutely loved reading about that. 💕 MMC was the sweetest guy ever 🥹 I enjoyed reading about their love story - ups and downs and everything in between. And the smut 🫠🥵 The book is full of letters and that’s a big + for me! 💌 Also it has perfect descriptions of places and I could easily imagine everything and we all know how much I love that. Also, Lottie and G. are soulmates!!! 💛🫠 And I know you won’t think that while reading but just keep reading and you’ll get it! 🥹
I really really recommend this one and hopefully you’ll love it as much as I did! 💕
I want to thank the author/s for reaching out to me and gifting me this ARC!
The FMC is 17. Seventeen years old. Seriously. There's no reason why these characters couldn't have been a few years older, I can't fathom why an adult would want to write explicit content about teenagers. Pls don't waste your time with this. Seriously. This reads like a 16 year old's Wattpad fantasy... Not a single line of dialogue is realistic and this needs serious editing. Why oh why would someone write an explicit book about teenagers!!!
I first off have to say that I absolutely think that this debut novel slayed! These ladies are killing the New Adult with a twist game. The story kept me so intrigued but also swooning and fanning myself at the same time. I loved the err of mystery surrounding certain elements, but also the fun loving nature that shined though! It was a great mix of serious and exciting!
Lottie and Greyson (whom we met in the novella Make You Miss Me) are serious couple goals from the start. She has some insecurities and G makes it his job to show her how worthy of love and affection she is. They both share a traumatic past that of course doesn’t stay in the past.
Greyson’s character is a phenomenal mix of teenage boy with a serious side of maturity! I loved getting to see both sides of his character come out in the proper moments (hello possessive…jealous and protective). Lottie was as sweet as they come but life circumstances are making her grow up fast and the support of G is everything. She begins to stand on her own two feet and realize that her voice is important and deserves to be heard.
There is a mix of so many tropes that end up working so flawlessly together that really created a beautiful love story.
This is the first book in the Make You series. There is a novella prior to this book & you meet Lottie in that one. This one is Lottie & Greyson's book & I loved it. I was excited to get an ARC for this. It's so sweet, spicy, & angsty. It does take place in high school, but it doesn't feel like a high school romance. And at the same time, it does in the best of ways. If that makes any sense. Greyson & Lottie meet at a Halloween party, which we see in the novella Make You Miss You, but this time we get their perspectives.
Lottie is so incredibly sweet & is struggling with some body insecurities. She's a beautiful girl with curves. But she doesn't see herself that way. Even with her best friend Ashley telling her how amazing she is, her nagging grandmother is in her head constantly belittling her & telling her she should diet & lose weight.
Greyson, this brooding & possessive man, is so loving to Lottie & wanting her to know just how beautiful she is. He's captivated by her the moment they meet at the Halloween party.
I honestly don't want to give a lot of information about the book because I do recommend going in blind.
My favorite part of this whole book was seeing Lottie truly love herself & become the confident & beautiful woman she is.
*Tropes 🏫High School Romance 💖Curvy & Virgin FMC 👩❤️👨Friends to Lovers ☀️Grumpy Sunshine 🏘️Small Town 📍Takes place in NC
You know that saying that people usually say along the lines of "we don't need validation from anyone & we should love ourselves," yeah, I think that's a bunch of baloney. More often than not, there's a driving force of someone that helps us gain our love & confidence in ourselves. They push us & believe in us to see our true beauty. Especially if you have been bullied or felt unloved growing up, having someone in your corner & showing you what love truly is, is an incredibly beautiful thing. No one gets to where they are able to love themselves without the help of others.
I am never trusting Tik Tok again, they put one scene and make it seem like it’ll have pining but no, i’ve read better written books on Wattpad, the writing was so cringey i kept skipping parts, I hated the baby girls with a passion and I’m a CM fan. Honestly my 12 year old sister could’ve written something better. I hate to be that person who cares about the writing of a book because i’ve read my fair share of bad written books but this one is just too much even for me.
Eekkkk! Make You Love Me by LA Shaw was amazing!!! For their first full length novel it was certainly a page turner!!! I could not put it down, I’m seriously invested into their storylines and I cannot wait to read more.
Lottie and Greyson are high schoolers entering senior year and meet at a party during their summer break and it’s an instant connection. Lottie is a plus size, sweet, innocent girl where as Greyson gives off these bad boy vibes but deep down truly is such a sweet soul with a dirty talking mouth 😮💨 they spend the summer together but life eventually catches up to these two- nothing but twist and turns along the way with chemistry and some pretty damn good smut! This isn’t a PG high school romance, you get all the feels- cause normally I’m not too fond of HS romances but this book blew my mind. It reached above expectations. We get introduced to old characters (Ashley and Trent, from the their novella Make You Miss Me) and some pretty awesome new characters!! Who I’m hoping are getting books as well.
The storyline!!! Was amazing, I predicted one part of this story but was shocked by the others and it just kept me wanting more! Overall I was pretty damn happy about this book and like I said i can’t wait for more!!!!
A 5 star review from me ⭐️⭐️⭐️⭐️⭐️ I can't belive this is just @book.obsessed.babes 2nd book..... I ADORED Greyson & Lottie's story. Lottie was so strong after everything she has been though! The way Greyson just adored her from the beginning melted my heart, the way he got her to see herself the way he saw her ❤️ I'm super excited to see what side characters are going to get books as I feel they all have a story to tell 💕 #l.ashaw #makeyouloveme #lottie #greyson #books #bookish #booklover
Review of Make You Love Me by L.A. Shaw * * * * * A summer fling with a building burning romance faces troubles from a lie, a jealous cow, a manipulative grandmother and expectations.
Lottie is a curvy beauty stuck with her horrid grandmother who has nothing to say to her besides crudely stating how her weight will affect her chances of landing a wealthy husband and how she is an embarrassment to her high society friends. Lottie is also dating a guy who is just as nasty towards her figure, but he also happens to be a great way to piss off said grandmother. That is until she meets Greyson. He sweeps her off her feet. He's handsome and kind and is a master of dirty talk. He not only says and makes her feel beautiful, but he shows her. As the summer is ending, Lottie is faced with a sudden change and after a fight with Greyson, she is met with a horrible shock when another girl answers his phone. Time goes by and Greyson wonders what happened to Lottie, only to be met with her being the new student at his school. She's angry and loathes him. He's clueless and just as burned. Getting passed the manipulations of others, there is another lie between them that could truely tear them apart for good.
Loved the growing climax of their love in the beginning of the book and get hit by the sudden break near the middle. You fall in love with their own romance so quickly then have to watch them try and piece it back together. Then there is the letters! Oh my goodness they were just perfectly placed. Especially the final one.
Lottie and Greyson will make you believe in love and fall in love again
While they were young it brought me right back to falling in love at a young age where it's fast, all consuming, and you never want it to end
They broke my heart at some points and I really hurt for each of them. They both have some heavy pasts that they need to work through
This was a page turner for me, these two are end game, soul mates, lovers by fate, and the definition of true love. I loved the lust, and true connection they had towards eachother
Greyson😍 The way Greyson boosted Lottie's confidence, making her feel unashamed to be who she is and helping her work through loving herself 🥰 swoon for G swoon. He has been added to book boyfriend
Lottie is such a beautiful sweetheart of a human and likeable from the beginning you just want the absolute best for her and you hurt when she hurts (also side note I love this name)
I connected to these characters almost instantly. (I met my hubs in high school and it reminded me how we fell in the beginning)
This was steamy, spicy, heartfelt, and full of swoonworthy moments, and suspenseful plots
I was halfway through reading on KU and immediately purchased the paperback because I knew I needed to own it
This is L.A. Shaw debut novel and it seriously blew me away. I was hooked from the beginning and read it in less than two days. I can't wait to read what they release next
Lottie and G stole my heart. We all need that special someone in our lives to remind us that we are perfect no matter our size and to always be there to tip our chin up with the reminder of just how beautiful we truly are.
These two meet by chance at a Halloween party. Sexy playboy bunny and a hunky tattooed Batman. What comes after is anything but chance. Call it fate if you will.
She was a sweetheart and just wanted to be loved. No strings attached, fully and completely. The one family member she had in her life would gladly ruin her world to gain stature in her own. Her bestie Ashley was her true ride or die. The one always there for her, until Greyson that is.
He had hurts and a past. Some shameful in his eyes, but none the less his own. He didn't shy away from his past, but also didn't linger in it. He had a dad that wanted only the best for him, a cousin and boys that were his partners in crime. Just waiting for his Pretty Girl to come into his life and ride the waves with him.
When you find your person, you don't let them go. Despite being so young, these two navigated their relationship so well. They were so stinking adorable together. Soulmates. Anchored together.
This was everything I needed and more!! I absolutely recommend reading this book (and the novella before this) to get you out of a book slump or just to dive into a good book. L.A. Shaw wrote great characters in her book. Greyson Greyson Greyson! 😍😍😍 I absolutely fell in love with Greyson in this book. Not only was Greyson giving off possessive, dominant man in this book he also helped prove to Lottie that she was a beautiful person inside and definitely out. I enjoyed reading about Greyson and how much he grew and helped Lottie gain her confidence. Lottie is such a good character as well. If you read the novella before this you know Lottie had a few insecurities with her weight but she has lost all that negativity and now loves herself even more. I love Lottie in this so much we didn’t get to see her as much in the novella so I’m happy she for got her own story! Aside from the main characters every side character was enjoyable! The young love and the drama was so good in this book. The spice was a 4/5 for me! I can’t wait for the next book to come out! Most times while reading this i forget that this is a high school romance. The characters are so mature in my eyes. I enjoyed everything about this!
I need to buy a physical copy of this book. I read it in one sitting, it kept my attention throughout the entire book and I loved all characters except of course, freaking Ethel and Amber 😂
Lottie is a freaking sweetheart and I love that she was the curvy hottie that had all guys drooling. She was humble and enjoyed the little things even though she came from a wealthy background.
Possessive, alpha male Greyson…good lord was he hot and for a guy who doesn’t do relationships and doesn’t double dip twice, he ended up being an amazing boyfriend to Lottie. He wasn’t perfect and there were times (you know which ones if you read it) where he really deserved a smack in the face lol
I cry when I think about Greysons dad and how he lost the love of his life but holds on to all the memories he made with her even after so many years. I wish things were different and they could have reunited but that’s just not how the story goes. I love that he will always love Leah till his dying day. ❤️ and it’s pretty fucking amazing that their kids got to live their happily ever after.
The last letter from Lottie was so dang sweet and the perfect end to the book!
I definitely need to read more from L.A Shaw!

Greyson and Lottie are the very definition of unconditional love! I related so much to Lottie, always trying to be what is expected of her and being so insecure because of other peoples opinions. Greyson can't fight the draw he feels to Lottie his first time seeing her and that is something completely foreign to him. He doesn't do attachment, but for the first time he wants to! I'm not very good at reviewing without spoilers but I try. If you love a man that loves a a beautiful curvy girl and just wants the girl to see herself the way he sees her, then you need to read this book! There is miscommunication, meddling, loyal friendships and a love so deep that a love that came before they were even born anchors their souls! Can't wait to read more from this awesome duo of authors! That's right two best friends that are now sharing their love of books with us readers! Thank you, keep these stories coming because you now have a loyal fan!
This was just so meh and high school to me like we had conversations such as
Whatever you want to keep telling yourself, Amber. No one takes you or any of the Jock Hoppers seriously,” I say, earning a big “Ooo” from the crowd .“Jock Hopper?” she questions. Feigning innocence as she did a few months ago, I answer, “Oh you didn’t know? That’s what everyone calls you and your friends… so desperate to hop from one jock’s dick to another.”
Shit just sounds so stupid and like honestly embarrassing to say out loud. I think the book had elements of fun but to me I didn’t rlly like the smut nor the plot so yeah. This book also mentions Megan Quinn and I just hate contemporary references like they always age poorly like mfs need to start referencing fucking Shakespeare or J.D. Salinger damn. I think I liked the fact that she was like thiccc, like she was obviously fine asl but that was kinda it. Overall very mid, high school, and forgettable.
A cute romance featuring Greyson and Lottie. When Greyson and Lottie met, neither of them was really looking for anything. But their eyes met, sparks flew, and a connection was forged. Immediately, these two knew that they had met their soul mate, and honestly, I absolutely loved them. These two were cute and made for each other. They definitely had trials, and their relationship was tested, but this couple could not be denied. If you’re looking for a cute, but at times angsty, summer romance, this should be your next read!
I first met Grey & Lottie when I read the Make You Want Me & Make You Keep Me duet and knew I eventually had to go back & read their story. I’m glad I finally had the time to- this one started a little slow for me. But once I hit around the 35-40% mark I was hooked. I loved how gone for Lottie Grey was and how much he showed her he loved everything about her. He was ride or die for her which I love to see. I did NOT see the little twist at the end coming but I enjoyed it. I’m going to continue on my back list trek soon with Trent & Ashley’s novella.
Listen, hear me out, I loved this story. I loved the Insta love between gray and Lottie. I love the angst and the reconciliation. I love the banter and the friendships of the other characters too. but the one thing that just kind of irked me is that they were still in high school they’re 17 and 18 when the storage took place and though yes they were drinking and partying and the store did acknowledge their age. It was still a little offputting for me, but other than that, I absolutely love the story.
4.5!!!!!!!! omg i adored this book. greyson and lottie are sooo shannon and johnny coded if u like binding 13 this is a must read!!!!!!! writing was a tiny bit immature but i’m never a stickler about that because i’m lowkey a slut for immature/shitty writing. idk makes things more fun. there was so much drama i’m obsessed literally couldn’t put this book down because i always knew something else was going to happen!!!!!
Wow what a great book. I really enjoyed this story. The story line starts with Lottie and Greyson meeting at a party at the beginning of summer. They hit it off immediately. During the storyline you think one thing is going to happen but then the complete opposite does. Lottie and Grayson has their ups and downs. Highly recommend this book
