The starship Aria is under attack. Within a matter of hours, the crew of thousands is decimated.

This continues to be one of my favorite sci-if romances. Tarek is absolutely perfect and I still love how Clary grows and becomes this powerful being.

****5 “My One” Stars****
Clary lives her life on the Aria studying plants and animals. Her ship is one of 5 with all that is left of humans from Earth. An unknown violent alien race attacks the vessel killing almost all of her crew. Tarek is the commander of a warrior race who happens by and saves the survivors. One scent and he knows Clary is his “ONE”.
Tarek was one of the most perfect heroes I have read about. He treated Clary with respect and honor and did everything in his power to make her comfortable. He was in so much awe that he had found his mate after YEARS of giving up hope that he was not destined to find her.
Clary was a great heroine. I love how it didn’t take her long to accept Tarek and she didn’t fight the pull. There was only one moment where I wanted to shake her. I understood where she was coming from but my heart went out to Tarek and I wanted him to have the life he had only dreamed about and she was ruining it! She did come around and thankfully it didn’t take her long so I wasn’t annoyed with her too much. I loved to see her grow as a person and a leader as well. She went from being shy and timid to ready to lead her people and his.
Sci-fi romance is one of my favorite genres and I absolutely loved this story. I was engrossed and engaged the entire time. The world building was great and the warriors are perfect. There are plenty of interesting side-characters and couples to come. I am looking forward to all of their stories. Andi and Olhen’s story is next and I can’t wait!
This is my first book by this author. I am looking forward to reading her MC series and I can’t wait for more in this series.
My only complaint…it ends in a storyline cliffhanger…UGHHHH. I need the next book NOW!!!

Totally LOVED this story! So glad some of my GR friends found this book!
Lately, I am really stingy with 5 stars, but I just could not find a reason not to give one based on my enjoyment of the story.
It was everything I wanted a PNR to be!
Tarek was a fabulous hero. Protective, sexy, sweet, patient and all alpha!
Clary was pretty awesome too. I loved seeing her become more of a bad ass. She totally kicked ass by the end!
Zero spoilers needed since it had zero triggers for me or anyone I can think of that reads PNR.

My thoughts:
When I read science fiction I expect good world building, interesting alien characters, and a great storyline. When I read romance I want a protective, possessive, and awesome male lead that knows what he wants in a female and goes after her. I want a strong female lead that will bend but knows her own strength or grows into it over the book. (I know I don’t ask for much). I tend to have a hard time finding subgenre romance that truly do justice to both genres. I feel as more romance author’s delve into Science Fiction and Fantasy/Urban Fantasy and if they are not fans of the genre on its own without the romance aspect. They have no idea what makes these novels great and why fans love them. They plop in a character type call it an alien turn it purple, add a ship and holy shit we have a science fiction novel! Nope sorry doesn’t work that way. While this works for those readers that just like to read romance it leaves those readers that are fans of the other genre’s feeling cheated and pretty grumpy over all. (at least I do maybe no one else!)
All of that being said. This book is NOT in that category. She did a fantastic job with the world building (one gripe the actual alien world could have been described a little more) but the alien race was well built, their politics, habits etc. It also had my absolute favorite romance trope. Soulmates with no OW/OM drama. They communicate (mostly there has to be some drama). While I do not mind instalove it wasn’t actual instalove more instalust. Maybe on the male’s part, it was instalove as he is the one that knew she was his one but the female is human there was no insta anything on her part. He had to work to gain her love and her trust. I loved the political subplot and how it is currently being resolved. I do see that the next book is a different couple and I actually wish it was not. I love the main characters of the first book and I know their story could be continued with the political storyline. What I am hoping for is that it is formatted like Aleana Alder’s Commander series. Where each book is a different character but the main first couple is still HEAVILY in each of them as the main storyline progresses. I think it is an interesting format and the world she has created would not only do justice to it. The books would be better because of it. The ending is a story to be continued (not a cliffhanger).

I did enjoy this book. Good plot & author has a good flow to her writing. I came to care for her characters. I thought some of side characters were bitchy.
Heat level was hot. No sex sharing.
The H/h were awesome together & separately. I love a badass H who is protective & loving towards the h but doesn't loose his strong alpha personality. h was likeable. She was a good mix of strength, intelligence & vulnerability.
There was a lot of repetition in the last 1/4 of the book but the last 4 chapters were so good.
(not true w/ updated version) But there are glaring writing errors: words are missing & at times it was difficult to determine who was speaking. Dialogue wasn't spaced out of internal narrative.
I'm very excited to read Andi's & Ohlen's story which is up next.

I HATE it... I hate it when female authors write sexist books that exhibit male chauvinism.
It is very subtle and between the lines. You blink, and you miss it.
But if you look closely, you can clearly see the underlying issues. The way the author writes, it feels like the world is moving backwards, not forwards, not even in a book that is based in future. Not only is the book an account on prejudice and discrimination against women, but it is also illogical and makes no sense.
Take, sterilizing-women-by-removing-their-uterus for example. First, why only women? You do know that children are equal parts of mother and father. So, what is to stop stupid men from procreating? Next, why removing uterus? That is excessive and unnecessary. What happened to good old fashioned tying up the tubes?
The other thing I didn't like about this book is the women turning into beasts. I thought the entire purpose of floating in the space was survival. And then, humans don't even survive. They mutate into another species. And they are okay with it? Not only that, but they also encourage others and actually give information for Sarazens to find more of their kind? Why? To turn them into a different species? For that matter, why would Sarazens want to find another species to share their planet with? And most importantly, what about men?
Now, let's talk about the inconsistencies in the character's actions. One minute, the women are enraged at having to be on the hunt, the next, the heroine is forgotten that. Also, why is the hunt important for a species that can scent their mates? First, the men are fighting to take over the alien ship (because it is so easy taking over 7 feet warriors and they did so well the first time around when they were 6000 strong) and then, suddenly they are not in the picture at all.
The author has introduced concepts to bring an element of drama where convenient (like growing back a uterus and captain raping one of the women - how is it supposed to be possible on a ship of 6000 is the question) and bent her concepts where inconvenient. Apparently, scenting mate is paramount for finding them, but the fake queen can very easily fool the king. Or take the hunt.... women mad, women shift, women happy. *rolling my eyes*
One other thing I don't understand is why to add a component of sci-fi in this book. Because clearly, it has no bearing on the story-line. It only adds to the plot holes. Take understanding the language, for example. Humans know no aliens and Sarazens know no humans, but they speak the same language? Never mind the fact that there are thousands of languages spoken on earth itself. The book is clearly lacking any and all descriptions and explanations involving space, so why does the romance need to occur in space?
I didn't even like the romance part of this book. It felt inconsistent and insincere.
As I write this review and realize all the things that I didn't like, I keep wondering why I gave it even 2 stars, and maybe I should degrade it to 1 star.

I enjoyed this story quite a bit, particularly the "fated mates" take on feline shape-shifter/aliens. The interactions of Clary and Tarek were fantastic. He is all gentle alpha-male and she grows considerably in confidence - and otherwise - during the course of the novel. I enjoyed it enough to read more.
However....I had two main problems with this book. One, there are large gaps of description, technology and background - and even, at times, consistency. They bothered me (magically understanding alien languages anyone?). I wanted to know more about the Sarazen, the discrepancy of their technology, their world, how Earth died, how long the humans were wandering space, the attack at the beginning, etc. But only a third of the way into the book I began to understand that these answers were not going to be forthcoming. Luckily the romance was enough for me to continue. This lack of information feeds into my second complaint. In most ways, this is a paranormal shape-shifter book taking place on an alien planet. If you are looking for interesting, creative, detailed, or realistic sci-fi that is an integral part of the narrative, you will have to look elsewhere.

I found this surprisingly good. I have not had great success in finding good alien tropes that are written well and this one was. It had a great storyline, mature character development and I ended up wanting to read more when I finished.
There were only two things that kept this form a 5 star read for me. First was the hero worshipped the heroine a bit too much. I know that sounds crazy but I just felt it was a bit overboard. For those readers who love a completely devoted hero, you are definitely getting that with this series.
Second, the heroine turned out to be a bit too dominant towards the end of the book. It made perfect sense for her storyline and her role in the new society, but I also would have preferred it toned down a bit. These are just purely personal things for me as a reader. I highly recommend this to anyone that enjoys the alien tropes.

This is my 4th book by this author In 2 days so I'll say somethings working for me.
Here we have alien feline shifters.....I kid you not! H saves h when her ship is attacked and most of the people on board are killed, one little sniff later he realizes she's his mate. Now the h started off a bit timid but whoa does she transform. One blood exchange later and before we know it she's the female Alpha in charge able to call the animal in experienced shifters.....a bit of stretching on the believability but none the less entertaining!
Both non virgins, considering how old he is and how long he's searched for a mate I'm thankful no details were provided. It ended abruptly so I'm assuming it continues on in the other books so moving on.

Genre-wise this is an alien fated mates shifter romance it's well written and the second book I’ve read by this particular author. Initially, when I first started this and we had all the devoted fated mate pairings with very little conflict involved I’ll admit my hopes we not that high but this actually turned out to be so much more than what it first appeared and once this story evolved further the conflict within the storyline instantly propelled this onto another level.
It’s set in a future where Earth is no more and the remaining population roam the stars searching for a new home. Clary is one of a bunch of human survivors that are rescued by the Sarazen's when their ship is attacked by a hostile alien species. Upon meeting Tarek who is the commander on the Sarazen warship he instantly proclaims her his one. Tarek’s people are feline shifters and have only one true match and he has been searching for his for a very long time.
This had passion and devotion and plenty of intrigue it’s the first book in a series and I’ll definitely be picking up book two next. If you like a totally devoted and protective male then this is the story for you as Tarek definitely had that vibe in spades. Clary was also a pleasant surprise and she slowly builds and showcases the inner strength that as always been integral to her character. Her bond with her new mate giving her the confidence to finally shine.
Excellent world-building and so much scope for future books was shown here and I’m incredibly excited to see what else this series might bring to the table. I thought I was mostly over the fated mate trope but this one managed to easily capture my imagination.

No, the formatting is not the problem for me, the formatting is fine.
I love science fiction and admire those who can write it because it seems to me, to be a very difficult task for an author to create a believeable futuristic world with believable technology and creatures.
This had none.
The first hint this was not going to be a good read for me was the "slimy, grimy, snake like" aliens that attacked the ship. Really? This is the best you can do for a descripton?
Then the "wicked" knife that Tarek pulls out. Then the "Big" knife he pulls out. Top it off with the heroine hiccupping as she crys... at 5% she's already cried twice.
The entire beginning was told not shown, and told very fast with limited detail. The ship had just undergone a serious attack and the surviving crew is left watching the devastation. This should have been detailed, acton packed and emotional, yet it was nothing of the sort. It was described as if one were reporting the weather.
I unfortunately did not find the world building to be promising at all. Doors sliding up? Into the ceiling? The med bay was "similar to the one on her ship." well, we never got a description of that so a "big room" just didn't do it for me.
The real kicker was the language thing. They were speaking and understanding each other without any problems. Then they give the h a drink which magically enables her to understand them. How is it that they were understanding each other before the drink?
No this is not for me. Sorry friends. As much as I wanted to like this book, I personally cannot get past the above mentioned. I'm sure the romance is great, but I need a little more to my sci-fi reads than this.
Don't hate me. This just wasn't for me.
I gave two stars when in fact it probably deserves one because I can appreciate the author's attempt and it appears to me the author is new to writing, perhaps even self published.
Just not for me.

This actually made for a really great alien sci-fi romance. Usually in this genre the books tend to have similar fell to them, but this one had a lot of unique attributes. I loved the world created, and the characters were very detailed and complex. I also appreciated this being a "safe" read. No OM or OW drama. It was a very sweet romance. The aliens were completely devoted to their mates. The only reason that I'm not rating this one a solid 5 stars, is because the ending felt rushed in my opinion. I will definitely check out more of this writers work though, and I appreciate it being offered as a kindleunlimited.

Also, before those readers who liked this book a lot go:" Off with her head!” allow me to express why and which things in this book made me so livid, that I refuse to indorse it by providing a rating.
In the Alien Mates genre, why is it than whenever catastrophe befalls human or alien civilization it is women who get short end of that particular stick? Why is it that it is women who become infertile while nothing, not even nuclear explosion or pathogen seems to affect little swimmers? (now it is official – 3 things will survive any type of disaster: cockroaches, Twinkies and sperm). Someone, please, for the sake of equal sexual misfortune, at least on occasion turn studs to duds. But no, that would cut the romance short and will not sell books – the most vital ingredient of these fantasy worlds we are reading is a presence of the imposing aliens with fully functional VERY IMPOSING SHLONG.
So, we accept rationale behind those catastrophes, as they supposed to make women appear special and extremely valuable. However, in terms of adversity heaped upon women for the sake of intergalactic fantasy this book sunk to the lowest of the low. In this particular scenario on board of the starship carrying a group of survivors of the Earth, looking for a new home, women were systematically abused and raped, did not stand up for themselves and had no-one to stand for them, no justice. But that is not all - women who did not score high enough to be suitable as breeders were sterilized by having all of their reproductive organs removed! In other words, the human race that was sophisticated enough to achieve stellar travel could not come with an alternative birth control methods other than mutilation and enslavement of significant part of their population. WTF!!!! So, what happened to the men who scored low? Gelding comes to mind – equal opportunity, right? Or were they even tested? Well it seems that according to the author’s imagination even in the future, no brain or character is required to be on the top of food chain for as long as you have a penis. Could the author create anything more repugnant? Hardly. Which brings me to the next point.
The same women who were terrorised, raped, abused and mutilated by their own shipmates had temerity to throw a hissy fit and become indignant at the idea of “being paraded like cows “in front of the potential mates. How appropriate was comparison to livestock! Except sheep would have been more fitting. Later in the book they discovered their backbone but it appears that to assert her worth a woman requires 7foot alien warrior with proportional package. Piff.
You may think that I am overreacting, of being unreasonably harsh – after all, it is fantasy. You are absolutely correct, it is, but when I find author’s vision of humanity so vile and an extent to which those visions affected my reading experience of this book – well, it is deffinitly not my kind of fantasy.

Without a doubt, this book is definitely one of the top 5 books I've read this year. It was so refreshing and different but still had a lot of similarities to other series that I adore. And I cannot praise the heroine enough; she was strong and courageous and everything that I love in female leads. The secondary characters were also amazing and rounded out the main characters perfectly. I wish I could re read it again for the first time- thats how much i loved this book.

Pleasantly surprised by this read, had me smiling and curling up in my sofa once I was finally able to put work down.
I liked the development of the heroine. The main characters worked well together and individually.
I haven't had much luck with any romance reads lately so I'm glad finally I can say I really enjoyed this read.
Downloaded the next book in the series as soon as I finished this one.

Absolutely loved this.
It would've been 5 stars if it were edited better and written a little clearer. I had to guess who was speaking most of the time.

Let's be clear, this is an over the top science fiction romance romp. Its silly. I liked it a lot.
The pacing and world building are solid as are the the over all plot and character development.
What I really adored were the hero and heroine.
The hero is a complete alpha man but never ever disrespect the heroine's person. In fact, he encourages her to become alpha herself in some cases putting him in check. Good times.
And he is a cat shifter alien prince warrior. Come one! Love it.
The heroine is too good to be true and just gets better with every page which is the silly part but it is still grand.
There is a baddie and he get everything he deserves and there is no lingering.
The alien baddie also gets hers.
All the next books are set up and I can't wait for them. Yea!

2.5 could-have-been-so-much-better stars
I actually did enjoy the story of Sarazen's Claim, but I could not in good conscience rate it higher. It still needs a good editor. There were so many wrong words (like to instead of too), missing words, and unclear pronons. The book could have been shorter, particularly the section of their time onboard Tarek’s starship (which dragged)—could have been streamlined and given more the perception of an action-packed plot.
Having a weakness for sweet, smutty sci-fi romance, including some sizzling love scenes, I will probably check out the next one. It is just sad that the stories are already out there in this condition when they could be so much better.

Alien shifter scifi romance, Hs know Mates as soon as they scent them. (No cheating.) Good world building, kept my interest. Both points of view. Liked both the Hero and the heroine. The Hero always treated heroine with respect, not to say he didn't mess up a time or two though. LOL!
The story line was not resolved at the end of this book, so to be continued. The couple was already together with their HEA. Don't know whether the next book will continue the story arc with the same couple or different couple. Normally, I might want a different couple's story but I enjoyed this couple so much that I am hoping it continues with them. However, it is, I will continue reading the series. Secondary couples were interesting as well.

OK so this is a sci-fi alien mate story. It ain't Shakespeare. But I just loved this crazy story. I have really enjoyed a lot of alien mate stories with Kindle Unlimited but this one stands out. While most of these types of books follow a familiar pattern, this one broke all the rules. It had romance, space ships, alien planets, political intrigue. All the good stuff.
I LOVED the MCs. Tarek was an Alpha with a heart of gold. And Clary was amazing. This woman was no pushover and I loved watching her transformation to the perfect match for her mate.
I don't want to include too much detail because this one is too fun to read. You need to find out all the twists and turns for yourself.
There are some editing issues. The dialogue is messy and sometimes it's hard to tell who is speaking. There were some spelling and grammar errors but nothing I couldn't deal with. And the cover is awful. It really doesn't give an accurate impression of what this book is. But for a KU book, it is a definite winner! I can't wait for book 2.
Edit: looks like this has been removed from KU. I'd say it's worth the purchase price to buy it.

Earth is no longer there survivors are travelling the Galaxy on five ships. When one is attacked by hideous creatures it seems there's no hope until they are saved by another alien race of enormous alien shifters. Their leader Tarek immediately imprints on Clary a botanist. She's very wary at first of this large male who looks like he could snap her in two with one hand but she gradually comes to trust him. He promises to help her and the remaining human crew and take them to his home planet where they will be welcome.
I really liked this story there's great world building, the characters are very easy to connect with. The story moves along at a good pace with plenty of drama and intrigue. The relationship between the two leads is believable as are the characters. This is definitely not a stand alone story I hope the next book is not too long in coming.

4.0-4.25 RATING- The first half of this book was a 5 star read for me. I loved it! I loved how protective the aliens were of the humans they rescued, I loved how they growled and purred and the instant connections that were made...A complete guilty pleasure! The second half wasn't as strong but was still enjoyable. I just didn't enjoy the focus on the intrigue in the second half as much as I did the initial meeting between the aliens and humans (even though I think that was the natural progression of the story). Still, a very solid sci-fi read. I'd recommend to any readers that like alien romances. Fans of the Blue Barbarians series come to mind specifically. Not the same story but hero's that are as wonderful as the Blue guys =)
One note: This doesn't have a HEA. More what I consider a HFN. That being said, if I never read more of these two characters story, I'd be happy with how things left off. The intrigue/suspense part of the plot line is what wasn't concluded with this one.

I'm marking this as a cliffhanger even though the author is trying real hard to pretend it isn't, because it basically is. It's a "happily for now" but there is no resolution to the predicament that the author spent too long on to claim it as a satisfying ending. Sure, you got rid of one bad guy... but then there's another 20 pages about the continuing threat and then whoop, the end. I just think it was a terrible place to end it. There is a lot of build up for that threat and then.. nothing. Either cut it shorter and send secondary characters off to deal with the continuing threat once it is discovered, or take the time to eliminate another head of the snake and end it by sending secondary characters off to deal with the continuing threat. This shit cuts off mid-convo. AGH!
Okay, aside from the atrocious ending that is equal to -0.99 star, there were a lot of editing issues. A few times there was just straight up the wrong word used (amble instead of ample), a ton of misplaced commas and not one instance of the word "too" being used correctly. So -0.01 star for that brings us to 4 stars. I know that sounds weird, but I refuse to rate this book less than 4 stars - I actually gave it 5 at first, but then after bitching about the ending and the editing, I figured I should change it. 4 it is.
But this was 5 star entertaining. I couldn't put it down and really enjoyed the cast of characters, the romance, and the action. I'm not sure if I'll read the rest of the books, I don't like jumping to different characters for each book. I'm just gonna pretend they had lots of babies and lived happily ever after ruling their cat alien universe the end la la la can't hear you I said the end.
This will probably be the only book to ever grace both my "fucking cliffhanger" and "favorites" shelves.

I mostly liked it but damn it needs editing = 2.5*
I try not to expect more from a book than is reasonable and to judge it accordingly. And I think not surprisingly I am not expecting a lot from a space alien/animal shifter meets his human mate book. It just is not a strong genre. But I do like it if the words used make sense in the sentences they are in. Sadly that is not always the case in this book. And yes I have the "professionally re-edited version". I have to think the author might mean she ran it through Microsoft word and since the words are English words she did not bother to check that they were actually the word she meant. This is true for all three books. Things like "intimate object" instead of "inanimate object". Rather a difference in meaning.
The story was interesting enough for what it was. Having read all 3 books I understand why she wanted Tarek and his warriors to be so long lived but she failed to flesh out the practical issues that go along with that. I liked the couple ok in this book. I certainly won't remember it all next week though.

I love alien mate tropes! This has a lot of sweetness with regular sexy times. The ending is happy but the plot continues in book 2.
My issues:
If the aliens had never seen humans before, how were they able to talk to each other right from the start?! They even tell her they are implanting a language translator, but she is communicating before it happens.
Dialogue was all over the place so I had to reread to figure out who was speaking. The spacing wasn't uniform and that detracted from reading as well.

Lovely romance. The aliens are a nice (almost too much!) feline shapeshifters.
Terek, the hero is almost too perfect! She's honest, nice, tender, protective - you tell it, he has it! :)
I also liked the heroine, Clary. She, who never aimed to command, is thrown into a commanding role by circumstances (as one of the surviving officers).
First she's overwhelmed, but she soon accept the responsibility and at the end she's become an uber-alpha female! What's there not to like, right? *wink*

Ironic
So humans have lost Earth and now are set adrift in space. They come upon and alien race that prey on weaker beings. Then the Sarazen people come and save the day. As we see the humans and the Sarazens come together we see that all is not right in their culture.
Overall I was enjoying the story, the culture and the characters. I'm a little disappointed that the story didn't continue on the same path with these characters because there is so much going on.
