Stolen and adrift, I’m held prisoner by Captain Hook.
Peter warned me about how ruthless and terrible the monstrous pirate could be, but there was so much more he left out. Hook isn’t just the vicious captain of legend, he’s a man who confuses me and terrifies me all at once. But that’s not the worst part. By far the worst is when he makes me feel things I shouldn’t.
When he gives me looks that make me want to combust.
When he touches me.
When he holds me close.
James Hook is a villain, a killer who will stop at nothing to get what he wants. I’ve seen it first hand. So why do I seek him out instead of running away? And what will happen when Peter finds me with his greatest enemy?

Now this story already got weirder as soon as I found out about the age situation of mister Captain hook. He is wayyyyy older than her and I got so uncomfortable.
I honestly liked Hook in the beginning but over the course of this book I was getting more and more annoyed by him because both him and Peter are kidnapping her over and over again and somehow no one is telling her anything.
I am sorry but wtf. I would be getting way more mad and not finding out anything about why I am here and why I have been kidnapped by the villain and the hero of the story. On top of that there are so many sex scenes that have very questioning consent scenes.
Ohhhh do I love me a fierce and sexy Captain Hook…I knew this one would be delicious! When Moira is taken by her pirate, I had a feeling it was our handsome Captain, and it was! Peter of course turns out to be a little shit, but I won’t give away why. The important thing you need to know is that Hook has a silver tongue in more ways than one, and I love it. Moira does too, the lucky tart! Anyway, we ended on another cliffy, so instead of my usual long review I’m gonna go read book number three, k?
This book was a lot better than the first one. Guess my type really is the villains who aren’t the villains. The story was a lot better with the MC with hook throughout this whole book compared to Peter in the first. The spice was there, was a lot of build up but for the book being less than 300 pages it comes quick and was good. I’m excited to read the final book in this series and see how it ends but so far I have enjoyed the twists and turns especially on the classic fairytale we may know from Disney!
I loved this book so much more than the first. James Hook has got to be my favourite 😍 can't wait to read the final book. My only gripe is that it could of been kne book rather than split in 3
Man, I blew through this. So originally I was like "meh," with the first book. But this book was much better because it actually had swashbuckling adventure moments and a sexy morally grey captain. The second installment has some Court of Mist and Fury vibes to it... Which I was somewhat anticipating tbh. However, this was a 3.75 ⭐ for me because the plot development seemed a bit sudden or jagged. Moira has a ton of potential as a character but just doesn't seem as flushed out as I think she should be. She comes from a highly educated background but barely thinks through her decisions. She's very hot and cold...one minute she is like, "I need to get out of here, he's trying to kill me" (even though she has zero evidence) and the next minute she's touching herself in a bathtub. There weren't any moments or gestures that really create doubt about Hooks character minus him just keeping her alive. I think if Moira was a more developed character she would've needed more from him to convince her to open her heart to him than is actually written. Not to mention her loyalty to Peter seems extremely forced. I really like the concept of this story and the ideas the author came up with but it's not well thought out. I can see elements of other successful books being added in just because they were popular but don't necessarily add to the story or character development. It's still a fun simple read and the spice definitely went up a notch but overall it's not the same caliber as other romantic fantasy retellings.
Oh, definitely mind the cliffhanger too.
Things to expect ✅ Taking care when sick ✅ "You touch her and ☠️" ✅ Forced Proximity ✅ Morally Grey Villain ✅ Mental health topics ✅ Paper thin walls 😉 ✅ TW: Attempted SA
Better than the first book. Here it’s all about Hook, and her time with him. It annoyed me so much how she was so against Hook while he saved her life multiple times. She believed everything Peter Pan told her about Hook, which turned out to be lies because Pan is a manipulative bastard. But it got on my nerves sooo bad that she would always try to run away when she has no clue where to go, and kept saying how Hook will kill her while he was saving her life. I don’t know, like I understand it in the beginning but after a while when it’s so clear that Hook is only helping she’s still being a bitch. In this book the plot started to improve, but I also preferred this one to the last because we finally meet the love interest and their romance starts.
Oh I can’t believe I read this as fast as I did. I just knew I was going to love Hook. James is every bit of the villain everyone says he is, ruthless. Moira is not sure she believes what she hears about Peter. So who really is the Villian? Ugh I need book 3 now. This series is amazing and I’m totally hooked on it and I can NOT wait to see what happens next.

This second book in the series was just as enthralling as the first! I’m so taken by these pirates and Moria and the magic of Neverland. I got lost in this story every time I picked up my kindle to read and I love when a story evokes that kind of emotion from me. 🏴☠️ Captain James Hook…he is such a complex character and I absolutely loved how he treasures Moria. He’s that kind of alpha anti-hero that gets my heart racing. He’s broody, dangerous, foul-mouthed and sensual. 🏴☠️ And Moria! Our heroine, to see her growth from book one till now is extremely satisfying. She’s really coming into her own and ready for the battle ahead. 🏴☠️ That cliffhanger 😭😭😭 I’m so emotionally torn and I CANNOT wait to read book 3 when it releases!!! I have so many questions and I just need more of our sexy, smirking Pirate 🥺😍 🏴☠️ *follow my bookstagram on IG for more reviews and recommendations! ✨ @thatbookishbaby
Great second installment of this Peter Pan retelling! Great chemistry with slow-burn sexy times between Hook and Moira. The author created a great bunch of secondary characters in Hook's crew. And that cliffhanger - whew! That is the reason I never start a series before the author has published all the books... I'm too impatient!
My only complaint: Although Moira seems to trust Hook isn't going to kill her, that's only in about the last 25% or so of the story. I understand why she doesn't trust him - he admits he is a pirate and a villain! - but after all he's done for her, she should trust that her safety is a priority.
I'm off to download the last story in the trilogy - can't wait to see how it all wraps up!
The second book ramps up the romance, violence, and plot twist of this series. We start to see deeper into the mind of Moira and really start to understand Hooks side of the story as well. A lot of our questions answered from the first book, but I have just as many by the end of the second book. I am SO excited to see how this ends. Personally I'm team Hook, curious if anyone disagrees. The only reason I didn't give it a 5 star review is because there are a small character development things that felt rushed, or weird/out of place. HIGHLY recommend if you are looking for a Peter Pan retelling for adults.
I am tremendously enjoying this series! And it's not at all what I expected from it. Part one had me raving about Peter but scratch that, Captain Hook is all you need to know and he will capture every feeling you might have whilst reading this book.
Also, I'll blur this next part if you don't want spoilers but I need to vent about it.
And then the cliffhanger! Again! Thank god I also own part 3, haha. So, on to the next! :)
I will have to say the second book was better than the first book, in the first one Peter Pan gave me creepy vibes and in the second book I was team Captain Hook. The only downfall in the book is Captain Hook is supposed to be a sexy, handsome pirate but I can’t unsee the cartoon version of Captain Hook. I try to picture him as the book describes him but I think cartoon Captain Hook will forever be in my head. Other than that, I really like this version of Captain Hook, he’s still an evil villain but also has a soft heart. He’s caring, and cares for Moira deeply. But there is still so many unanswered questions, I can’t wait to read the third book and see how it all ends.
this one was DEFINITELY better than the first! i actually love hook as a character, and his entire crew is super fun too. i think i like widow the best though 🤭 (give me more widow, i demand more widow)
while there was more action in this one, it still followed the same pattern of “don’t leave moira!” *oh no she left, something bad happened, and someone had to rescue her!!!* except for this time the rescuer was hook instead of peter. so like, idk i wish there was a little more substance to the plot and stuff, but i think the whole “boon” thing is a really cool concept and i’m looking forward to reading the third one 😋
So Peter Pan is bad not to me though and Hook is nice not to me though the Hook parts for me were not fun to read for me they were most of this book so I wasn’t enjoying myself especially the smut scenes I like the Peter Pan parts but he is my favorite character
A Sea of Risk and Ruin: Stars: ⭐️ ⭐️ ⭐️ ⭐️ ⭐️ Spice: 🌶️ 🌶️ 🌶️ Holy crap 🌶️ the spice 🤌🏻 I had to stop and reread a few parts not because I didn’t understand lol. But because I was like damn I need to reprocess this again. Whew! 😥 I’m loving the villain/hero dichotomy and finding out more about the world of Neverland. On to book 3.
These books are well written. The characters are brought to life in a wonderful weave. I recommend the books to all who are interested in dark fairy tales! Waiting for the third one to arrive on my Kindle. Enjoy!
OH MY GOSH!!! This book is SOOO SOOOO GOOD!!!! Adventure, intrigue, INTRIGUE, lots of secrets, LOVE the characters, EVERYTHING is TOTALLY AWESOME!!! . HATE that it ended. That was a bit of a jolt. I am holding my breath til the next one comes out!!!
If I thought the first book was amazing the second in this series has surpassed my expectations!! Full of raunchy pirates, sex, lies, and crazy secrets. Can't wait for the 3rd!
I’m absolutely loving this series. The first one started off a bit slow and by the time I got about 50% in, I realized it was a slow burn with a morally grey chara with the good guy who’s actually the villain. 10/10 recommend!
This book definitely was a lot more than the first with more character building but more secrets. We get some answers but not nearly enough. I definitely love the relationship thats building between the two.
I am mildly dissatisfied with the ending. Is she physically or mentally in Neverland??? Did Peter rape her and she wasn’t phased by it? Also could really use without the detailed sex scenes between Moira and Hook
This entire review has been hidden because of spoilers.
This is the second book in the Never and Night series and its much better than the first. I really wasn't impressed with the first book but it ends on a cliffhanger so I had to read this one and I'm glad I did. The story turns into an adventure love story and again, this one ends on a cliffhanger.
AH dit was zo leuk hihi. De fmc is echt verschrikkelijk maar ik HOU van Hook en dit was echt zijn boek dus mij heb je blij. Ik vond gewoon alle peter pan elementen superleuk en dan met een dark twist. Loved it. Maar het was trashy af dus 3 sterren ruim voldoende.
