Mickey and Ben were searching for the cure to boredom. After one too many drinks the obscure back-page sex ad somehow sounded appealing. The old man seemed kind enough. His frail, weathered body was no longer able to please his wife, and selflessly, he hoped that the boys would. He just wanted his Bessie to feel pleasure. He wanted it so bad that he needed to see it with his own eyes. When it was all over, the evening of debauchery felt like a distant nightmare. The only problem was, it was a nightmare that neither Mickey nor Ben could awaken from… This volume contains 8 interior illustrations. This book contains graphic content. When I was young and single, I was friends with someone I worked nightshift with. One night, we were talking about pick-up lines, and this is probably the best of them: “You go up to a girl and ask her if she has a boyfriend. If she says Yes, you ask if he likes to watch.” That one made me laugh my ass off. Of course, I don’t know if it would have worked – I never had the guts. No, not the line, just going up to a girl I didn’t know and starting a conversation. I was awkward back then. I’m still awkward now, but I’m also happily married and have made peace with the fact…
Anyway, THE CUCK by Aron Beauregard was something new for the author, since it takes place in the UK. All-in-all, I think he handled it pretty darn well. There wasn’t a single time I thought: Blimey, this bloke is blowin’ the lingo, innit?
Fuck off, I ain’t British, but in my country we are much closer to the Queen’s English than the American, so I would like to think that I have a fair idea of how they sound.
But, back to the book – take two horny guys, give them one drink too many and then send them on their way, with ads for sex workers all over the place. What do you think is going to happen? Here’s a clue: there’s no knitting involved. But someone wants to watch…
Aron takes his sadistic imagination and puts it to good use in this story where there are no guns but, boy oh boy, will there be violence. One scene in particular made me cross my legs rather lady-like.
So, yeah, not for sensitive readers, and Aron Beauregard is not the author you want to start with if you haven’t read extreme or Splatterpunk before. You can’t handle it…he WILL fuck you up.
No spoilers. 4 stars. Warning to some readers: This review contains explicit sexual content...
Getting drunk and kicked out of a pub, friends Ben and Mickey decide to answer a sex ad in a magazine:
CALL THIS NUMBER FOR FREE FUN MEN WHO DON'T MIND LARGE LADIES A MUST...
Mickey didn't want to call about the ad, but Ben was a pervert and a sex-crazed maniac...
Arriving at the address...
The young men parked at the curb on a dark street. The house looked like the home of a serial killer...
They stowed their condoms and prepared to enter the house with the rusty key that had been left for them. They went in and shut the door to total darkness...
A candle at the top of the stairs revealed a leathery old man wearing coke-bottle glasses...
He led them to one of the bedrooms...
The old man told the boys that they could have as much fun with Bessie as they liked, just keep the noise down...
Bessie was huge...
She was so large that she wouldn't be able to roll out of the king-size bed without help...
Her layers of belly fat drooped over her genitals and she was blindfolded...
This was one for the record books...
The situation wasn't ideal, but the boys were too wasted, and it was too late to care...
Ben went at her first while the old man sat watching and wanking in the corner...
Mickey was next...
He enjoyed his turn with Bessie. The larger the woman, the better for Mickey, but looking at the old Cuck (Cuckoo) in the corner...
His eyes looked darker, deader, and blacker...
Afterward...
As the boys were leaving, the old Cuck walked them to the door, drool escaping over his crooked yellow teeth as he said:
Come again...
But the boys didn't plan on seeing these people ever again...
Yet...
Mickey couldn't get the old man out of his head. His were the eyes of oblivion. He was a picture of dread, and his eyes were as the gateway to damnation...
One sh*t choice had drawn the boys into this nightmare black hole...
Aron Beauregard is one of my favorite authors. He doesn't just throw blood and gore and other gross things at the reader. He also gives you a pretty good plot. This story was no exception, although I liked the first half better than the second.
Warning to some readers: As I stated at the opening of my review, there is explicit and graphic sexual content and language in this novella.
After leaving the bar one night, Mickey and Ben find a flyer stating to "call for free fun. Looking for a man who doesn't mind larger ladies." Mickey is skeptical, but quickly talked into it by his more adventurous friend. After calling the number, they head over and let themselves in as instructed. They are startled by an old man, who introduces himself as Bessie's husband. He assures the two friends she is much younger than him, but things are no longer working properly for him "downstairs" and that he wants to make sure she's taken care of. He adds that he also loves to watch her be pleasured, but not to take any notice of him and to pretend he's not there. Even though Bessie didn't mention this on the phone, and they are hesitant to let the old man join in the room, they ultimately acquiesce. What waits for the guys upstairs on the king mattress can only be described as a "behemoth," wearing a blindfold - but nonetheless, the drunk pair get down to business. Everything goes as expected, and in fact, Bessie quite enjoys her time with the two men, but they are very put off by her creepy husband and hightail it out of there. The next day, Ben calls Mickey, frantic. He tells Mickey how he invited a girl over, and once they went to the bedroom and started to have sex, he felt the old man - who he calls "The Cuck," watching him. He says he looked in the corner and sure enough, the old man was there, watching them. Only, his date couldn't see him... And when they finished, the man simply vanished. Mickey doesn't know what to say or think, but when the exact same thing happens to him the next night, he knows something is very wrong.
-------------SPOILERS PAST THIS POINT--------------
The only thing the friends can think to do is ask Bessie, but when they get to her house, she tells them she doesn't even have a husband... What they are dealing with is far more than a man who enjoys watching his wife be pleasured by other men. The Cuck is not a man at all, but a demon, not unlike a parasite, which latches itself onto you typically during sexual acts that are more bizarre and extreme in nature. And anything sexual at all will summon it to you, once attached. Appearing in the room with you during sex to watch is only the beginning... Soon it begins to manipulate your mind and force you to mutilate your genitals. Can the friends find a way to rid themselves of The Cuck, or are they doomed to a sexless existence?
Well that was a quick and fucking troubling read. Not as gory as plenty of the other books I've read, but definitely massively disturbing. Aron Beauregard certainly knows how to get under your skin and takes joy in it. Great read, but erm yeah, pretty nasty lol.
So, Aron has come to the UK for this one! I'd say it was nice to have you, but you went and brought that creepy as hell, motherfucking Cuck with you! 😲
Mickey and Ben answer a backpage ad for free 'fun' after a night out in the pub, but nothings ever really free is it….? And boy do they end up paying….. with their sanity! This was creepy!! Really fucking creepy! You'll get the feeling of being watched, long after reading! 👀
This felt like one of those folk tales you tell your kids when you dont want them doing something, in this case, having sex (Im now a born again virgin after reading this!) One of those creepy tales that get passed down through the generations and told around campfires! It was haunting, tense, dark and deep. And did I say creepy….?
A quick and highly entertaining read, that can be read in one sitting, and once you start it you probably will read it in one sitting, as it grabs you by the balls, literally, and doesn't let go!
Absolutely YES to more creepy Cuck please Aron!! 🔥🔥🔥🔥🔥

This is a funny short story, like a laughable funny one. Aron Beauregard I missed your writing so muchh 😭😭😭😭😭😭😭😭 This is just a short story where two friends commit a laughably stupid sexual decision, then because of that a demonic monster came to haunt them for the rest of their life everytime they have sexual intercourse so the only thing they have to do to stop he haunting of the demon is to just.....BE CELIBATE 😆
AND THEN THERE'S THIS GROUP OF SURVIVORS OF THE DEMON AND GUESS WHAT?????????? THEY'RE MOSTLY ASEXUALS BECAUSE THE NORMAL PEOPLE CAN'T RESIST TO HAVE TO STOP HAVING SEX FOR THE REST OF THEIR LIFE.,
This is literally "Too Hot To Handle" on Netflix, but instead for 'not having sex for a cash prize' its 'not having sex to not die in the hands of a demon'. Just a quite funny, eerily similar connection that I noticed :DD
Cuck (noun): A man who derives pleasure from watching his partner have sex with someone else.
Sounds harmless enough…
This story starts off weird and only gets weirder… in the best way. A couple of guys answer an ad for a sexual encounter with a plus-sized woman, only to find out her husband likes to lurk in the corner and watch. Classic cuckold setup.
After that night, things take a turn for the bizarre, creepy parasitic old man included. The atmosphere gets under your skin, and I’m not even kidding when I say: if I ever see someone who even slightly resembles that man in real life, I might just swing (I’m sorry). Like seriously, imagine having sex and having the guy on the cover staring at you. No, thank you.
Mickey, bless him, is actually a sweetheart. Beauregard does a great job of making you care while also creeping you the hell out. The tension is thick, the horror is unexpected, and the pacing is on point.
Also? The illustrations were phenomenal. Unsettling and weirdly fun. I want more books with them, please and thank you.
And I’ll admit: my mom always said sex was the devil’s work. After reading this, I’m not sure she was wrong. No more sex. Sex is bad.
Wow this was disappointing and not at all in the realm of what I thought it would be.
I was hoping for a fun book, where two dudes show up for a good time, under weird circumstances that obviously involve a cuck. Based on the cover I expected the cuck and maybe even the woman they came to see, would be some kind of supernatural creature, which they then would have to fight for survival from. I thought it would just be a fun supernatural bloodbath.
But it wasn’t. I mean it did have some gore, and it was supernatural and it did have that awkward situation to an extent. But… it was not executed well in my opinion. For it being so short, I really feel like what the author ended up trying to do just didn’t work. Not to sound like a know it all. But he really should have went for something more simple, and faster paced. Or in the very least, maybe this should have been longer and more fleshed out.
There was no atmosphere here, no creep factor, the stakes didn’t feel high, even though they were in fact life threatening. The writing was also disorienting as the author chose really unnecessary and complex ways to word rather simple seeming sentences. The very first line of this book is an example of that, and that’s basically where I knew this might not work, much to my dismay. I was really looking forward to this. It was just trying to be vulgar and graphic just to be vulgar and graphic. But at the same time… it wasn’t even that extreme.
Also there are illustrations in this. Some of them could be illustrations of such good scenes. But literally all but one of them is just the characters literally just standing there. Doing pretty much nothing. At all.
There was also a violent scene in here that had nothing to do with the cuck, and just felt like filler, as it added…. Nothing. Those pages could have been used for atmosphere. A creepy scene. Anything else than what they were. I get this is a short story even for a novella, but I was hoping to see better use of page space tbh. This is also where the only twist in the book is revealed… and it just wasn’t surprising and fell flat for me.
I think maybe this author just isn’t for me. I know he’s highly praised among extreme horror fans. But I’m not one of the ones that understands the hype. I’m sorry!
Imagine doing the deed with someone you are attracted to and suddenly feeling a demonic presence in your room—a distinct smell of rot, an entity in your peripheral vision, watching and sniffing. Scary stuff.
This book will bring you discomfort. Not too gory or bloody, but it will definitely leave a lingering scent of fear.
Yikes. When drunk, please just stay away from shady stuff.
I can’t say there is anything about this book that I enjoyed.
Pros: It took me an hour to read.
Cons: I didn’t find it scary, it was only slightly disturbing, and I was mostly bored. I think it’s meant to appeal to men’s basic stereotypical fears: being in a sexual situation with other men, being with a fat woman, something happening to their dicks, and being forced to be celibate.
A short, fast paced story that is effective and leaves you wanting more. This would be a great intro to Aron's work as it's not quite as extreme as his other stuff, but still holds his knack for storytelling. I really enjoyed this one!
CALL FOR FREE FUN. LOOKING FOR A MAN WHO DOESN’T MIND LARGER LADIES.
He was aware that the ad, while still in circulation, was no longer a viable candidate for him.
The Cuck wasn’t bothered by the revelation; he knew that there were plenty more ads to pick from. And he took comfort in knowing that every month or so, there would be a brand-new batch pressed.
Ben and Mickey are some drunk mates. Wanting to get into some shenanigans, they call a back ad that advertises, “Call for free fun. Looking for a man who doesn’t mind larger ladies.” Well, they see this as a sign to dip their straws into some strange kool-aid. What they don’t realize is THE CUCK is right there, watching their every… thrust. When Ben and Mickey start to see him even after their evening with Bessie (as in Bessie the cow? Clever!), things go from bad to worse.
This one surprised me. Not for anything bad but because it’s not a typical Beauregard and I loved that. There is gore and really, really disturbing parts but this is pretty tame in comparison to others such as THE SLOB, WEDDING DAY MASSACRE, and even SEW SORRY. It builds on suspense, fear, and downright sense of dread. THE CUCK is unnerving. From the atmosphere to the descriptions, this book made me get through it as fast as possible so I could move on… here’s the spoiler, you won’t. It sticks with you and THAT is the most impressive part.
Absolutely his best to date and only coming in at 76 pages, this is a must read for Beauregard fans or just fans of dark, creepy shit. Either way, you can’t lose.
Available now on Amazon and soon as bundles directly from Aron.
This book played like a movie in my head while I read it. I thought this was different from the author's previous books because it focused more on the creep factor. There's plenty of gore, but that isn't the main thing I got from it. I want to know more about The Cuck though, I need answers! lol
After a night of drinking, Ben and Mickey wanna keep the good times rollin! So, they find an ad on the back pages of this large woman looking for fun. They head over for what they assume is gunna be a great time. When they get there, her husband asks to watch and he goes to the corner to take his seat.
Once the deeds done, Mickey and Ben leave and put it behind them. That is until they try to be intimate with someone else, all they can picture and smell is The Cuck.
This was hilarious! I had such a fun time reading this! Mickey and Ben are hilarious and a perfect example of why I don't drink anymore. To not to dumb shit anymore! 😂 Super short, hilarious, super fun! Definitely recommend!
This was a great read that distracts from the beginning, taking you to a world where I can only imagine to be a terrifying ordeal for a man. I suppose the same could happen to women but not quite In The same way. Two friends have a unexpected encounter with a cuck, and life just isn't the same after that. Lives destroyed through mutilation that that is nothing short of devastating. Great characters and great storyline. Definitely recommend
Two friends go out for some drinks. End up calling a number on a backpage ad. The story gets very creepy. It's a short read. I feel like this is a haunting story, but an extreme haunting. I can't wait to read more about The Cuck.
3.5 stars I never truly know what to expect going into Arons books. He never disappoints delivering twisted WTF moments. I was grossed out, shocked, and it was awesome. I really enjoyed that this was on the shorter side, a quick read to get out of a slump if you love extreme horror.
The Cuck....what a premise! Never did I think i'd read a horror novella about a demon cuck. Honestly, I found myself laughing through the story. Some of the quotes I pulled from this were honestly some of the best -
"Pounding away at her meaty muff like a stray dog that had found a fix."
I guess this is truly what must scare a lot of men - forced celibacy. Ben and his friend Mickey respond to an ad from a hefty woman looking for a bit of fun. She's ready, naked and blindfolded. Her husband, an old man who basically pimps her out, all he wants to do is watch. Yeah, creepy as shit. They plough that wagon, so to speak and go home. When they attempt to be intimate with someone else it all goes to shit.
Interesting! Not what I was thinking going into it. Actually, I didn’t know much at all going into The Cuck. I just wanted to read more by Aron Beauregard!
This is a weird concept and honestly kind of creepy. It wasn’t as extreme as many of Beauregard’s other novels but I’d say it was one of his scariest. I just wish it was longer! There was a lot more that could have been done with this idea.
Finally ended my reading slump by finishing “The Cuck”. I really enjoyed this one. I must say that this is my favourite Beauregard book to date. It’s much less graphic and gratuitous, and more creepy and slithery… it gets under your skin (no pun intended). Without revealing too much, fans of the movie “It Follows” will enjoy this one. It’s the shared aspect of this book and that film that I wish this book went more into… but there is a sequel so perhaps that’s where the idea of having a slimy cuckold STD passed along from person to person will be explored more in the book’s counterpart. It’s a very easy novel to read, not that deep in terms of themes, but a very fun time!
Well, this was just creepy as fuck!! Honestly, I am not sure I will be having sex anytime in the near future. And I am thanking the all-mighty Gods, whoever they are, that I don't like creepy old men watching when I do. And if it was a fantasy of mine to partake in Aron just blew that right off my bucket list. Fucking hell, I am not even sure I want to walk into a dark room alone. I am just gonna go sew my Happy Flaps up and call it a night.
