She was a beloved princess. I was a heartless bastard.
I was supposed to save her.
I wanted to ruin her.
My need for her was sick. Twisted. It came from a dark and dangerous place.
But I wasn’t the only one with sadistic desires. The Brotherhood had plans of its own- a game they wanted to play. They wanted to break me, break her, break us.
I dared them to try.
This is not a love story. You've been warned.
This is a dark secret society series which may contain content triggering to some people. PLEASE READ CONTENT WARNING.
Darkest Hour is book three of an interconnecting series. While it may be read as a standalone, it is highly recommended that you read Mischief Night and Hallowed Eve first.
Abruptly and surreptitiously swept off to New York City by Grey Van Doren, Anniston Radcliffe, Princess of Ayelswick, finds herself captive to Chandler Carmichael.
With an intertwined history, Chandler and the new order of The Obsidian Brotherhood intend to use her as leverage. This arrangement not only furthers their agenda, but metes out the revenge Chandler has been seeking for more than a decade.
The sweet, albeit naïve, princess proves herself to have a backbone of steel making her a formidable love interest for the tortured Chandler.
I’ve said it with each installment so far, but it bears repeating. Delaney has a remarkable gift for weaving an intricate story with perfect balance. I'm anxious to learn more about what happens next with The Obsidian Brotherhood, but dreading the inevitable conclusion to such a compelling series.
Rating: ⭐️⭐️⭐️⭐️1/2 Burn: 🔥🔥🔥🔥 Darkness: 🖤 Heat: 🌶🌶 Range of Emotions: 😩🤨🥵🫣🥰 Ending: HEA POV: 👫🏻 {Dual}
⛔️ Warning: This book may cause blushing, squirming, combusting panties, and/or self-care.
⚠️ Safety Squad: There are some triggering elements. If you have any hesitation, check the warnings before diving in. Otherwise, blind is best!!
📣 Type: Darkest Hour is part of The Obsidian Brotherhood series. It will be best enjoyed after reading Hallowed Eve, but can be read as a standalone.
NOTE: There is a brief timeline overlap with HE. I loved that the overlapping timeline provided different perspectives for this particular event. But as such, there would be spoilers.
🛑 Be Advised: My Goodreads shelves are … explicit in both senses. As such, they could be considered spoiler-y.
I've been waiting for Chandler's story and I didn't disappoint. He is broody and alpha to the extreme. This read was packed with twists and turns that brought this story to life. All of the men in this series have darkness in their souls. Chandler's was some of the darkest and it made him who he was. Ruthless and unforgiving. Dark and delicious.
Anniston Radcliffe the Princess of Ayelswick is sent to New York and thrown into a game she knows nothing about and is ultimately at Chandler Carmichael's mercy. He along with his other friends in the Brotherhood have a plan and she will not make them sway from it. His revenge comes in a pretty package.
She was raised to be sweet and demure, but he will bring out her claws. She refuses to back down and pushes back. His mask will fall and he will see what's perfect... right in this fancy penthouse. I adored her. She is brave, stands up for herself and is gracious.
The push and pull between these two was spot on. Their chemistry was pure fire. His one liners of dirty talk were perfection. I wrote mic drop in a note with one of hers! So so good!
I am beyond excited for the next story!! I am so captivated by Grey and knows his book is gonna slay!!
“I’m not the good guy here to whisper sweet things and make you feel good. I’m the devil who will push you down onto your knees in the middle of this room full of people and fuck your pretty mouth until you can’t breathe. Then I’ll bend you over one of these tables, bury my dick in your ass and watch your hands grip the edge until your knuckles turn white and you’re begging me to stop.”
Um….yes please! It’s definitely safe to say that Chandler is my favourite out of the brotherhood so far. I loved him and Anniston’s relationship so much. I seriously want a Chandler in my life.
thank you to Delany Foster and Wildfire Marketing for this ARC in exchange for an honest review!!
now y’all know i loveeeed the first two books in this series so i was literally so excited to get this ARC omg!!
tropes! 👇👇 -hate to love (🔪 to the throat scene 🥵but not ENEMIESSSS to lovers yk?) -billionaire romance -tortured hero -innocent but strong herione -heroine who is a literal princess -🔪🩸 k!nk
chandeler🥵🥵 where should i start?? we start smack bang in the middle of his trauma and it made me so sad for him omg. i loved how anniston made him happy cause past trauma but happy guy now combo is just chefs kiss💋
honestly this might have been because i read the first two books a few months ago, but chandeler didn’t feel the same as he did in the first two books! he kinda felt like a different person. not in a total bad way though cause i still really enjoyed this. it was a little less steamy than the others (lots more tension😩😩) and i personally didn’t love the plot as much as i could have but that doesn’t mean i didn’t love it! i honestly loved this a lot, just not as much as the other two books. still a 4.25 star read thooooooo! love this world
also, i was under the assumption that Liam and Grey got a book…..but the authors note?! what!!!! i’m on the edge of my seat for what happens next omg
It’s safe to say I think this series is my favorite series I’ve read this year ! Chandler and Anniston’s story is dark intense and consumed me this whole series is dark and so sexy I definitely found a new author to stalk ! This story is absolutely addicting and a page turner and I think just might be my favorite I highly recommend this series if you haven’t started it yet you need to immediately!
“I think the perfect princess wants a dirty villain” ➖➖➖➖➖➖➖➖➖➖➖➖➖➖➖➖➖ Oh what a tantalizing and tangled web of secrets and sin Delaney Foster weaves! I can’t get enough of The Obsidian Brotherhood books that began my love affair with Foster’s paralyzing prose. Darkest Hour is everything! It’s not only what I wanted but needed in a dark romance that’s equally savage and sweet. A heady hit of hate, heat, and heart that’s utterly addictive!
This saga stars a devastatingly handsome devil of a prince, and a beautiful and bold princess whose lives become entangled in the hottest of messes. Chandler and Anniston are inevitable, two moths to one burning flame, blurring lines between captor and captive. Their romance dances in dark and dangerous territory, making their bond passionate and powerful. Prepare to be blown away by a brilliant book that burns with fire and feels along with a hero and heroine that burn together!
Dark, gripping, heartbreaking, and heartwarming, Darkest Hour is a MUST-READ ROMANCE. I was bound to this beautifully broken book that bled into me, stealing my breath and hitting every emotion. This romance owned every ounce of me and I surrendered wholeheartedly to its power. I felt alive while reading this deliciously dark delight, a thrilling roller coaster of a read that thrust my emotions to the edge at every turn where I was left aching for more.
These books all start out so good and by the end I get the cheesy one liners that just make me cringe😩🙄 Like DAMMIT! I’m over “I licked that fucking pussy” “I fucked that fucking pussy” and the anal…I like anal as much as the next person but COME ON! It has been the exact same in all 3 books! The whole plot of these books is phenomenal! Secret disgusting society of creepy sick old men being taken down by their sons and saving the world while still being assholes but the writing leaves a little bit to be desired. HOWEVER I will be reading the final installment because I have to have Greys story!
Ani and Chandler were pure fire. I was completely engrossed in the amazing chemistry and connection these two shared. Chandler was pure darkness, but that didn’t deter Anniston for falling for her villain.
Anniston may have been a Princess, but she wasn’t a delicate flower and I absolutely loved that about her. Their connection was quick, but it felt so real time didn’t matter. I adored these two! I’m so excited to read Grey’s story.
4.5 ⭐ Thank you to Delaney Foster for an ARC of this book. All opinions are my own.
PLEASE CHECK TRIGGER WARNINGS BEFORE READING.
I was introduced to The Obsidian Brotherhood by a friend and have been hooked ever since. I've been lucky enough to get an ARC of Lincoln's book and now am over the moon that I get to be part of her ARC team. When I tell you that she delivers in this series, take it as gospel. I thought I loved Caspian, then Lincoln came. I thought I loved Lincoln, well now here we are with Chandler and let me tell you, Chandler has some serious darkness in him.
Characters:
I loved Anniston as our FMC, she's been raised to be poised and seen but not really heard as the Princess, but when she's left with Chandler, her inner badass comes out. She questions everything and challenges Chandler even when he tries to keep her at arm's length. Chandler has a dark past, as do all of the sons in The Obsidian Brotherhood, but he's held onto it as his armor and uses it as a weapon to run his underground world with an iron fist. When Anniston comes into his life, he wants revenge, but ends up wanting to own her in every possible way instead. He also has what is now one of my favorite swoony moments which I will NOT SPOIL, but as a reader, I'm 100% sure you will ALL swoon over this act. The biggest thing I look for in books is character growth and I'm thrilled to say that both Anniston and Chandler have it in spades!
Story:
Delaney's writing is phenomenal! The story keeps readers on the edge of their seat while reading about this twisted world. There are a lot of triggers in these books, but I'm glad that Delaney doesn't shy away from them. It makes the story grittier and really drives home the evils lurking behind every corner. I love, love, love that the second generation (Caspian, Lincoln, Chandler, Liam, and Grey) are moving in almost a vigilante way to right the wrongs of their fathers. They're systematically taking down the brotherhood to rebuild it in their likeness and I AM HERE FOR IT!
Spice:
Guess what, she can write smut too! I mean, duh, if you've read any of the other books, you'd know that. Chandler and Anniston's sexual chemistry and tension is hot. He has no problems taking what he wants and Chandler has a mouth to back up his heated looks.
Quotes:
"I think the perfect princess wants a dirty villain..."
"...Which brought me to here; walking into my apartment today after work with a bag full of shit from Barnes & Noble, all because my dick couldn't seem to want to leave this woman alone."
"Her pain was mine. Because I knew how to master it and turn it into pleasure. Her tears were mine. Because I appreciated their taste. He body was mine to mark. Her soul was mine to take. And if there was one truth I embraced, one doctrine I lived by, it was that I protected what's mine."
While you can read each of The Obsidian Brotherhood books on their own, I wouldn't recommend it. The storyline interconnects beautifully and you'll be missing out on some key backstories if you don't start from the beginning. If you're good with the triggers, you'll thoroughly enjoy this dark romance series. Last, but certainly not least, I'm still calling dibs on Grey 😜.
Another awesome read in this ongoing series. The characters are even more sinister than ever their sons are more powerful ,dark, broken, and dangerous, They choose women that will embrace all things that make them who they are.
Anniston and nicknamed Ari was a spitfire of a character even with being a princess and protected she faced her challenges head on and the spirit of a warrior. We really loved the woman we got to know and once she learned the truth that was hidden from her her whole life she wanted to be part of the solution and the change.
Chandler is mysterious and dangerous and is more powerful than many might think the man has made a name for himself in the underworld and is a man to be feared and one that is very connected and the reckoning is coming for those who deserve it.
Ari and Chandler's relationship was unusual to say the least but, no matter the circumstances the fierce attraction between this couple as well as their chemistry will not be denied. A woman who craves the darkness and the man who is soothed by the light of a woman.
This story was filled with mystery suspense, betrayals, greed, and men consumed with power and money who embrace their sick passions. Love a good story where a character embraces their darkness but, seeks to do good things for the right reasons. Ari a princess did not get the fairy tale she always dreamed about but, she got the fairy tale that was right for her and her knight might be tarnished but, he was all hers.
This ongoing plot heats up each and every time and the children of these villains will make each and everyone one of them pay for their sins if they have anything to say about it. The men who fall in love with the woman who except their darkness are sinful and passionate and everything a girl may dream in private but, never dream of obtaining.
4.5. Stars Chandler and Anniston’s story in this deliciously dark series is another suspenseful, action packed HOT story with plenty of twists and turns to keep you on your toes! I LOVE the vibe of this book and series so much. The author has created this world of secret societies, brotherhood’s, conspiracies and such intricate secret plans that come together so well after the surprise twists are revealed. The pieces finally fit at the end and it’s so satisfying! I love the the captive aspect of this story, I love the opposites and enemies vibes. These two are explosively HOT! Such a great book and series!! Decadent, smart and sexy AF!
Deviously Dark and Deliciously Dirty, The Darkest Hour will capture the top spot as your favorite Obsidian Brother’s story yet! I mean that is what happens to me every time Ms. Foster releases another book in this unforgettable series. I fall harder and harder for these guys. But holy hot hell y’all! 🥵🔥🥵 Chandler and Anniston relationship is just on a WHOLE OTHER LEVEL! 💀 Chandler Carmichael, who BTW we have all been salivating 🤤 over since Mischief Night, is our unapologetically ruthless and powerfully possessive hero. He is all kinds of sinful, yummy and secretive. He’s alpha and broody. 😈 He’s protective and oh my gah just so flippin hot and deliciously dirty and dominant. I love how he can make me growl in frustration 😫 one minute and have me practically panting for him the next. 🥵🥵He’s carrying just enough trauma and darkness from childhood to make him the perfect tortured perfect tortured alphahole we all want to redeem. Let me kiss it better, baby. 💋 When Anniston Radcliffe, Princess of Ayelswick is taken from her home and flown to New York the limited information she’s given leads her to think everything is okay… at first. That her Father, step mother, and brother are all on board with whatever lies ahead, so there shouldn’t be cause for worry right? Very quickly after her arrival she realizes she knows absolutely nothing about what the plans are for her and that maybe she doesn’t know who she can trust after all. It’s more than obvious she’s found herself in the middle of some sort of game of revenge and she doesn’t know who all the players are. She’s just merely a piece on their game board to move around as they see fit. This beautifully innocent and sweet captive finds herself at war with her feelings. She is frustrated but she’s also fierce. She’s scared but brave. She’s maybe a little naive because of her upbringing but also just calculating enough to try to help herself. Each day her undeniable connection to the enigmatic man controlling her captivity grows stronger. Is this all just animal attraction and chemistry or is this something deeper? Does he share these same feelings or is this all part of his master plan to use her until he doesn’t have need for her anymore? Chandler and Ani were pure fire people. 🔥 They are everything I love about overwhelming tension. The will they won’t they and come on hurry up and give in to the feelings already. 💥🧨 I live for the loathe filled lovin’ that only a good enemies to lovers or a captor/captive romance can give you and you get both and more with this. But their journey is so much more than just their physical heat and explosive chemistry. This has heart and depth, darkness and twisted stuff, it grabs your feelings and sucks you in. 🤎 I love the healing our characters go through with each other. This book is just so phenomenally incredible. I’m absolutely obsessed with this series. I will take a trip into the darkness 🖤 with Chandler any hour of the day, any day of the week and twice on Sunday!! All the freaking stars in the sky for The Darkest Hour. ⭐️✨⭐️✨⭐️✨⭐️✨⭐️✨⭐️✨ Blog|Facebook|Instagram|Goodreads|BookBub|Amazon
Gahhh!!!! This series is getting better by the minute! I never want The Obsidian Brotherhood to end, and actually hope for Delaney Foster to write another series with a second generation of the brotherhood as soon as this one is completed. Could you imagine what their kids would be like? Swooning ❤️❤️❤️
Darkest Hour is where we get to really know Chandler and his demons this time. I was already overwhelmed with admiration with him from the first book Mischief Night and craving to know more about his aloof and cold yet commanding attitude. Chandler and his Little Rebel, Anniston, had such an electric connection that I was hooked immediately. Their enemies to lovers story is full of back and forth, angst, and heartfelt desire. Their intimate moments are so hawt that my kindle almost melted into a puddle (especially their first intimacy🔥🔥🔥🔥🔥). Let me just say this is one book you don’t want to skip, ever!

Delaney did it again! Chandler and Anniston’s story gives my Hades and Persephone vibes and I love it. Anniston is Princess of Ayelswick and daughter to King Winston. She is taken and held in the custody of Chandler. You might think she is a naïve princess but throughout the story she definitely grows into her own, especially with the help of Chandler 🥵. Chandler is the King of New York’s underworld…Hades in a 3 piece suit! 🧎🏽♀️The plot twists and secrets that are revealed makes this book an instant page turner. I can’t wait to read Grey’s story!
This book was no less amazing than the prior two. Chandler, the one I never thought would find his light to his darkness, unwillingly found Anniston. Their story is dark, tragic, beautiful and will leave your heart full at the end. The layers, the steam (holy hotness),the emotions ….. it is all in here.
Definitely read TW/CW has dark themes for the faint of heart. Has themes of SA, dubcon, captive, trauma, and more so read responsibly.
This book definitely has a nod to the Hades and Persephone reference. Since Chandler refers to himself as Hades or the king of the criminal underworld and we do have the Princess of Ayelswick. She is held captive here in the hands of Chandler as he tries to bring down the Brotherhood along with the other previous characters in this book.
Poor Anniston just is a confused individual who thought she was supposed to be betrothed to the Prince of Norway, but she is involved in something much bigger and she now has to dance with Chandler's demons. Although she was a princess she doesn't get to be pushed around by his broody ass as she tries to escape him and well it's not going well.
Chandler just wants to break and corrupt her till she gets ruined as part of his revenge, but yes, yes Chandler's filthy mouth is just to die for. Pretty much slow burn until you get incinerated.
If you do love Haunting Adeline, you will love this series, but you would need to start from the beginning.

Every villain has their story, & Chandler’s was so good! He really surprised me, I didn’t expect to like him as much as I did. Anniston doesn’t have any idea who her father really is, or what her mother did to Chandler. When Anniston is brought to his apartment for him to “babysit” the last thing he expects is to fall for his princess. Her mother took something f/him years prior & all she was suppose to be was part of his revenge. But she got under his skin & saw his darkness but also his softer side- the one that protects the people his trust & cares about. Darkest Hour starts right off, & the action doesn’t stop! It immediately grabs you & keeps you hooked until the end. I’m really enjoying this series & I can’t wait to read Grey’s! I was most curious about Lincoln’s, but I’m most excited for Grey’s!
Chandler hates his parents for what happened to him as a teen. He finally finds out why his mother seems to have such hate for him. He takes Anniston as revenge against the king but the king doesn't seem to care about her. Chandler and Anniston both have horrible childhoods in common. Anniston doesn't let Chandler get away with anything, she's the match to his fire. A dark and delicious read.
Actually there are so many things I want to say about this series but I won’t cause I don’t want to spoil anything.
But first this is an interconnected series so books definitely need to be read in order. Also please check your tw. Delaney used to put them in the beginning of the chapter but she has discontinued this.
So chandler is a tortured and dark soul who is out for revenge. Anniston our sheltered princess but don’t let that foul she is one strong and courageous girl.
Just like the previous books in the series, I devoured this read. We’ve had Caspian and Linc and now it's Chandler’s turn in this dark messed-up society.
Anniston is the Princess of Ayelswick and has been ‘kidnapped’ by Grey. We met Grey in the previous book and just like that book, I’m dying for more of him.
She’s given to Chandler, who is using her against her father to bring him down. Although he doesn’t want anything to do with her. Whenever he is in her presence he can’t stay away or keep his dirty thoughts out of his head when she’s around and soon he’s consumed by needing to be near her.
Chandler is a bad man, his past making him who he is today. He knows what he wants and with the help of his friends, is trying to bring the brotherhood down.
I loved Annistons character. She’s led a sheltered life, however, in the face of Chandler she stands up for herself, had an attitude to match and is in no way a weak heroine. I loved how she constantly challenged Chandler, eating away at his patience.
Chandler is just as dark as his brothers and I fell in love straight away. He’s ruthless in everything he does and I loved his friendship with Leo. Anniston in the first instance was part of his revenge plot, but quickly changed his opinion of her.
Delaney has created the dirtiest of leading men and Chandler is his own special brand. His dirty mouth is a chef’s kiss!
This author and the series have fast become one of my favourites. The story has so much originality, twists and turns and heroes I die over!
This book is part of an ongoing series and can be read as a standalone, however, stories do overlap and I would suggest reading them in order to get the full picture.
I’m in shock after the bonus epilogue and I can’t wait for Grey! I need his story!

Genre: Dark Romance Series Type: Character Series Book Length: Shorter Novel POV: Alternating Dual Setting: New York Male MC: Chandler Carmichael is the King of New York’s dark underworld. He is wealthy, powerful, and runs all the city’s illegal gambling and other nefarious crimes. Chandler is 26 and has dark hair and green eyes. Female MC: Anniston Radcliffe is the Princess of Ayelswick. She has lived her sheltered life in luxury and beauty. Anniston is 25 and has long dark hair and brown eyes. Endearment: Little Rebel and Baby Spice Level: Medium Frequency of Spice: Low Angst Level: Low Cliffhanger: No Epilogue: Yes My Review: This is the third book in the Obsidian Brotherhood series and I really enjoyed it. It had a grumpy/sunshine feel to it as Chandler is very distant and cold and Anniston is a sweet and charming princess. Chandler carries the weight of a traumatizing childhood and is working hard to build an empire that his family cannot destroy. Anniston is a little naïve, as she’s lived her whole life in a palace. Together they have wonderful chemistry and slow-burn tension, but I do wish there were more spicy scenes overall. What we get doesn’t feel enough in my opinion. I loved their story so much and I just wanted more. There was a nice progression to the series arc and each book reveals a little more about the brotherhood's secrets. I can't wait for Grey's story next, it should be amazing!
Wow,wow, wowser!! I did not want to get off this rollercoaster of a journey The Darkest Hour took me on. This series is INCREDIBLE.!! and I am loving every single minute I spent reading them. This is Chandlers book,a story were we learn what made him the Dark presence that he is today, and his connection to the takedown of the original Obsidian brothers.A group of men who do dispicable things to vunerable people. Chandler has the pleasure of overseeing the safety of the princess to the king of Ayelswick,to use as leverage against him.Princess Anniston is unaware she is being kidnapped and thinks she is going to Visit New York until she is taken to an apartment building and met with one of her captors. Chandler does not want this assignment baby sitting a princess is not on his agenda, but for some reason she brings out the darkness within him,and he wants to corrupt her....and deep down Anniston wants Chandler to dishonor her. There is so much back and forth between these two and Anniston is so confused about her feelings for Chandler and why she is so drawn to such a Villain. I could not put this book down.Even when I had to put it down it was with great reluctance because this story just grabbed my attention and never let go,even when I wasn't reading it I was thinking about it and when I could get back to flipping those pages. It was like Delaney Fosters words called to the deepest, darkest part of me. You know in the rational part of your mind that Chandler is messed up but you are just spellbound by him and I was riveted,As Chandler and Anniston took me on a trip to the darkside. Delaney Foster's writing is Superb as she tells the story of Chandler and his disorderly life and personality.I Love this chaotic world Delaney has created because within the frantic darkness of Chandler and the Obsidian world, there comes some romance, beauty and poetic heartfelt moments. Plus the chemistry between these two is off the scale. The Darkest Hour is breathtaking excellence,Chandler stole my heart and depraved my soul, and I could not recommend it highly enough. 5 Star Perfection. But if you are easily triggered please take the warnings seriously.
“From that moment on, my darkest hour only got darker.”
*Enemies to lovers *dark romance (check triggers) *steam 5/5 *can be read as a standalone but I recommend reading book 1 Mischief Nights and book 2 Hallowed Eve.
I said it in my review of Mischief Nights. This is one of the best Second Society/Brotherhood I’ve read recently.
This is the book I’ve been waiting for. Ever since I met Chandler Carmichael in Mischief Nights I have been desperate for his book. His attitude, the way he speaks the way he carries himself. God I just fell in love right away. I needed to know his story. It was as good as I hoped it would be.
It’s a dark read. His story and the story of everyone in this world is dark. Chandler has deep demons, he does not hide them.! They affect him in every aspect of his life. He run the New York underworld and along side that he Caspian and Lincoln are dismantling there fathers sick and twisted empire. (The Brotherhood) Lots of men are involved and one of the men is the King of Ayelswick. For Chandler to put an end to the kings twisted ways he gets a member of the new The Obsidian Brotherhood to bring the king’s daughter to him in New York where he keeps her lockup while thinking her father will do as he commands.
The storyline is gripping. The romance is smoking hot. The angst is there and it’s on another level. Chandler is very passionate with his words, he’s very full on and tbh so is the Princess Anniston. She is sweet, naïve. She’s never met a man like Chandler. At first I thought he opened up a different side to her but he didn’t, it was always been there. She just hadn’t had the opportunity to be this person and be so open. Not only is it a hot dark read. I also laughed. The side characters are hilarious. The guys banter is brilliant. I really recommend this series.
I now need GREY’s.!!! Liam and Leo books. The one I’m most desperate for is Grey’s. You meet him in book two, he plays a very big role. He is unlike any man I’ve read.
"I want to ruin you until your soul is as dark as mine. And then... I want to own you." - Chandler
Chandler Carmichael could take me to the darkness with him anytime. When it comes to troubled souls, his was one of the worst I'd read. From a childhood of not belonging- to his parents turning on him, Chandler accepted early on that
Coming from a direct line to the Obisidian Brotherhood inheritance- Chandler, like his friends, knew what the twisted world he grew up in entailed. He also knew that he wanted absolutely no part in it. He began growing his own name and business separate from his father in High School, leaving the house at 18 never to return. Now he runs the underworld. His soul is as black as his heart. He lets no one in besides his closest guys. Love is a fictional word that means nothing to him... until she comes along as a project.
Anniston is the Princess of Ayelswick. Perfect, sweet, sheltered and promised to another man. When she's whisked off to New York under false pretenses, and left with seemingly the Devil himself, Chandler Carmichael. Day by day she learns more of herself and of him. The magnetic pull that has been there since the day they first met eyes. But can they weather the secrets?
This series is so amazingly good. I can't say enough about it. Delaney was brand new to me, and now I can't devour her books fast enough. The Obsidian Brotherhood takes you to the edge of taboo but keeps you hanging until you fall madly in love with the characters.
I loved this dark secret society romance with Hades/Persephone undertones. Darkest Hour is the third book in the Obsidian Brotherhood Series. This series just continues to get better as more secrets are revealed and the next generation continues to take out the current corrupt leadership of the Brotherhood.
In Darkest Hour, we learn why Chandler is so cold and heartless. He is like Hades, but he rules over New York City. He’ll do anything to take down the Brotherhood, but he gets stuck babysitting Anniston, the kidnapped princess of Ayelswick. Anniston is an unknowing pawn in a game that her father and Chandler are playing.
Anniston and Chandler’s connection was instant and explosive. This book was so hot and spicy. I love how Anniston continued to surprise Chandler. Chandler is the epitome of BDE. He tries so hard not to fall for her, but he can’t help himself. He also gives off major “touch her and die” vibes. I’m also a total sucker for cute nicknames and alternating between Little Rebel and Princess really did it for me. I also loved learning more about the Brotherhood and reading about their twisted rituals.
While the books are interconnected standalones, it would make most sense to read Mischief Night and Hallowed Eve first. Also, they are awesome so you should just read them anyway. I seriously can’t wait for Grey’s book.
This series has been one of my favorites of the year. I highly recommend it!
