"That Buffy Show," a The Fresh Prince of Bel-Air meets Dawson's Creek style teen drama sitcom, is a perfect fit for the Buffster. It's all going well until the cast gets a taste of the supernatural when the audience totally vamps out!
The Scooby Gang is forced to learn actual slayage skills on live television from "TV" Buffy to save their lives, and more importantly... keep the show from being canceled! Tap into some geeky joy with this celebration of the 25th Anniversary of Buffy The Vampire Slayer by Say Anything frontman Max Bemis (Moon Knight) and Marianna Ignazzi (An Unkindness of Ravens), and you'll be five by five!
uhh...that synopsis is incorrect...anyway, 2.5 stars only because some of the writing is at least better than everything BOOM has put out in the Buffy revival comics (except the first few volumes so the drastic decline in quality was disappointing).
WTF was this even supposed to be? It was like Archie Comics meets Saved by the Bell. Also, this was definitely NOT the style of 1997, it was early nineties, very early.
I, at least, am unclear where this fits in with the the various continuities or how we got here. At $8, there was certainly enough space to establish…a premise?
This was like reading someone’s idea for a Buffy abridged series. There’s definitely some fun bits, but mostly it was either bland or had me rolling my eyes :/
