You know you really made someone raging mad—when they try to kill you with a nuke.
Michael and those who follow him had reached a temporary safe base, but now those in power know his identity.
His people are in a race against time, and it’s no longer a question of if they are going to be discovered—but when.
Opposing them are modern-day pirates, slavers, genocidal terrorists, drug cartels, and those who rule the Earth from the shadows. And every single one of them wants to see Michael dead.
When betrayal causes the death of someone close to him, he decides that diplomacy is far overrated. And sometimes crossing the line isn’t enough; sometimes you need to demolish it to do what is right. So, set the Geneva Conventions on fire and punish the guilty, because sometimes, mercy is a luxury you cannot afford.
If pain and death are the only things his enemies know, then he will speak their language fluently.
Can they finish and launch the spaceship into orbit before time runs out? And what did the ancient aliens hide underneath the Pacific Ocean?
Orbital Ascension By Igor Nikolic This continues the story from book one. It gets pretty intense and exciting. Governments want the spaceship and all the tech they have been making. I like a story where corrupt governments get a taste of justice.
I still enjoy the series. And really any other series of a similar genre. Even though the author seems to have Going down An anti establishment rabbit hole. The other is used the MC to alleviate some of the high and low points of the said establishment. Obviously this is a fantasy book in reality Reality is we don't have free energy and technology from aliens. Therefore everything in our world still cost. But that's what we love about a book like this it let's just walk to places that aren't real and make heroes out of those that fight against the big perceived bad guys. Government, Big pharma, deep state. All that said I wholeheartedly agree with morals of the main character. He stands his ground and tries to do the right thing with the hand that is been dealt. He looks after all people he can Look after and takes it on the nose when he cant. I certainly look forward to the next Part of this series to see where it goes obviously a lot of changes happened in this book And it looks like there's a bigger bogeyman than the ones we have on earth.
This is a wonderfully well written, rip roaring romp with aspects of Star Trek's optimism and Babylon 5's pragmatism. I'm loving the characters and the way they are dragging our species kicking and screaming into a better future. Should advanced technology ever be discovered, I hope the people who find it are half as benevolent as Michael and company. I can't wait to read the next installment!
The basic theme of the political problems of finding a space ship or advanced tech is a recurring one in science fiction. In the instant book the author’s handling of this theme is fairly action packed although similar to how it is handled by other authors. The author is fairly harsh in handling the terrorist part of the story which I would agree with. Overall it an entertaining read.
This was the 2nd book in the series and I think it was great . Lots of action and adventure along with some good planning. There is a lot that goes on in this book and I don't want to spoil it for any one but try the series and you might find yourself daydreaming of the same thing that happened to the star in this book . It would be a nice thing to find.
Great read , can't wait for the next. Be interesting to find out the bunch handles the rest of the space peoples, both the friendly and unfriendly, and the earth friends
This book was a great follow up for the 1st book. It took care of some of the villains and described humanity in a way that’s very realistic. It let really wanting to read the 3rd book. Happy
I enjoyed this 2 book as well as the first book it well worth it but it’s is a very bloody story so if you find that not to your taste its still worth the read.
I'm excited to see what and where this goes. The 1st book was a good start this was a good continuation. So far this series is getting better.. Keep writing Mr. Nikolic you have a talent for it.
The book is well crafted, well edited. It was a pleasure to read. I enjoyed it immensely. The plots are not new but there are only so many. Still try it, Mike said he liked it.
“Orbital Ascension” is the second book in The Space Legacy series by Igor Nikolic, a science fiction author who combines artificial intelligence, ancient aliens, and space exploration in his thrilling novels. The audiobook is narrated by James Patrick Cronin, a voice actor who has performed over 500 audiobooks in various genres and styles.
The story picks up where the first book, “The Spaceship In The Stone”, left off. Michael, a young hacker who discovered a hidden spaceship inside a stone monolith, is now leading a group of rebels who want to escape the oppressive Earth and explore the stars. However, their plans are constantly threatened by powerful enemies who want to stop them at any cost. Michael and his allies have to face modern-day pirates, slavers, genocidal terrorists, drug cartels, and shadowy conspirators who will stop at nothing to kill him and destroy his spaceship. Along the way, Michael also uncovers more secrets about the ancient aliens who left behind the spaceship and their mysterious agenda.
The audiobook is a fast-paced and action-packed adventure that will keep you on the edge of your seat. The author does a great job of creating a realistic and immersive world that blends science and fiction. The characters are well-developed and relatable, each with their own motivations and flaws. The narrator does an excellent job of bringing the story to life with his expressive and versatile voice. He captures the emotions and personalities of the characters, as well as the tone and atmosphere of the scenes. He also uses different accents and voices to distinguish between the characters, making it easy to follow the dialogue.
“Orbital Ascension” is a must-listen for fans of science fiction and space opera. It is a captivating and entertaining audiobook that will make you feel like you are part of the journey. It is also a thought-provoking and insightful book that will make you question the nature of humanity and its place in the universe. If you enjoyed the first book in the series, you will love this one even more. If you haven't read or listened to the first book yet, I highly recommend that you do so before listening to this one.
This book is the second book in this series. I liked the first book. It led me to read this book. I liked it enough that I will continue with the next book.
After reading books 1 and 2 of this series, one becomes quite familiar with the characters, both good guys and villains. The good guys invariably win but it is tense for awhile. With all the fancy new technology one often wonders how they will pull it off. That, along with the camaraderie of the main characters, makes the reading enjoyable ...fun.
I can say how much i have enjoyed this series! I wish I had discovered it in a year or so, so that I wouldn’t have to wait for the next one. This is an exciting series. I love the political intrigue! It’s just like modern times! Bring on more justice!
Just finished reading books 1 and 2 and could not put them down, cannot wait for further instalments , this is one authorial be following in the future.
The council prime leader tries to take out Michael with a missile and kills his father instead. The crew finally gets enough proof to remove Cain from power.
I sure appreciated what your characters said and did, Igor! Thanks for clarity and adventure and integrity demonstrated in those characters! I like the high ideals!
I have enjoyed these two books immensely. The characters are very believable and they grow on you. The actions give the human race hope that all people are not the enemy. Await the next in the series.
The book starts out fast paced with plenty of action. This book also teaches you a bit about history and subjects that some people might find uncomfortable, they are all true. So I felt I was getting a little bit of a history lesson as well as an enjoyable book. The only problem I have was Michaels to take more significant action against those who caused him and his closest ones harm. He can eliminate terrorists but not those who caused personal injury and death to his love ones, in my opinion a little bit inconsistent. I personally think that the punishment was a little bit too lenient. Maybe as the story progresses the author can flush out more of Michael’s personality to show why he thought the way he thought. The personalities are a little bit cookie cutter there doesn’t seem to be any internal monologue concerning why Michael does what he does. Also I like the pounds to metric conversion those of us in America should learn the metric conversion is much more accurate. Besides The issue I mentioned great book. Eagerly awaiting the next one don’t keep us hanging on too long.
