Loss is book two in the Forged In Stone Series and continues after the cliffhanger of Love, with Chris now living with his girlfriend Shell. Though he does love Shell, he knows that his heart still belongs to his wife Sarah. After coping with their tragedy and loss, the grief and pain has slowly eased enough to allow Chris & Sarah to heal themselves so that they are now able to talk more freely to each other with smiles and happy memories, rather than arguments. Just when you think things are working out for the best, Ryan pulls the rug clean out from under you, leaving you with THAT CLIFFHANGER!! This story is unique, and I am totally hooked with this series. I am so intrigued as to how this will all play out in the end. I can't wait to see what Ryan has for us in book three.
After Chris moves out of the home he had shared with Sarah and their young son Dakota, as he moves in with his girlfriend Shell, life begins to drastically change for him. He still has love for his ex and he's conflicted about that as well. Chris needs to navigate this situation carefully before it blows up in his face. His son is everything to him and not being with him day to day is tearing him up inside. But this is the path Chris has chosen, for now. Their future hasn't been revealed yet, literally. Hopefully book 3 will have all the answers. Even if you don't agree with the storyline or the subject matter, this story is compelling enough to keep you turning the pages. Ryan is true to the characters and their story of heartbreak and loss is riveting.
Ryan continues to hold me and his readers captive with the Forged in Stone series. The story continues with Chris trying to live two separate lives with two different women. The grief and pain is lessening that broke them and they begin to heal. Chris struggles with his torn heart between his wife and his girlfriend. As always, Ryan lulls you into thinking all is well when fate intervenes once again and gives Chris a surprise and a hellll of a cliffhanger that will leave you screaming noooooooooo! Outstanding way to close out Book 2! I’d say I hate you but I am so loving this trilogy too much to do so.
This is an in depth navigation of life, love, struggles and managing a way around the many obstacles thrown at Chris. He and Sarah struggle to overcome come a dark tragedy, while he finds balance in the most unconventional of ways. It leaves you falling in and needing more. Loss is not the beginning, nor the end, its a stepping stone you need to take. So good! Can't wait for Redemption!
