Wow! What a great end to an amazing series!! I've loved Kit and Sully right from the get-go and fell in love with them more and more with each book. Their love gives me all the feels, and they're both so freaking sexy. Tackle is everything! It's got action, danger, LOTS of steam, pet play, newly formed friendships, a freaking awesome HEA, and more! Plus, it ends with lots of opportunities for more stories for the amazing side characters I've grown to love so much... especially Talon and Javier and Liam and Tack. It's very bittersweet to finish this, but there couldn’t have been a more satisfying ending. Hope to see more of Kit and Sully in the future. Highly recommend this book/ series.
This third and last book of A Hitman’s Bait trilogy was another great story. I’m bad with continuing series, it took a lot of time to get into the storyline.
Sully and Kit gave Talon and Javier a place to stay. The banter between them is fun. Kit’s self-defense classes are helpful! And dang he needs it.
Sullen wants out of his job with Pinelli and tries to find a way to quit. Pinelli doesn’t want to let him go. Sullen is still a target and has to find out who gave the order. Enough stuff to build a story around. There are some surprising revealings. Sullen and Kit together are scorching. It was an entertaining read, with a good amount of action, sexiness, fun and serious matters. The end was satisfying.
I love this series 🥰 Kit & Sully will forever be one of my favorite couples and I'm sad for the series to be finished. Just like the other two books in the series this was has violence and some ugly topics (check TWs) but doesn't lack in the steam department. God Kit & Sully's chemistry is delicious and included quality time with Kit in his kitty head space . There's even a new play pal for Kit that I was so excited to see happen. All in all a satisfying conclusion to a fantastic series .
A nice wrap up ending to this series. Kit and Sully are still an amazing couple and had a very happy end of story. I liked Javier and Talon much more in this one. They provided needed support for Kit in a dramatic plot line and added to the lighthearted moments in other scenes. They are an excellent couple, too. I liked the occasional voyeur aspect between these two couples. It was hot. I couldn’t warm up to Tack as he played with Liam’s heart. Do not like that kind of dynamic. The second half of the book was chock full of action and many scenes of relationship dynamics. It felt kind of rushed, but was well written. This was a good series with two excellent MCs. Kittens rule.
A satisfying ending to the trilogy. In some ways it went places I hadn't anticipated, in others, I was totally spot-on with my guesses. I really enjoyed the friendship that grew with Javier and Talon. Was a little disappointed with Tack and Liam, though--very anti-climactic all around with them. Still, the story kept me turning pages and I'm very pleased with how it all worked out.
This wasn’t a terrible story but I am glad to be done with this series.
There were some editing issues across the 3 books but not too many to distract from the story.
I figured out who was after Sully pretty early on in book 2 so having the reveal dragged out to the 70 % mark of this book was frustrating/ underwhelming. Also, the big secret was also pretty obvious and didn’t pack much of a punch when it was revealed.
The one thing that truly annoyed me is that Sully all of a sudden spoke and understood Spanish while in Uruguay. This wouldn’t have been a problem if the author hadn’t mention MULTIPLE times that he didn’t understand what Talon and Javier were saying when they spoke it.
All in all this book was okay. The action didn’t happen till the 70% mark, something I am finding that Gianni does a lot. I prefer more action/plot woven into the story rather than the race toward the end to ramp up the action.
A solid four star until the second 50%, where it felt like it had been written in a rush: poorly edited, repetitive, and disappointing.
I love Javier and Talon probably more than Kit and Sully, and while the relationships carry the series more than the action ever did, I found myself skimming this final instalment.
I really enjoyed book 1 and liked book 2, but I'm afraid this third book just didn't live up to expectations.
Sully hoped that the truce with the Grimaldo's would mean some peace for them all especially as he has ended his contract as a mafia hitman but he finds himself involved in the mafia much more. His life appears to be spiralling out of control with nothing making sense but throughout everything, his need to protect his kitten remains something to be done at any cost. Kit knows from his own near-death experiences that he was born to survive and to love a hitman called Sullivan Matthews. He is determined to not be anyone's victim ever again but people think his heart is too soft, but he will do anything to protect the man he loves.
I loved this book which was the last one in the series and it didn't disappoint. There was danger, drama, revelations, betrayal, love and lots of steam all women into a story that will keep your attention throughout. Kit was as adorable as ever and Sully was definitely becoming more relaxed which was well deserved. I loved that SUlly supported the growth and development that Kit went through in this book which was important to their joint future. Their found family were wonderful and I hope they spawn their own series. Easy to read, feel and understand. This was an MM story with mature content There is violence in this story.
Tackle is the third book in A Hitman’s Bait series. This series must be read in order. Please read the content warnings in the author's note.
This third book starts out with Sully showing Kit some safety measures and proving once again how sexy he finds Kit. They could peel the paint from your walls with their steaminess. Once again along with Liam , the boys do their thing, being assassins and entrapping bad guys while someone is trying to kill Sully. After being saved so many times, this time Kit comes to the rescue. These two are my all time favorite couple that brought me to Gianni's writing and made me a solid fan for life. They have a deeply possessive love and a fully charged sex life to go with it. There are some surprises and twists you don't see coming but this series ended with a bang. Hopefully there will be more with Liam and Tack, Song and Geoff, and Javier and Talon. I loved this series from the get go and it has only gotten better, sexier and hotter for this Hitman and his Kit Kat. I received a copy of this book and this is my honest opinion.
Third (finale) in series (The Hitman’s Bait), must be read in order. Established couple. Age gap. Found family. Dual POV. There is nothing that will come between a committed, smitten hitman and the beautiful and seductive man he loves. Sully and Kit are solidifying their relationship with plenty of steam, professions of love, and vowing to stay together while working and playing. Kit comes into his own in this story, and while Sully supports him, Kit grows in his personal confidence beyond just his sex appeal. There is some action as Sully continues to work towards retiring while juggling his new alliance with good friends from a rival family that puts him at odds with his current boss. I really appreciated that Kit and Sully’s relationship is solid throughout this book and unshakeable even in the face of jealousy and self-doubt. This finale was both sweet and sexy, a nice way to finish Kit and Sully’s story with found family and plenty of spice. 4.5 rounded up
I have been waiting for the conclusion to Kit and Sully’s story. It was worth the wait. I could not put this down as I watched these two figure out what worked best for them. I was slightly surprised by the end and what Sully’s role would be. I don’t know if I would have picked up on that in the first two books. However, it seemed to fit. I loved seeing Kit grow into a confident man who knew his worth. He was pretty special and Sully made sure to let him know how much he truly appreciated his other half. I am very intrigued by the other couples in this book: Talon and Javier, Liam and Tack, and Geoff and Song. I hope that we will get to see their stories as well. Especially Liam and Tack. I was so sad for Liam at the end of the story. This was a winner for me. I love how Gianni’s stories always suck me in and keep me on the edge of my seat.
This book rocks! Kit and Sully are at it again but this time, the stakes are a bit higher. Sully is determined to walk away from Luigi Pinelli and have a life with Kit. He agrees to help take down a philanthropist who is hiding a dark secret. There will be danger involved multiple times and the last time will push them both to their limits. Secrets are revealed and truths learned when Sully is in the most danger. With the friends they’ve made, they manage to rescue Sully and bring him home where he and Kit can begin their new life together.
I read an ARC copy of this book and am volunteering my honest review.
Brilliant addition to the series. I’m sure the author said this was the final book, and it totally has a HEA, but it could definitely have more books added to it which I’m sure everyone would read because they’ve been amazing. I’m not usually one for reading a series with one couple but this has me gripped from the start and each book has twists and turns I didn’t see coming. Id love to see the stories of the main side characters which hopefully the author could do in future if she has the time and would be something her readers were interested in over her other projects. Don’t forget it’s not a standalone but I really do recommend you read this series
This whole series has been 5 full stars for me. I loved the story, the characters, and definitely the heat.
I love that the stories are intense and fast moving for the most part but also leave room for us to get to know the MCs and the side characters better. I was so happy with how the relationship with Javier and Talon worked out. And I’m happy to see a few leads for another couple of books in this world with Song and Geoff and especially Liam and Tack.
And as always the writing is excellent- pulling you in to the story and characters lives.
Picking up from where book two ended, Sully and Kit have house guests who they grow close to as Sully try’s to solve who tried kill him whilst still taking on cases and working towards his retirement as well.
A riveting finale in this trilogy that has elements of danger, kitten play, found family, fantastic supporting characters and a HEA that suits these characters perfectly. An absolute must read for sure.
Tackle is one of the best mob stories I’ve ever read if not the best. Gianni Holmes has done an amazing job. Well written and Kit and Sully have finally come to their last adventures together. Well that we know of anyway. Lol! This book is wonderful and worth reading. Expect the unexpected! ❤️
What a great end to this series.I have loved each of these books and enjoyed Kit and Sully’s relationship development. But of course, I can’t overlook the other men and their partners as well! Highly recommend this book, but you need to read the first two books prior. Maybe we’ll see Tack and Liam again?..
The third and final book draws everything together and a lot of answers are at last revealed to provide a fitting end to this series. On the downside, there was a lot to resolve and fitting it all in perhaps meant not everything got the page time it deserved. I hope there will be spin-offs because I think Liam and Tack, and Geoff and Song need their stories expanded on.
I have read many of Gianni’s books but I have to say that A Hitman’s Bait has become one of my favorite series of hers. I just love Sully and Kit. ❤️ I also adore all of the side characters and really hope to see books with them. KitKat is my favorite character! 🐈 ❤️
What a perfect end to this story! Gianni shocked me good though! This is a steamy romance with PLOT. We saw love grow and our characters grow. Please, please, tell me we get another book with secondary characters from this story!!!!! Like at least 2 series please?? Lol. Loved the whole series, and reread from the beginning. So good!!!!
Even though I’m not really into pet-play (one of the reasons why I've been putting this trilogy off), I still had a great time reading it. Both the story and the characters have been well developed. I had a whole lot of fun. Definitely worth reading!
I hope the secondary characters get their own stories!
MM, Age Gap, Pet Play, Mafia, Romance. The third book in the series and due to the plot continuing throughout the series this book is not a stand-alone. A page-turner with a fast paced plot full of twists and turns, steam, drama, murder and unexpected friendships. A great read with a HEA.
I absolutely loved this story. This is the third book in this series and must be read in order. This continues the story of Kit and Sully and man is it a wild ride. This was so good and the characters are absolutely fantastic.
Great end to the series. Must be read in order and now you can binge all the books and not forget everything that happened like I did. I think a complete re-read is in order.
Highly recommend.
I received a free copy of this book from the author and am voluntarily leaving a review.
Gianni Holmes has this innate talent for writing stories that ride the edge of sweet, gritty and dark. I was so excited to read Kit and Sully’s conclusion and was definitely not disappointed. Sexy, caring and a really great read!
I’m so sad. This is the last book. Kent is my favorite character. He is so sweet and everything I want in a main character. I know the straight gay trope is overused, but it really works in this book.
Tackle is the third book in A Hitman's Bait series by Gianni Holmes. This series is the story of Sully and Kit. This book is the last part to their story. This series must be read in order.
I loved their story. It was sweet, sexy, full of feels, exciting, thrilling and very well written.
