College life, fresh faces, new friends, an opportunity to make new memories, young Aratrika thought the same. Aratrika Roy who joins the residential hostel along with some other students of Panagarh Institute of Engineering & Management. Life was all well until a fellow student goes missing followed by death of their beloved professor Anantal Som and Aratrika witnesses something she shouldn't have. Baffled by the circumstances and equally intrigued as her, Joy, another student joins her in the quest of solving the mystery. Can Aratrika trust Joy, what if things are not what it actually seems?

The First Year Fiasco is a fast paced mystery thriller set up and developed around college life and hostel life environment. The book is quick to pick up the story, the mystery began right at the start slowly progressing with controlled trepidation. It's a very short and simple story but crafted very delicately, at some places it tries to deceive the reader with their own conclusions. It was a very quick read for me, not to mention the story was pretty obvious to me. The character sketches are good, especially the character of Joy. Writing style is good. Expected it to be more gripping, one area where it fell short. Recommended to beginners.

This book is a perfect blend of mystery, crime, and thrills. This was a story full of intrigue and deception.

This is a fast-paced thriller. Aratrika Roy, a fresh-faced and energetic engineering student, has joined the residence hall with others. Right up until a student goes missing from school and a professor passes away, she is content with her newfound independence. When she sees a suspicious figure enter the girls' hostel late at night and notices that same person being followed by a suspicious shadow, things swiftly become shady.

The plot is simple and straightforward, and I loved how the story came to a close. The setting automatically adds to the thrill. Most significantly, the writer's style of writing and the manner in which suspense is produced and sustained are admired. The story's many twists and turns provide enough hay for the reader and keep them hooked until the end. The novel is intriguing and holds your interest until the very end. I am amazed at how precise and yet impactful the story is. The suspense element was built right from the start till the end, making the story quite intriguing. There was scope for more character development, but then that was not needed since the story itself had its turns and twists. If you are into crime-solving, mysteries, thrillers, etc., you can definitely go for it.

You might like to wander through a few artistic journals — they’re full of sparks and surprises.

Ofc, we first have to talk about the cover. It's just so attractive and intruging. 🥵
I don't think anyone can resist reading the book by seeing this cover. 🔥

It SCREAMS out suspence, atleast to me.

The story is about a girl named Aratrika Roy who has joined the Panagarh Institute of Engineering & Management and lives in hostel with others. ✨

She is ready to enjoy her new independent life, untill a student goes missing and her professor dies. 😶

She's to be found a great and important evidence to this.
How is she involved in it?
Read the book to find out✨

OMG, THIS WAS SUCH A GREAT AND A QUICK READ.✨
I once picked it and couldn't put it down.
It's beginner friendly and it's pace is good which makes it easier to understand as well✨
At some points I felt a little too unnecessary info is given away and some points are very exaggerated a little but still that wasn't a trying off point.✨

Def recommend and it's good for beginners as well!!

The First Year Fiasco written by Angandeep Kr. Chatterjee. A start of a new detective series? Oh man, never in my dream I think a story starting from a college would lead me here! A story of a girl, Aratrika, entering to a hostel life in need to lead an Independent life, who thought would turn out to be the weirdest, dramatic, horror & learning days!

At Panagarh Institute, Aratrika meets Jayashish Dey, a smart, tall, sharp guy with great observation skills that may put you thinking.

‘That is extraordinary, dude. You should try for a career as a detective.’ says Atratika to Jayashish as throughout the book, he shines through his extra sharp intellectual & observation skills.

As a reader, I did not really expect some horrible stuff going on in a college that looks so nostalgic from the outside. No spoiler, trying my best.

A girl missing from the college hostel overnight, a sudden death of a professor, and much more! What's happening? Who are the culprits? Is this college cursed or the real mystery lies somewhere else only?

I could just say that the author fooled me! I was thinking of this x character of being a culprit but he was actually the one who was not at all a culprit, but rather a hero. I never thought these would ever be the culprits. I think that's how detective stories are written to shock the audience.

What makes this book different?

To be frank, you’re never left out throughout the read. Some books are so complex that you easily leave a few things behind due to heavy storytelling. Thankfully, this is not the case with this book.

Aru, the main character & from her POV, I just feel myself travelling here & there, experiencing traumas with raw emotions. This makes the character realistic and does justice to the story.

The author writes, “Friendship or companionship is similar to diffraction of light. If the bond is strong, then the amount of bending is almost negligible.”

A girl, trapped in an endless obstacle on one side, has no option but to trust his best friend, who might be her biggest enemy. She, being fond of detective stories, would have never thought she would be going into something similar.

The tension of a mother (of Aru) feels real, as she would never want her daughter to feel the pain even of an ant, forget about witnessing a crime or murder.

The book is not at all a detective story, it has just a few layers of it. A story set in a college with some realistic characters & plot - not at all a STUDENT OF THE YEAR Type.

Author- Angandeep Kr Chatterjee
Genre- “ Crime Thriller”

Congratulations to the author for writing a ablaze Suspence thriller that stuck me from the first page to the last page. This book is a perfect blend of mystery, crime, and thrills. This was a story full of intrigue and deception......

Aratrika Roy joined the Panagarh Institute of Engineering and Management with dreamy eyes like other freshers. There, he met Juasis Dey on the first day and a strong bond was formed between them. the credit goes to his stories and narrations.

The theme is simple and straightforward, and I loved how the story came to a close in suspensely. The setting automatically adds to the thrill. Most significantly, the writer's style of writing and the manner in which suspense is produced and sustained are admired. The story's many twists and turns provide enough hay for the reader and keep them hooked until the end. The novel is intriguing and holds your interest until the very end. What happens when a girl awaits to join college but ends up being a part of a thriller story? The book: "The First Year Fiasco" is a thriller starting from the from the first line till the end. The 255 pages book makes us so engaged that we would not stop reading until we come to the end.
The story basically revolves around Aratrika Roy who is very excited to join The Panagarh Institute of Engineering & Management. She is joyous and full of energy as she enrolls herself, little did she know she is in for something big. There, she meets Jayashis Dey on the first day and a strong bond forms between them. But she finds something off put and weird about Jay. Like every first year student ,she enjoys her independence to the fullest when a professor is killed and a student goes missing. She notices Jay's behaviour being weirder than usual and she starts suspecting him in all these unusual activities.
Things take a quick turn when she sees a person entering the girl's hostel late night and also notices the same person being followed by a suspicious shadow. After midnight the same shadow is seen again inside the girl's hostel trying to steal something. Aratrika tries to solve the mysteries since she is a fan of crime stories.
Will she find out the dark history and solve the mystery?

Students usually join hostel expecting a sovereign kind of life where they can learn a lot with their peers . But not everytime you get what you think . At any point life can take a vicious turn leaving nothing behind.

Aratrika just like any other student of her age is very excited to start her new life as it is the first time she is staying in a residential hostel . She is very fond of reading detective novels . Everything was going fine until one day a student goes missing from the campus and a professor succumbed to death . All hell suddenly break lose. Using her mysterious instincts that she gets from being a voracious reader of thrillers she decides to solve the case all by herself. Will she be successful?
Grab the book to find out.

The story from its premise certainly looks very engaging. The plot is nice and the flow of the contents is also good enough. Though the thrill element is less and after a point tale takes a bit of predictable route for those who are exposed to this genre on a consistent basis. The character sketch and other aesthetics of the book are treated with due care.

Overall a decent read which will specifically appeal to those readers who dont come across thrillers very often.

The cover of the book is apt to the story and the title fits the story perfectly. The language of the book is simple and easy to read. This tale had quite a few twists, back and forth no less. It was all revealed in a logical manner so that it was understandable. But I wouldn't try to summarize this plot to someone else; it had too many elements to explain. And the book uses a couple flashbacks to reveal important plot points. It all works perfectly when you read it though.

The characters come alive in the author's writing. You care about them. Even the victims are usually much more fully developed and described than with most authors. And he provides all of this detail in a way that makes you want to know more. I have read authors that provide as much detail, but it often gets in the way of the story. He writes characters that you care about because of what you know about them and how he presents that information to you. There are many twists and turns that kept me going from one suspect to the next, and that ending is fantastic!

The overall quality of the writing, it helped in making it interesting and fluent. I'd be looking forward to read more from the author in future.

This book is a nail -biting thriller . Throught the book you will be on the edge of your seats to know what will happen next.

Storyline will take you into the mysterious world . All those events surrounding the life of aratika roy are well written and executed by the author . From simple life of aratrika roy to turning into disturbing one due to getting trapped in a vicious trap in college. I like the bond between jay and aratrika roy although later on aratrika suspects jay being involved in all these which upsets her . But actually no one knows who is behind all the stormy occurences.

Overall i really enjoyed reading this nail biting tgriller . And i like the fact that author doesnt ununecessarily stretched the storyline and stick to core concept and theme . The language of the book is simple and easy to understand along with incredible usage of vocabulary .

"The First Year Fiasco" is a thrilling story. The unexpected twists and turns made the book mysterious. Professor Anantalal Som had some secret to tell everyone but before it reveals, he was dead. Aratrika Roy, the female protagonist is a young girl. She was admitted to Panagarh college for spending quality time with herself independently in the hostel.Devastated by her parents taunts and restrictions, she felt freedom in the hostel until one day she sees a suspicious figure entering hostel late night and notices the same person being followed by a suspicious shadow.
Aratrika makes an effort to solve the strange incidents happening in the college. One thing which kept the suspense intact is the author's brilliance of not revealing a few names which made it difficult for us to guess the possibilities.

Overall the book and the plot are worth the time. Author has done a good job in writing this book. Language is easy and thus keeps the reader with it till the end. I recommend this book to everyone who loves thrillers.

The book: "The First Year Fiasco" is a nail-biting thriller from the opening line till the author puts his pen down. The book cover portrays a mysterious aura. A little caution before the readers delve into the book, read it in one go without distractions.

Aratrika Roy joins the Panagarh Institute Of Engineering and Management with dreamy eyes like other freshers. There, she meets Jayashis Dey on the first day and a strong bond forms between them. But, Jay's nature seems to be different from the beginning.

Aru's simple life gets disturbed when she unknowingly gets trapped in a vicious trap in college. Jay remains untraceable for days after the unsettling events. Aru suspects Jay's involvement in them which upsets her. But, who is behind all the stormy occurrences?

Get yourself absorbed in the mysterious world created by Angandeep Kr Chatterjee without delay to get your answers. You will not be disappointed with the outcome, guys.

The book The First Year Fiasco by Angandeep Kr. Chatterjee.

Storyline will take you into the mysterious international . All those events surrounding the lifestyles of aratika roy are nicely written and accomplished by the writer .Aratrika Roy joins the Panagarh Institute Of Engineering and Management with dreamy eyes like other freshers. There, she meets Jayashis Dey on the first day and a sturdy bond forms

Things turn darkish when she witnesses a individual getting into the hostel late at night time and seeing the same character being accompanied by means of a suspicious shadow. After midnight the identical shadow is seen once more in the girl's hostel seeking to scouse borrow some thing, prompting the police to analyze.

The truth that writer doesnt ununecessarily stretched the storyline and stick with middle idea and subject . The language of the e book is simple and easy to apprehend in conjunction with exceptional usage of vocabulary .

Amazing novel...

This novel is a brilliant work of mysterious tales that i came across in recent times. A novel that tells the story of few characters over and over again in pitch perfect iterations that reveals volumes about, friendship, sparkling college and hostel life, and strange things that the lead comes across accidentally. So moving to the plotline now, that is strong and powerful, we have two main leads Anu and Joy. Both the characters were impressive. Aratrika Roy who comes done to Panagarh Institute of Engineering and
Management for studies. There she meets Joy. Here again I found his character very fascinating. His keen observation and calculative mind and a detective instincts made the tale engrossing. After Priyadarshi death the track picks up more speed with investigation, the ask touch, drugs and Anu's self study of the entire scenario.. This book is both for those who enjoy unraveling how fiction works and those who just seek pure enjoyment.

We all know that feeling of going to the college for first time, making new friends, getting a new perspective towards life. Here also our protagonist Aru is excited about her first year in Panagarh Institute of Engineering.

Sudden killings in the campus scares most of the students but Aru being a fan of detective stories tries to figure this out. But will she figure out the real killer or will she become the victim herself. Read this amazing nail biting story to find out.

The story was fast paced and lucid. From the very beginning you'll get hooked to the story and wouldn't want to let go. The mystery, thrill, friendship, twists and turns makes it unputdownable. The major twists amazed me and I was eager to find more.
Hats off to the author for penning down such a catchy plot.

The language is beginner friendly and the writing is juicy. The story is sure to make you feel as if you are in it.

Highly recommended!!

The first year fiasco is a straightforward suspense thriller.

Aratrika Roy was admitted to an engineering college and met Jayashis she got inspired by his observation skills and gradually become close friends.
One day suddenly their batchmate Priyadarshini disappears from the College. At the same time, one of their professors died due to a heart attack. All the students are scared and panicked.
One day when Aratrika followed two students who were moving out of the college campus towards the graveyard. Plenty of secrets were revealed. She shares all the information with Jay. Meanwhile, Jay finds out about the professor’s diary and he gets some coded texts.
What happened to Priyadarshini? The professor's death is natural or murdered?
Why were the two boys moving towards the graveyard?
It’s a fast-paced gripping story. The author handled their mother’s emotions well.
The dialogues could have been more powerful.

Angandeep Kr Chatterjee's work, "The First Year Fiasco," is a page-turning thriller with full of mystery. The author's choice of plot is astounding.

The focus of the narrative is Ankita. Aratrika Roy, like the other freshmen, attends the Panagarh Institute Of Engineering and Management with dreamy eyes. On her first day there, she encounters Jayashis Dey, with whom she quickly develops a close relationship. However, Jay's personality seems to have changed with time. In her quest to unravel the secrets engulfing her college, Aratrika learns something she never ought to have known.

I enjoy how the narrative ends. The book is made more intriguing by the series of twists. The author uses straightforward yet attractive language. The way he describe each character is beautiful. One can say it's a complete pack of adventure.

The happenings that occurred in Panagarah's engineering college are the subject of this tale about college life  and hostel  life. This narrative includes elements of bewilderment, terror, suspense, and college-related fun. The protagonist of this tale is Aru (Aratrika), together with Joy (Jayashis) and other characters.
Aratrika Roy arrived at Panagarh Engineering College with her parents to enroll, and this is where the narrative begins.  Aratrika is  excited for  college life. She is looking forward to starting a new life in college, where she will reside in a hostel because it is far from her family. She has nice friends and excellent lecturers. Joy is her first college friend. Everything was going smoothly at the college until Aru (Aratrika) saw that a stranger had entered the girls' hostel, and then she discovered her professor Som's suspecious death. which shocked the entire college, and two more students left shortly after. Aru devours detective fiction. She makes an effort to solve these incidents. Reading his writing will bring back memories of your time in college. The best part of our lives is college, and the author did a great job of explaining it.

The author has worked very well on suspenseful plot-driven stories. The book is fast-paced but will keep you engaged. The language and writing style is very subtle, which does complete justice to this Crime Thriller.
