I finished this minutes ago and I'm still shaken. I have read Bre Rose's duology so I knew the gist of Mary and Earl's story. Reading it all play out tho in Earl's Novella took me places that I didn't know I was going to go. I laughed, I cried (too much), and at the end, I smiled and cried happy tears.

Read how Earl and Mary met, how their relationship developed and what led to the later events. As a side note, I recommend you read the Finding/Saving Memphis first.

Memphis Beginnings was so good!

Memphis Beginnings: Earl’s Novella, book 1.5 of the Memphis Hellions by Bre Rose @breroseauthor. I am a huge fan of Bre’s & this was no different!

This was a great novella about Earl & Mary, with background information about Melissa. Tropes: MF, MC, love at first sight, & no HEA. 😱😭

Well this was a delight! Also a surprise, I wasn't expecting to read a book about Earl. It was such a compelling read, we get to read from Earl's and Mary's POV, and his reminiscing on his past. I adore how proud he is when he finds out he's going to be a granddad, hey, he only recently discovered he was a dad! And a dad to our much loved Ash, who was the MC in the Memphis Duet series. Anyhow....this novella focuses on how Earl met Mary, how he was immediately taken by her and how he was devastated when she just vanished. His regrets, his musings, are all described so beautifully. As is his need to clean up the Club when he becomes president. Mary is crazy about Earl, love her POV, her love, her fears and the threats that she feels she has no option but to disappear. I did feel extremely sorry for Melissa, she was delegated to be back burner for 21 years and the rekindling of their romance is just too gorgeous! And she's SO nice! She befriends Mary even though Mary has captured Earl's heart and not hers. As always, Bre manages to get all my emotions wrapped up in knots with the tension and brilliance of her penmanship. Absolutely recommend ALL Bre Rose's books

I love the Memphis Hellions series and this novella helps us to realise exactly what happened to Earl and Mary (Ashlynn's Mum).

We start where Saving Memphis ended, at Earl's birthday party. When he starts to reminisce about the past and what brought him to this moment. As usual life isn't smooth for any of the Hellions and Earl is no different. He immediately falls in love with Mary at first sight and they have a whirlwind romance, but events change the course of his life taking away Mary and his unborn child away from him forever. Back to the present and Earl Realises exactly what he has to do, but I will leave that for you to read the book and find out exactly what it is. Safe to say another Hellions book is on it's way.

Bre as always will have you on the edge of your seat reading her books. I love all of the Hellions characters and can't wait to see what happens to them all in the future.

The Start of Love

I loved this book and the back story of not only Earl but of is 2 greatest loves Mary and Melissa. It tells the story of how he met Mary and what exactly happened with her and why she ran and left to be the start of Finding Memphis. It also gives us the insight of Earls other love the other person to have held his heart and who is currently holding his heart and it leads it up to current times where Saving Memphis ends and he is on a mission to win is love back. This was such a epic tale with so much backstory and facts that it doesnt leave anything out and you get everything. Bre Rose did an amazing job telling this one and bringing everything together.

An action packed tragedy in a quick read that brings us the love story that created our beloved Ash! I devoured this story and fell in love with Mary and Earl knowing their tragic ending was still going to come no matter how hard I was hoping my wishful thinking could magically alter it. This definitely sets the stage to lead into Earl and Melissa’s story and I’m curious if I can move past my love of Mary and Earl and the tragedy of their relationship. For such a quick read, I felt the emotions so profoundly and was heartbroken by the end. Hopefully all will be healed in Earl’s next book.

Loved finally hearing

Mary and Earls story. It was sad that they didn't get their happy ending. But I hope he finally gets his happily ever after with his other soulmate. Especially since he has finally realized the error or errors of his ways. I absolutely loved getting to know Earl and Mary in their younger years. To bad the psycho couldn't have been eliminated all those years ago. I absolutely recommend reading this after the duet books, it just fits in why it all went down how it DoD and answers so many questions. The biggest one why Mary left.

I am loving the Memphis Hellions series! This book focuses on Earl and Mary’s whirlwind romance. It’s short, sweet, a little steamy, and a little tragic. After reading Ash’s story, it was great to get this backstory of how her parents met and what really happened between them.

I was not expecting to like Mary as much as I did because I really like Melissa for Earl but this novella made me love both women. I can’t wait for more Earl and to see what happens with Melissa!

This is a short little novella that gives us the story we all wanted to hear. The story of Earl and Mary. How they met, their quick road into a relationship. And it made me fall in love with Mary. Remember, all we heard was Ash’s take on her mother and Ash’s path to Memphis where she now resides. So it was nice to get a fresh take on the path that led Mary to leave Memphis and Earl. Now, to see how the relationship between Earl and Melissa progresses. Because Earl claims she’s his endgame.

Wow, this novella blew me away and I could not put it down. It moves along at a pace which is perfect for this story. The characters are so real that you feel as though you know them and no matter what happens you cant help but love them. You will discover that once you start reading you want to know more about the characters and their friends. This book is a must read, there is no doubt about it. It needs to be on your TBR list.

I would like to say that it was an epic idea to make a story about Earl.

That said, it was such an amazing story, seeing how he met Mary.

The tension between Earl and Melissa.

This story had spice, action, betrayal.

I loved that we saw Ash again, and her guys.

The story picks up where Saving Memphis ended. With Earl's birthday part.

We get a bittersweet gift.

I love how it was love at first sight.

I cannot wait to see his book cause this novella kept me on the edge of my seat.

Love At First Sight

Bre Rose’s most recent novella shows how her ‘Memphis Hellions’ series began. This story tells how the current Prez fell in love with his daughter’s mother, Mary. This may be a short story but it gives you all the emotions and adventures of a full length novel. I loved this book and the series. I can’t wait to see what else the author has in store for these Hellions. Highly recommended and definitely a MUST read!

After reading Memphis Beginning and reading Earl's and Mary's story, it shows me how much I just love this series. I love the Memphis Hellions series, I love the characters and their stories. Its great to see how they got to where they are and finding out new information as well. This is another fantastic read by Bre Rose. I can't wait till the next book is released because Bre's books are always amazing.

I'm quickly becoming a fan of Bre Rose and the Memphis Hellions. In the grand scheme of things, this book is the missing puzzle piece that brings the series together. It's a wild ride full of twists and turns that will keep you on the edge of your seat. I'm excited to see what's in store for Earl and Melissa next, and to meet the newest addition to the crew - the cook!

If you’ve read Ash’s duet, you know that Earl had a complicated past. I love that this novella highlights what really happened, and the terror that Mary went through that Earl never knew about.

So much wasted time, this is the story about a man with past regrets in his life. I loved this spotlight into the past.

So this book follows the aftermath of Memphis Duet. Now I still have not read its on my list but your girl here does not mind the spoilers. So be warned if you hate spoilers read Memphis Duet first. This Novella is Earls story. This is about the Summer of 2001 and Earl's relationships. This book was a good read and I can't wait for the full story.

This book is part of the Memphis series by Bre Rose. This story focuses on Earl and Mary, Ashlynn’s mother. Bre does a wonderful job of creating these characters, flaws and all. Mary does what she thinks is best with what information she had at the time.
I have loved Bre’s other books and this one was incredible!

Such a great quick read and to get Mary’s point of view and a bit of Earls In what happened between them…. All the what ifs… but to be honest I couldn’t see this happening any other way especially how the characters are : Mary , Melissa. Great little read and can’t wait for Earls and Melissa’s story !

I met Earl in the Memphis duet and my heart instantly went out to him, so I was super excited to get his back story. This book sucks you in and really makes you feel like you know the characters and you're right there experiencing everything with them! It's a sad story but a necessary one to truly understand Earl and his past. I highly recommend this book but also it's companion novels!

Memphis Beginnings is a short background story about Earl's life when he met Ashlynn's Mom and how things turned out the way they did for Ashlynn from the Memphis Duets. Very well written and edited. Great characters. There is no happy ending, but I believe it lays the groundwork for Earl's Novel. Looking forward to the next one!

Amazing story! Loved going Back in Time

Even though it said in the beginning that this doesn't have an HEA. This was still an amazing book. I wanted more. I wanted more time with them together. We got just a sliver of what little time they already had. I want more. No I NEED more. Bre always does an amazing job st leaving you wanting more.

I loved this story. It is a quick read about Earl and Melissa's story of how things came to be leading up to the 1st book of Memphis Hellions Duet and if you read the Memphis Duet you know it left you wanting to know more about these Hellions and what happened, and if you didn't...well, you definitely need to. Prequel for Earl

Oh this is the back story for Earl, Melissa and Mary and how they ended up where they are for the next book can't wait to see after he how he corrects his situation with Melissa after all the years and then found out that he had a daughter with Mary and showed up where he found out in book one Finding Memphis that her mother Mary had pasted

This gave me so much insight on how they met and had this amazing whirlwind love. I also know that Earl and Melissa are endgame so with the ending to this I can’t wait to see that happen.

A short and sweet story until it's not... sweet that is. A deeper dive into Earl and Mary's history which you learn a bit about in Finding Memphis duet. More like a prequel but I'd still recommend reading it after Finding Memphis. It will make more sense. Makes my heart hurt but it had to be this way.

So happy Earl got a story before the events of Finding Memphis, but absolutes gutted it isn’t a HEA!
Learning about Earl and how he came to be president, His whirlwind romance with Mary and haw Ashe, their daughter, came to be! Such an amazing story!
