Though this book was produced in conjunction with an exhbition of Fijian art, this is far more than an art book. In addition to an outstanding catalog of the works from the exhibition, Hooper presents a wonderful overview of the history and culture(s) of Fiji. As well as being a top notch scholar, Hooper is an excellent, engaging writer.
