Welcome back to the JTT! This book starts off action packed and with a hint of emotional whiplash. Jamie watched his pregnant ex-wife die during an act of violence. Set on revenge he tries abandoning his team, when they find him and bring him home. Summer was brought in by the JTT because they needed a nanny for the newest addition of the team. Things start heating up when Summer and Jamie meet. She is fiercely protective of the little girl under her care. The team is a family, and now Summer and the baby are theirs now too. Jamie had a lot of guilt to process through, and Summer was the balm to his healing soul.

A hard one to rate, honestly. The first two books were 5 glowing stars for me, bumping this author up to the top of my "drop everything else" list. When the ARC for Jamie's story popped up, I could barely contain a squee. However, I was pretty disappointed this time. It gets a very borderline three stars (more of a 2.5), saved from lower because I like the series overall and this novel is a part of it. Although each novel can sort of stand alone, the overarching storyline really needs the books read sequentially. As it was, I'd forgotten a lot from the previous two books.

But where did this one fall short? I feel like we don't get enough of Jamie's and Summer's individual stories, and they don't get don't enough of each other's either. Summer grew up in a cult and ran away on the eve of her sixteenth birthday to avoid becoming a child bride, but it's sort of treated like a bad break rather than for what most of us would consider a "say what, now?" We know she was frequently homeless and dirt poor, but how on earth did she not only get hired by a professional nanny org (paperwork, background check, high school diploma/GED?) but also get the job with the governor? And she's also a gifted songwriter. And has synesthesia. And hypoglycemia. All fascinating traits, but one or two would have been enough. I would've cut out the songwriting stuff as it never gains much traction except as reason for her to leave the compound.

Speaking of the compound, for all that it's imperative JTT stays off the radar, they spend a lot of time in the nearest small town. Plus deliveries (SUVs, baby supplies, shipping containers? kinda hard to keep on the downlow).

Jamie has a lot going on as well. Estranged wife. Er, estranged pregnant wife. Er, estranged wife pregnant with someone else's kid. I saw where that was going, but it didn't distract. I think we could've done without the time in Nicaragua as it didn't as much to the story; Jamie fights his responsibilities only briefly before giving in to his possessive alpha side anyway. The time saved on Nicaragua and Summer's music stuff could have been repurposed for more character and plot development.

Be aware that Summer and Jamie's sexy times are on the erotic side, just shy of dom/sub only because Summer is too spicy to fully be submissive (thankfully). I could've done without "little girl" and"I'll spank your pretty butt" though. All the detail felt off, in part because of the "we're on the brink of an apocalypse" issue and in part because Jamie and Summer needed—in my opinion—more grown up/talking time for me to buy into them being soulmates.

On a totally different note, I love this author's name pairings. Adam and Eve is obvious. Jamie Snow and Summer Summers a little less so but still clear. Chase and Grace gets a little lost since Grace goes by Gray, but I hope the rhyme was intentional. Jay is up next. I know who his woman is but don't yet see anything there. I hope it's not my imagination though!

Anyway, I recommend reading the first two books—I loved them—and then give this one a shot since you need to for the overarching story. I just hope book 4 is a little more on par with 1 and 2.

I received an ARC of this book for free from the author and BookSirens. I'm writing this review voluntarily, and it reflects my honest opinion.

Saving Summer is the third book in A Joint Task Team series by Edith Lalonde. It's a dark, gritty and sometimes a heart breaking tale. Powerful characters, captivating storyline and seductive red hot romance. Saving Summer will hook a reader from the first page. It deserves all the stars. It's an emotional roller coaster and journey that had me glued to the pages wanting to know what happens next, rooting for the HEA. Edith Lalonde knows how to bring so much emotion, heat, depth and heart into storyline. The series keeps getting better and better and more addictive and gripping.
Just a reminder that this series still follows tough, dangerous, fiercely protective brave men of the Joint Task Team, members of a black ops unit, who are the best of the best when it comes to covert operations, brought together to protect their country from enemies near and far, making them a tight-knit group, the core of the team only counting on themselves by having each other's back which made their friendship / brotherhood / bond stronger and unbreakable.

Jamie's life comes crashing down thinking his career is over after a terrorist attack which left him with a debilitating knee injury and a thirst for revenge. Thanks to his teammates he has a chance at redemption, relieving the guilt he feels and a chance to start fresh. But he is not ready yet. Summer has been barely surviving, running away from her past. She finally found her place where she belongs with this mysterious team and she will fight to keep them in spite of grumpy, jaded military surgeon Jamie who wants her gone. Jamie and Summer are passionate, swoony and intense; their connection and chemistry sizzling. She makes him want to become a better man. She brings out his softer side, protectiveness and possessiveness. Soon, Jamie realizes that the only safe place is with him, but now he needs to convince Summer he is worthy of her heart and gain her trust. Their love story is layered, fast paced, real, emotional with an edge and depth. I loved how they blossomed and thrived, got their chance at love and a new beginning.

Another thrilling addition to already amazing series. An absolutely amazing book with everything you could possibly want if you love mysteries, thrillers, thirst for revenge, character driven storyline, romance, healing, looking for redemption, deceit and danger. So excited for the next book.

Wow, What a ride! This book starts off tame, if you will with a conversation between Jamie Snow and his wife, who wants to be ex wife, after he snuck his way into Boston. The calm ends very quickly with a mass casualty incident that occurs first at the Boston Common, and then morphs into every the nightmare of every Emergency Services healthcare provider everywhere. Active Shooter at Mass General in the ambulance bay. I mean as if the influx of patients from the first event wasn't bad enough, now they are dodging bullets as they are trying to save lives. (Thanks Ms. Lalonde, for hammering home why I've had an exit strategy for every Emergency Room I've ever worked in.)
This event is a chain reaction for the the whole JTT. Was Jamie the target? or was it coincidental? The more Jay, JTT's computer whiz and Jamie's best friend hammers away on his key board, the more questions they find than answers. As the pieces of everything start to fall into place, the JTT realizes they have a lot more problems globally then they first realized, which is going to come to play in the fourth book, which will be Jay's story.
I laughed and I cried with this book, for me the emotions poured out on the pages were amazing. My husband thought I'd lost my mind as I sat on the beach cackling over one scene. And while I hate spoilers in reviews, I'll say that Jay knocks Jamie unconscious with one punch as the quickest and easiest way to get Dr. Snow back to the JTT compound in Montana from the sleezy apartment he was renting south of the equator.
Summer Summers, the young lady that would become Jamie's kryptonite. She's had a rough life in her short 24 years, and did more surviving in 8 years than many do their whole life. But that's her strong trait, she's a survivor. Luck put her in the right place to become the nanny for the JTT. Jamie's wife was pregnant when she died, and the JTT took on the little bundle of joy. Little did she know that she would find the family she always wanted. I loved the development between these two. Their first encounter is also hilarious. As much as Jamie wanted to call the shots for her, she was stubborn and going to put up a bit of a fight. She's the perfect balance he needed. The heat between the sheets was off the charts.
While technically this book can be read as a stand alone, having read the whole series helps. You get the information you need, but reading the first two books a lot of the dynamics make more sense. Plus they are both are hold onto your seats heart pounding rides.
I received this book as an ARC for an honest and voluntary review.

This is the third book in the captivating "Joint Task Team" series by Edith Lalonde, although this is a standalone story, i.e Summer and Jamie's story there is a theme running through the series so I would urge reading the series in sequence.

Jamie had gone to see his pregnant ex wife, pregnant by another man, they were outside the emergency department at the hospital where she worked when shots were fired, Jamie, a member of the Joint Task Team started shooting back but his ex wife was already dying and he was badly injured.

Summer Summers had escaped from the cult where she lived with her mother, it was the day before her sixteenth birthday and the day that she was to be "given" to the cult leader.

Years later Summer was working as a nanny, a job that she loved but for the second time she had to escape, this time from the amorous advances from the children's father, with very little money, a broken down car and no one to help her Summer was desperate. When a job came up with the JTT looking after their latest arrival she jumped at the chance.

The JTT was an black ops group, the highly trained military team were more like brothers than buddies, Summer fitted in well, she loved it there until………

Jamie was determined that he wasn't rejoining the team, his knee was badly damaged and there was no way that he was putting other lives at risk because he wasn't 100% fit…… the team were just as determined that he was.

Jamie argued that Summer and the baby shouldn't be there, pocket rocket Summer was determined that she wasn't moving.

This story follows Summer and Jamie's arduous journey to their HEA, the barriers that both had erected that had to be scaled, the constant danger of living undercover, the corruption and cataclysmic danger from high places.

An enjoyable read and I look forward to the next one in the series.

I received a copy of this book on my lunch break today and may have pushed through a few yellow lights to get home to finish it. I haven't read the first two but will likely binge read both of them tonight and pre-order #4 - though I'm not thrilled I have to wait a whole year to see what comes next. And I'm hoping the rest of the gang also get their HEAs.

I started the book and thought I was in for some fairly typical surgeon life drama - similar vibe to Chicago Med with overbearing fathers and the struggle for a meaningful work-life balance. Then that shifted *real fast* as our hero, Jamie Snow, is shot back into his life as a member of a black ops team trying to protect the US Government from threats within. After he's wounded in a massacre, Jamie struggles to regain his sense of self and adjust to some pretty big changes in his life.

Meanwhile, our heroine, Summer Summers, is busy fighting her own battle against her employer's lecherous husband. When his advances push her too far and she's fired, she finds herself sleeping in her car and ready to take any job that comes along. Even nannying for a darling baby girl in a fortified secret compound seems like a beautiful opportunity.

Despite Jamie's desire for revenge and Summer's determination to protect herself, sparks fly between them from the moment they ~bump~ into each other. His urge to protect her has him pushing her away while her determination to hold on to her new found family within the Joint Task Team has her finding strength to fight for what she believes in and stand up to herself. Though as much as he tries, Jamie can't resist Summer's sweet and strong personality for long. Soon they're fighting for each other as much as they're fighting against the bad guys - and with folks out to get to each of them, there's no shortage of threats to be faced. But what better than a little firefight to really get the blood pumping...

This series just keeps getting better and better!

Oh my, I thought book 2 couldn't be topped, but the good doctor has proven me wrong! The book starts with Jamie, JTT's resident doctor, seeing his soon-to-be ex in Boston when all hell breaks loose. From his self-imposed seclusion to his thirst for revenge to his appreciation of his team, this story is full of action with a solid foundation of emotional strength. Then the team has to bring in an innocent nanny, Summer, who sets off every single one of Jamie's protective and possessive instincts and I'm here to tell you, their love story was glorious!

This is a complete standalone as far as the romance goes, but the ongoing situation that started in the first book is continuing to spiral out of control and it's anybody's guess how bad it's going to get before our team is finally triumphant. If you just want a steamy, sensual, heart-pounding romance, you'll get that here, in spades. But if you want to really feel the full effects of the intense investigation and truly understand everything that is at stake in this world, then you want to start at the very beginning.

On a bit of a side note - there was one teeny-tiny thread left hanging at the end of the book for Summer, and I thought that was that. Then I clicked through to the bonus epilogue offered by the author and was delighted to see that little detail resolved beautifully.

This series is so well-written that I have a hard time believing the author hasn't been published before. The authenticity is palpable, the details are evident of extensive research, and the ability to juggle so many interconnected storylines is nothing short of amazing. I am absolutely hooked on this series and can't wait for the next book to come out. I voluntarily reviewed an ARC of this book.

I love the way the author pulls a little more on the thread that interconnects this series. Some of it having me catch my breath (Tak), the mass shootings, and how mankind can and will be evil. I knew when we met Summer as a Nanny at the governors that this was going to come back and bite her in the butt. The reason it came back was a surprise, I thought for sure it would be linked to the series thread. I was wrong. Other little surprises came about like Jay and his past. Setting up for book 4. Gray had me snorting with her tell it like it is and her baby comments. I like this series, well ok, I love this series. I am excited to see how this all plays out. Book 1 was off the charts. Book 2 was still a winner but indulged in more physical/emotional romance. Book 3 had the potential to hit it out of the ball park, but spent to much time in the physical - erotica. When it was dealing with Summer and Jamie as people with personalities and the rest of the family (Joint Task Team) it scored high. No doubt the erotica will score high with others, its not my thing, but the plot lines this author weaves have corralled me. Thank you for the arc. I freely volunteer my thoughts and opinions. #Savingsummer #ajointtaskteam #edithlalonde #booksirens

This series is fantastic- suspenseful storyline that continues through each book with twists, surprises and tons of heart pounding action. Each book focused on a JTT team member and the woman who changes their life for the better.

Jamie’s world comes crashing down when his pregnant by someone else and nearly ex-wife is tragically killed during an mass casualty event. Jamie is severely injured during the same event.

Summer is a young woman who has been barely surviving on her own since escaping from a cult 1 day before her 16th birthday. Summer has been working for as a nanny and she is doing her best to avoid the lecherous hands of the children’s father. One desperate moment ends with her being fired and out on her ear with little cash to her name.

Jamie and Summer are brought together when Jamie’s team hire her to be the nanny for her Ex-wife’s motherless baby. Summer is sassy and determined to stay in the safest place she’s ever been and among people who treat her like family.

Jamie eventually gets his head straight and he decides Summer and the baby are ‘his’ girls and he’s going to do everything he can to protect them and love them.

The chemistry between Summer and Jamie is sizzling hot and their banter and dirty talk will melt your kindle.

I’m super excited for the next book in this series and totally recommend this book. Definitely start with book 1 to get the most enjoyment from the series.

In Saving Summer the JTT's mission to stop the national security threat becomes increasingly critical and more convoluted with international implications. In addition, there is an assassination, kidnapping and few twists and turns along the way and some startling revelations that set up the plotlines for upcoming JTT books. Ms Lalonde also injects some humorous banter that had me chuckling out loud.

Dr. Jamie Snow is a man on a mission after witnessing and being a part of a horrendous tragedy. He seemingly frops off the face of the earth untilit becomes imperative that he rejoins the team after which they stage a needed intervention. Summer Summers had to learn to be self reliant and independent at the age of sixteen. Her last job as a nanny became too problematic to stay despite the love she had for her two charges. Down to her last dime the job offer fron JTT is a godsend. She couldn't be happier. She's has finally a home and her people. Summer learns to stand her ground and has a few surprises up her sleeve. Although these two butt heads routinely their attraction is white hot. As Jamie works on acceptance of the past, he and Summer form their future.

This is the third book in the Joint Task Team series and while I'd say you can read Jamie and Summers story as a standalone I think this series is best read in order. There is an enemy the JTT is fighting and it all starts in book one. I love the JTT group dynamics, they are more than a team, they are family. Their antics make me laugh. Summer has been on her own since she was 15, she's never had anyone she could count on until she meets the guys from JTT and their significant others. She's hired to be a nanny for Jamie's daughter while he's away and quickly falls in love with the tiny little bundle. Jamie is wallowing in guilt and determined to get revenge for his ex's death and his career ending injuries, but things start to change when the guys drag him home and he meets Summer and his daughter. He doesn't want to care but he's determined to keep them both safe. Steamy, page turning, I'm not sure how I'm going to manage waiting until next year for book four. Can't wait to read Jay's story. Saving Summer is the 3rd book in the Joint Task Team series and I highly recommend reading the previous books in the series because the underlying suspene and action plot has it's beginning in the first book and will carry on into the next one. The romance between Jamie and Summer is the only stand-alone part and it does come to a happy end, but it is the suspense that is very much the focus of the book with lots of sub-plots involving not just the team, but Jamie and Summer individually. I was a bit disappointed that we don't get more information on how Summer actually managed to land the nanny job at the Governor's ranch and the relationship between her and Jamie goes from insta-lust to love very quickly via a series of steamy sexy times, but without a lot of conversations. Fast-paced and entertaining, I did not find the book easy-to-read due to the sheer number of things going on.

Saving Summer a continuation of the storyline from prior books as the team work toward discovering who the threat is against them there's nice twisty tidbits of information revealed throughout the book that keeps you engrossed. Jamie and Summer's story is a page turner filled with drama intrigue hotter than heck heat, laughter and a sadness that pulls you in and makes you feel like you're experiencing the lowest possible moments of devastation and
the highest high when Summer and Jamie overcome their tragic past and begin to heal and grow as a couple. This book is filled with quirky nosy friends who have each other's back and will go to any lengths to protect those people who are considered to be family. Loved the nod to Rebecca Zanetti and her Protectors series. Looking forward to Jay's story

This is book three in The Joint Task Team series and it is Jamie and Summer’s story. When Jaime and Summer meet there is an instant connection, attraction and chemistry between them but they had both gone through so much in their lives so they both have baggage and have been through their own struggles and challenges and even though they had many ups and downs along the way they are still perfect for each other but it will take some time for them to realise this because of their past’s. There are twists and turns along with danger, suspense, action, drama, revenge, trauma, strong characters, hope and situations that will have you turning the pages to see what would happen next and it is so addictive along with a storyline that will pull you in and keep you hooked. This is a standalone book but I certainly recommend that you start reading from book one to appreciate all the history. I definitely recommend you read this book and series and you will not be disappointed.

Life's challenges don't need to keep you down

Edith Lalonde has mastered the art weaving the stories of some solid characters. There's no messing around, Jamie witnesses something so horrific that, sadly, so many people experience - the murder of his ex-wife.

Summer is to be admired, she managed to escape from the cult she was born into & became a carer/nanny. She has a soothing calming demeanour that children respond to, unfortunately she is on the receiving end of sexual harressment but she was strong enough to leave.

Jamie and Summer's relationship goes from 0 to full on very quickly.

I was intrigued by the characters experiences prior to their meeting, violence and are a daily occurrence in many people's lives and that's what sucked me into their story.

Good read, made me think and reflect …

Sizzling:
The heat was turned way up with this one! There was steamy romance and heart stopping intrigue and suspense. What I really liked though was the emotional depth that it contained and the strong bond that existed between these team/family members. Jamie and Summer made an adorable couple and I loved seeing the growth and healing that they were able to find in each other.
This book is best read as part of the series as there is a continuing mystery and follow on from previous books. It took me a while to recall all of the details and figure out what was going on, but I was soon drawn back into the mystery and now I can't wait to find out what happens next.

Another Thrilling Installment!

This third installment of the JTT’s adventures was thrilling and a great addition to the series!

I loved that this story had great character development and that the characters met at the right time, it felt organic and made it that much easier to connect!

The foreshadowing for the next book also leaves some real excitement, and the JTT’s journey to justice is definitely going to get more intense!

I loved the FMC who was just full of surprises, and how the cantankerous MMC was won over, revealing his alpharoll personality! They were a great match.

This story contains mystery, secrets, MCs in danger, found family, humor, heartache, delicious spice and happily for now scenario.

A definite must read!

This is the 3rd book in the Joint Task Team series. It can be read as a standalone but by reading in order you get the underlying storyline, and a plot that grows and gathers threads throughout each book. This is Summer (Nanny employed by the Black Ops Team) and Jamie (black ops team member/injured military surgeon) story. Their attraction in the beginning could be described as a love hate relationship, will they overcome their attraction and let nature take its course? There is action aplenty, suspense and twists and turns that will keep you on your toes. This is a very enjoyable to read.

Summer is the perfect soul mate for Jamie and together they are fire add in other alpha protectors and a baby and you have magic. All the twists and turns and when I thought I had it figured out TWIST not wht I was expecting on the found item that got Summer in trouble. The plot of this was so well done and edge of your seat page turner . I can’t wait for the next book in this series. I have a new favorite to add to my top fav authors of all time.

This was my first read by this author and I confess I am totally hooked. Even though I had not read the first two books I was able to follow the JTT interconnection well. Filled with powerful characters, evil, brotherhood, heartbreak, survival, strength, mystery, stubbornness, revenge, humor, tension, steamy moments, belonging, hope, camaraderie, protectiveness, corruption, healing, redemption and love. Jamie and Summer’s emotional journey will keep you turning the pages. Looking forward to reading more of the JTT series. HEA.

I really wanted more of a story in this book - too hot and heavy sexual content when the storyline could have been expanded to elaborate on some of the plots in play. I needed more information about pending disasters in the horizon. I wanted Tak to come home, I wanted more gotcha bad, bad guys (or at least a few of them) to show progress in the safety of the world. And, boy oh boy, I hope this stuff is all fiction, because if it was true and hackers of the world unite, I would lose my mind, which just goes to show the writing of Edith Lalonde is fabulously real, and you're right there beside these wonderful characters fighting the fight!

Received as an ARC and leaving my honest review voluntarily. Although each book is a standalone, the main story arc connects the books in the series so it helps if you read the earlier books. If you love a fast paced story filled with suspense/intrigue/danger, alpha males and strong female leads, steamy moments between the main couple in the story and well developed characters overall, you definitely need to read this book (and series)! Can't wait for the next book as it looks to be gearing up to the next level of danger!

While Jaime goes to see his wife regarding divorce papers, there is a shooting and they come under attack. Despite serious injuries, his father helps Jaime escape and he goes on the the run. Summer leaves her nanny position and is offered a position at JTT where she meets Jaime and the rest of the team.
Edith Lalonde keeps the action and suspense at high level with so many plots to unravel, I was glued to the pages. Not only did they set the sheets on fire, they almost burnt the house down.

Great read with all the feels filling the pages. Who knew Doc was such a dirty talker? Once he met Summer, all bets were off, he became a different person. As with the first two books in the series, the characters were amazing and the brotherhood of the JTT showed their skill and commitment to family. It will be torture waiting for Jay's story until 2024, but I'll be waiting in the wings.

Mind blown? Yes indeed! Once again Edith set off fireworks! Summer & Jamie set the sheets ablaze! The team of elite yet misfits are true family but not of the blood type. You admire each & every men & women. Finally when Jamie got his head screwed on, Watch out Summer! Electric! Enjoyed every page & waiting the next!!!

Wow great book!

I really adored the simmering protective feelings that went both ways for this couple. This was a story about military surgeon Jamie and the love of his life, Summer. Their chemistry really was hot as their characters get closer and get over the initial alienation brought about by Jamie. Not sure what his problem was but he gets over it quick.

Very well done, fantastic characters and I loved the danger and drama through out this book. Great work Edith!!

This book sucked me in straight away. Wow. The action that we saw through Jamie's eye made it hard to put the book down. I enjoyed Summer's character as sge was introduced as well. It did get a little slow for me at times after this, but overall was a very enjoyable read. Lalonde has done it again and yet I am still not satisfied because I need to know what has happened to Tak. I voluntarily reviewed an ARC of this book from BookSirens. All opinions in this review are my own and freely given.

Loved, Loved, Loved this book. Great Romantic Suspense and worth every minute of my time. Exciting, Harrowing, Suspenseful, with a lot of loving thrown in as well. Strong female and male characters, with flaws, like all of us reading these books. I have to go back and read the first two books of this series while I am waiting for book 4 to come out next year, 2024.
