My name is Charlotte Knox, and I just passed the bar exam, set up my first office, and got my first client. Good times, right?
Not as much as you might think.

The simple missing person assignment gets complicated when I realize that not only is Ryleigh on the run to protect her sticky-fingered ward, twelve-year-old Nate Byrne, she's also trying to keep a soul stone out of Drakat's blood-soaked claws.
The stone in question is the Caraigama – a talisman that allows the bearer to travel through time – and if Drakat bonds with it, taking over will only be her first step. Drakat wants Lucifer's job, and the power of the time stone just might be enough to give it to her.
With the stakes this high, the demon is ready to spill as much blood as necessary to control the Caraigama, even if she has to destroy Ryleigh, Nate, me, and the rest of Belfast to do it.
Lucky for me, I have my own soul stone, and its wyvern guardian, Sasha. With his help, and the support of my boyfriend, Cole, I think I can save the woman, the boy, and the stone, and be home in time for my next court date.
At least… I hope I can.
