After the Fire

Rate this book
Denise had no plans to leave Pennsylvania, at least, not until her world literally went up in flames.
A recently retired schoolteacher, Denise Richards was perfectly happy in Harrisburg, Pennsylvania reading novels and sipping coffee on her back porch. With two grown children and a loving husband, she had an ideal life- until she lost it all in a tragic fire.

With nothing to hold her back, Denise embarks on a road trip across America that takes her from coast to coast. From camping in California to picking up a handsome salsa partner in Dallas, Denise learns to love and laugh again.

A heartwarming novel about healing, relationships, and family, After the Fire will make you laugh, cry, and want to plan your own cross-country road trip.

This book started out great. A definite 5-star book. It'll make you laugh and cry, and root for Denise. And she comes full round, from deep depression to moments of happiness. SPOILER ALERT: And then you get to the end of the book, the epilogue. And the author is basically saying Ha Ha Gotcha! What a crap ending. You get 3 stars for 99% of the book. 0 stars for the end. This is one of the most disappointing endings ever written.
