What the heck happened? One minute I was in my workshop creating a new sculpture. The next I was being given CPR on the dirt road outside.... By my prickly ex- girlfriend D iana's sister Helena, of all people!

Diana ditched me a decade ago, telling me I was a 'loser' and we had no future together. I've slaved away ever since to prove her wrong. I'm back on the reservation now after years in Europe making a name for myself in the art world--Edward Whitehawk.

Things sure have changed since I've been gone. Helena has grown into a skilled doctor, and the most beautiful woman I've ever seen. The two of us are getting closer every minute we spend together. The trouble is, I can guess what my ex will do if she EVER finds out the two of us are falling in love. It ain't gonna be pretty....

But the heart wants what it wants. I desire Helena like I crave the freedom of soaring in the mountains every time I shape-shift. The big question is, at what point can I confess to the woman I'm obsessed with that I'm a hawk? Revealing my supernatural powers to Helena could mean losing her forever. Yet not telling her might also be the path to her dumping me faster than Diana did all those years ago--and I never even told her my secret.

My only glimmer of hope is Helena's powerful brother-in-law Artem trying to help me get to the bottom of whoever tried to kill me. He reveals he's a werewolf, the Alpha of the local pack. Whoa . How bad can hawk be for Helena after a bombshell like that?!

Except Artem warns me that to stay FAR away from Helena because of 'bad magics'. Yet his snarling is only making me ache for Helena more than ever, even though it's clear that the woman I'm falling in love with has some deep, dark secrets of her own. Can I manage to live long enough to find out what they are....?

This is a good read but the reader is left hanging at the end. The reader finds out Whitehawk is a hawk shifter but are Helena and 2 of her sisters bear shifters or wolf? With a surname of Moonbear it seems obvious but one sister was turned by a werewolf to save her life. I know the cliffhanger is to get the other books purchased but I would prefer to have the set about each individual. It is still a decent book and worth reading if you like cliffhangers.

Not a story that I can reading again.
It feel force, with a lot of issues half resolved, to many secrets and mystery characters with double lives in a small place... i don't liked, even when I know it is a story with continue books, i don't want to waste my reading time with a story that maybe have a unfinished ending or worst.

It never fails when a couple fight like this they will are they care about each other.

This series is about Edward, the hawk and Dr. Helena, a bear. Once again, he keeps saying the wrong thing and that starts a fight.

"She hauled off and slapped him so hard, he spun, and landed on one of the dinette set benches." This had me in tears, I was laughing so hard. That's what happens when you try to run other folks business, lol! A nice build but I want more.

wolf hawk

Needed more transformation. There was a lot of back history but it wasn’t used as a catalyst. Romance was very sloe
