Can’t get her out of his heart…

Firefighter Lucas “Oz” Osborne used to be a lot of things: shy, geeky, nerdy…but the one thing he’s always been is in love with his childhood friend Hannah. Even a stint in the Peace Corps and reconnecting with his Native American roots never fully extinguished the torch he’s carried for her. But nothing prepared him for the three-alarm-fire she sets off in his heart and body when she walks back into his life.

Walls around her heart…

Hannah Gilders saw what the pain of being abandoned did to her mother. No man is ever going to hurt her that way. But when her new employer assigns her to produce a firefighter calendar to benefit the Lions Burn Care Unit, Hannah’s shocked to discover that one of the sexiest firefighters in Reno is her childhood friend, Lucas. He’d be perfect for the calendar, if only she can convince him she’s not the only one who’d love to get a closer look at his hot body.

Embers burst into flames…

As old sparks kindle into new flames, Hannah’s fears and insecurities threaten to finally put out the fire that’s been burning all these years in Lucas’s heart. When tragedy strikes, will their fragile relationship crumble into ashes, or ignite a love that burns brightly for a lifetime?

Tracey’s writing has been described as “vivid” and “gut-wrenchingly beautiful” and has been accused of making readers cry. All of which makes her heart feel ten times bigger because (despite having the appearance of a got-it-together business owner) she’s a hopeless romantic who believes that love—in all its many forms—truly makes the world go round.

Get swept away by wounded, flawed and vulnerable heroes (and the women who love them).

Join strong heroines on their riveting journeys through loss, forgiveness and self-realization.

Hang onto the edge of your seat through action-packed adventure and drama.

And most of all, escape into the combustible combination of ‘slow burn’ sensual pleasure and true love!

Tracey is a former Army combat medic and EMT. When not writing (or working part-time to support her writing habit), Tracey enjoys riding her motorcycle (which she affectionately calls ‘Black Widow’); spending time at the lake with family; and watching her favorite soccer teams (which include her kids’).

She lives on a 3-acre oasis in small-town Minnesota with a small menagerie of critters, an infinitesimally understanding hubby, and two almost-grown children who put up with the ‘embarrassment’ of a motorcycle-riding, romance writing mom!

In this latest addition to the series, we get to spend time with Lucas/Oz Osbourne and Hannah Gilders.
Lucas and Hannah met when they were in their teens and became fast friends. They secretly had a crush on the other one. Fter HS they went their separate ways. Lucas went to college , the Peace Corps and later returned home to Reno and become a firefighter.
Hannah left and worked in advertising in LA until her grandmother needed her, thus returning home to Reno.
In her new job, Hannah has been assigned to create Reno’s firefighters calendar . Never did she expect to come face to face with Lucas, the boy from her past, now a man.
Both these characters have insecurities . Hannah’s father abandoned her and her mom when she was 6 years old. That left emotional scars. She has doubts about love, men and a forever with anyone.
Lucas is reserved, and more of a quiet man with a big heart.
Will he be able to show her that they belong together, or will Hannah’s fears and an unexpected accident make her withdraw forever?
This story reminds one that our experiences as a child do in fact affect the adult one becomes. Sometimes we need to take a leap of faith and realize that finding love is the best gift we can receive and give.
I was entrusted a copy of this book. The opinions expressed are solely my own.

4*+ ARC Review – Much More than Mr. October
I was introduced to this author and series through Hidden Gems ARC program. I had read the first book and liked it so thought I would give this one a chance. Truly enjoyed this story more and might need to read more of the series. This story focuses on Lucas and Hannah, who knew each other as kids but had not seen each other in many years. Hannah has moved back to Reno to be close to her grandmother and was assigned the firefighter calendar from her new ad agency. When she starts the project, she is reintroduced to Lucas, who was a friend from school and a lot has changed since they last saw each other.
Although there is an attraction from the beginning, both seem to be fighting their feelings. Hannah because of her family history, does not want to depend on a man and have heart broken like her mother. Lucas on the other hand has been attracted to Hannah since they were kids but wants to be more than just the hot firefighter on October’s page. They have an interesting dynamic, and I enjoyed the depth the author gave Lucas and his insistence that Hannah see him as more.

This was a quick read friends to lovers romance.

I liked the story, thought it was well developed. Lucas' character was well written and relatable, but Hannah came across as unapproachable and sort of bland. I would have liked to see more chemistry between the characters.

Hannah Gilders is a project manager at an ad agency. She gets put in charge of producing the semi annual Nevada State Firefighters Association calendar to benefit a local burn unit.

Lucas "Oz" Osborne is a firefighter. His chief makes him point person for the calendar project. He has been in love with Hannah since he was fourteen. He is reluctant to be photographed for the calendar.

They reconnect after a meeting with his chief. Hannah is thrilled to see her childhood friend again but is focused on her career. Her grandmother Aggie helps her see her true feelings for Lucas after he is involved in a major fire. She goes to him and confessed her feelings for a HEA.

(4.5) Ah be still my heart. Native American who was the skinny nerd, now a hot fire fighter. His childhood friend and crush (non-Native American) shows up at the Fire station to enlist fireman for the calendar. There was so much that transpire here, like Maisey (read the book) she sure made a valid point with the calendar). Native American heritage pass down. Growing up knowing your farther walked out, your mom was wreck, where do you go from there, how do you have faith in a future. Family being your grandmother, or the Fire station, or helping out the needy on the reservation. This series is about steam in and out of the bedroom but I absolutely love the reality thread that plays in each book. Thank you for the arc! I freely volunteer my thoughts and opinions. #TracyCramerKelly # OctoberFire #hiddengems

Wow! Well, this book was amazing. I absolutely loved LOVED Lucas aka Oz in this book. The way Lucas wholeheartedly feels, cares, helps and gives is so inspirational. The way he loves so passionately, selfishly and slowly is simply irresistible. I loved everything about Lucas in this book and felt his pain, his passion and his emotions as I read. Hannah has her heart locked up tight until she sees Lucas once again in the most unexpected places. The chemistry, banter and undeniable attraction is evident and unavoidable. I loved this book as much as I loved the others in this series and was happy to read of some of the other characters in this story.

I enjoyed reading Lucas and Hannah's story and getting to know them. Lucas is an excellent example of a man knowing his heart. Their story is intense with various emotions that pull heartstrings. Hannah is skittish and Lucas is very patient. Tides turning and decisions need making when these two friend consider being more. I received a free copy and voluntarily chose to leave this review.

In high school, Lucas and Hannah had crushes on each other, but never told each other. Years later, Hannah is assigned a project as a project manager to plan the firefighter calendar for this year, only to run into Lucas. Hannah's pass with her father prevents her from acting on her feelings for Lucas, while Lucas struggles not to confess his feelings for her too soon. But, after being forced to work together and witnessing Lucas near-fatal accident, Hannah took a leap of faith and realized her true feelings for him.
The story between the FMC AND MMC was engaging enough to keep you interested in the character development and ending story for such a short read. The plot was well-paced and not at all repetitive, which is common in short stories, but the author was successful in keeping it well-paced and hitting all of the points.

I thought Kade and Riley’s story was better than this one. I really liked Lucas. Hannah was a little more difficult to like. I really wanted to like her. I just couldn’t. I wanted more chemistry between them as well. A quick short read. It left me wanting more.

I voluntarily read and reviewed an advance copy of this book.
