Alpha Cade Lyall moved his small pack to the Lyall ancestral home in Arcane Valley to take over the North Carolina territory. There he meets Reina who isn't what she seems at first.
Hey there, reader! I guess this is where I put a little something about myself. Well, I’m just your average middle-aged woman from the Midwest in the United States. I come from a large, loud, crazy, loving family. I have always loved to read and write. Now, I’m trying to put those ideas tumbling around my head (and keeping me up at night) onto paper!
I’m married to an awesome guy who puts up with my antics and supports my need to write, even if he doesn’t understand it. I have two beautiful kids who love to drive me up the wall (that second one though, am I right?). Two cats who complain about their feeding schedule every day, and a crazy dog who is a bit of a derp.
So far most of the books I have an idea for are paranormal romance, maybe some sci-fi romance thrown in there for flavor. I don’t write fast, but for every book I finish that is another accomplishment for me!
Really enjoyable shifter story full of drama and heat. I liked the relationship between Reina and Cade. I look forward to seeing how things work out with the others in the pack.
Reina Sinclair is made an orphan after the brutal murder of her parents by the treacherous Nikolai. Before the passing of her parents, Reina’s mother hands over a protection necklace to her to enable her to escape from possible capture. After Reina’s successful escape from the Rogues' pack, she encounters Cade and his troop, which comprises Dirk, Alec, Chase, and Gunner. Initially, Cade is unaware that Reina is also supernatural, like himself. However, after realizing Reina’s truth, he decides to assist her in taking revenge on Nikolai. In the planning for Nikolai's dismissal, tingling romance sprouts between Reina and Cade. Unfortunately, none of these plans to eliminate Nikolai realize at that time. This combat is no longer Reina’s alone, but one with the backing of her friends.
I reminisced a little about twilight and the original series because of this book. This book is about the supernatural world, making references to creatures like wolves and witches. I was elated to read about the activation of the Lycan curse. C.L Wyer conveyed this book using simple diction. The characters in the book were not bulky. They all complemented each other effortlessly. Even though Nikolai played the villain, by kidnapping women, and being a vile individual, he was my favorite character in the book. His role was not as predictable as the others, and I enjoyed having him on the pages of my book.
Regrettably, you can foresee the ending from the beginning of the book. Predicting the climax of the book before even reaching it made this book uninteresting to me. Hence, I did not enjoy the suspense and thrills brought by these kinds of books. I did not find errors in my reading, meaning the book was exceptionally well-edited. For this reason, I am rating this book 4 out of 5 stars.
FINDING OUR PACK is such a terrific shifter romance! Nikolai, crazed and evil son of two Alphas, kills the Alpha of the Sinclair pack because he is obsessed with Kiera, the wife of the Alpha. Reina, their daughter, narrowly escapes with divine help and is raised as a human due to a protection charm. I loved the rich world building in this novel, with a great mix of traditional shifter lore plus different paranormals and Reina living in secret among friends Cat and others in Arcane Valley where her protection charm/curse is now wearing off. Cade is another werewolf and Alpha of a tiny pack. He’s determined to help restore the rightful Alpha to the Sinclair pack, which has suffered for the past two decades, with Nikolai committing unspeakable crimes during his illegal tenure as Alpha. I liked seeing the relationship develop between Cade and Reina and also the developments in the Sinclair pack. The book ended with a great lead in for book two and I definitely am interested to read more! 5/5 stars.
Going into this book, I wasn't sure as to what I was getting into, and after reading I can honestly say I was enthralled the more I read. The more you read, the less you want to put it down.
There are so many possibilities with all these characters, so many stories that have yet to be told. Will these characters end up meshing? What about other packs? And what about more witches?! I am excited for the rest! Bravo!
This debut novel from C.L. Wyer was a good and quick read for me . There is a bit of mystical and magical elements in it, along with some mythology. It starts out a bit bloodthirsty, but settled into a great story.
