SEAL's Pregnant One-Night Stand

Rate this book
A one-night stand leaves this Navy SEAL with a surprise...

It was just supposed to be one night of no-strings-attached fun, but now Sofia Popov has become the center of former Navy SEAL Ian Campbell’s life...

Sofia turns out to be the teacher of Ian’s teen son, Gavin—the same teacher who meets him in the hospital when Gavin suffers a seizure at school. And he’s not the only teen who’s landed in the hospital. Something is going on at the school and Ian is already formulating a plan to make those responsible pay, when Sofia drops a bombshell: she’s pregnant.

Sofia’s in way over her head—not only with Ian but also with a dangerous drug cartel that wants her silenced. While the police don’t take her concerns seriously, Ian’s private investigation firm does. And that’s a good thing, because this cartel wants to shut her up. Permanently.

She doesn’t think twice when Ian offers her a safe place to stay. Now it’s up to Ian’s private investigation firm to get to the bottom of things to protect the teens of San Diego—and the woman who’s winning Ian’s heart.

Thanks to Netgalley for a copy of this book for an honest review.

Full of intrigue and angst, I love a good SEAL book! Ian and Sofia enjoy a one night stand and part without exchanging information. They run into each other, realising their worlds are more closely linked than they knew. Short and entertaining!

This was a really good introduction to the Bronte Security Services team. I enjoyed seeing the way the guys interacted with each other and I’m already looking forward to the rest of the series. It hurt my heart how closed off Ian is and to witness all the trouble he’s having relating to his teenaged son. I loved Sofia’s fierce drive to see her students protected and that she wouldn’t take “no” for an answer in that quest. As a pairing, I think Sofia and Ian push each other to be their best selves and I’m hoping that we’ll see lots more of them together in cameo appearances in the upcoming books.

Sofia and Ian meet each other in a bar one night and agree to a one-night stand but the universe has a different plan. They reconnect when Ian's son ends up in the hospital. They are thrown into a story about unexpected pregnancy, teen drug use, and bad guys. Can they help Ian's son, stop the bad guys, and fall in love?

I'm not going to spend too much time reviewing this book. I think it was a nice enough story that had a really happy ending but it's just forgettable. The characters are nice, the story is nice, the bad guys are bad, the teenagers are teenagers, etc. Nothing jumped out at me. The one thing I will say is that I think you need to read this because it's part of the series.

This is a contemporary romance. I will read more stories from this author because I generally enjoy her writing.

This is book one of the Bronte Security Services, a security firm formed by three friends and former Navy SEALs, Ian, Charlie Bronte, who the firm is named after, and Eric, who all worked on the same SEAL team. When their CO Charlie retired and wanted to set up a security firm, they joined him soon after, along with a formidable front desk, admin person in Rosa, who keeps everyone in line! The main characters in this story are Ian Campbell and Sofia Popov, his son Gavin’s high school chemistry teacher. They first meet when her friend Karen has her come with her when she is on a Tinder date, just in case her date Eric doesn’t show or she needs rescuing. It turns out that Karen’s red-headed date has done something similar, bringing along Ian, just in case his date doesn’t go for redheads! Turns our Eric and Karen are happy to hook up and leave soon after, leaving Sofia to get home alone, until Ian confirms he will see her home safely. Ian and Sofia hook up for a one night stand, neither of them wanting anything else, as both have been damaged by their childhood upbringings. Sofia has seen the struggle her mother went through after her husband kicked them both out of the family home after he decided to move someone else in, and how hard it was for her mother to adapt, having never worked before. Ian was raised by a very strict military father and was forced to never show emotion and this has caused him issues in his relationship with his teenage son.
Next time they meet, is in a hospital, after fourteen year old Gavin collapsed and had a fit after sneaking out to smoke an MDMA laced marijuana cigarette. Luckily for them, Gavin dropped the remainder of the cigarette when he collapsed and Sofia bagged it, knowing it was evidence. Her former experience in a lab means she can test it for other substances and is aware of the link to other teenagers needing hospital after smoking marijuana and one even dying at a party. Ian is shocked to see Sofia, especially in this type of situation and finds it hard to believe his own son is dabbling with drugs. His son usually lives with his mother, and his ex-wife had remarried but was having issues with a visa for her German husband, so Gavin had to stay with Ian, until she could sort this out. He hasn’t had much interaction with is son, always being away on missions during his childhood and they are treading carefully around each other. Ian offers the use of his security company to follow up on her suspicions, after the police don’t even bother recording her initial complaint. She spots a former student dealing on the edge of the school grounds and accosts him, but is soon targeted. She brings all the evidence to Ian at his firm and he brings in Charlie and Eric, all of them having specialised skills which form a whole when investigating cases. Afterwards, Sofia stops to speak to Ian, on a more personal manner, as she breaks the news that she believes she is two months pregnant and he is the father! Although shocked to start, he soon gets excited, wondering if this will give him a fresh start to raise a child and do all the things he missed out on with Gavin.
Sofia isn’t giving up and matters escalate quickly, with her home and life in danger, when it becomes clear a nasty cartel are behind the expanding drugs swarming the high school and area and San Diego in general. They want her silenced and aren’t bothered about using extreme violence against her and anyone else in their way. When in danger, the only person she can think to call is Ian and he offers her a safe place to stay, with him and Gavin, in his home, where he can keep her close and protect her, while all this is going on. They get a lot closer and gel in the bedroom, but outside of it, he clashes with her when she tries to intervene with his parenting of Gavin, especially when they both get very heated and loud at each other. She tries to explain Gavin’s feelings of getting used to this new situation of being placed with his dad and a new stepfather to get to know, all with little choice of his own. But Ian isn’t happy for her to use her teaching experience to try and work with Gavin to ease relationships. The news of a new baby brother or sister, leaves Gavin feeling betrayed and even more alone. Acting out is normal as a teenager, but Gavin certainly takes it to the extreme and emotions get the better of both adults. Taking his eye off the ball, soon sees Sofia in severe danger again, this time so much worse than ever before, as the cartel take action to make an example of her. Ian Charlie and Eric will have to work quickly to save Sofia and stop this danger to teens and others in the city of San Diego.
A love story that doesn’t take a very normal route, bringing in the battle against the ever expanding reach of drugs in the community and the criminals behind it all. As well as the struggles of teens in the modern world, childhood issues and their effects on later life, and the problems with relationships in modern life with so many blended families. A well written story, where a one night stand quickly becomes something more, but mixed with danger and growth of both main characters as they have to adjust their expectations which were so badly damaged by their pasts, and grow into a joint new future all together. I received an ARC copy of this book from BookSprout and I have freely given my own opinion of the book above.

Leslie North has written a 5-star book. This is the story of Sofia and Ian. Sofia had gone to the Gaslamp Quarter Bar as backup for her friend Karen. Karen had a blind date and was not sure about it. While they were sitting at the bar, Sofia was looking at a good-looking man. The man was looking at her also. When a table was cleared, Karen when to grab it for her and her date. A man with red hair walked up to Karen and then sat down. As Sofia watched Karen, a man walked up and said "Hi." The voice was deep enough to resonate over the pulsing bassline in the bar. Sofia turned a polite dismissal on her lips but froze when she saw who was standing there. It was the man she had been watching giving her a look that suggested the feeling was mutual. "Hi there." She said. I'm Ian and we're both on friend-watching duty tonight. "I guess. He points to the guy Karen was with and said, "The guy who just joined your friend is my friend, Eric. "Oh!" Sofia understood what he was saying now., "I'm Sofia, she stretched her hand and Ian takes it to shake. She tells him that she is Karen's bodyguard for the night. Ian tells her that he was babysitting that night. They talk about their friends for a little bit. They look over at Karen and Eric and it looks like they are having a good time. Karen and Eric come up to them and tell them that they are leaving and Sofia said that was was leaving also. Ian said that he would see her home. There is something between Sofia and Ian and they end up sleeping together. When Sofia wakes up the next morning, she is alone. They didn't give each other their last names so she can't go and look for him. Ian is at work when he gets a call and is told that his son Gavin is at the hospital and had a seizure at school and his teacher was the one who came to the hospital with him. When Ian gets to the hospital and sees Sofia, he wants to know what she is doing there. She tells him that she is Gavin's teacher. He wants to know what happened to Gavin. She tells him what she knows and Ian is not happy with what he is told. She tells him that this is not the first time that this has happened and another teenager had died because of this problem. Ian works for a security company and he tells her that they would look into it. Sofia tells him that she thinks that the drugs at school were enhanced. She tells him that she can keep some of the drugs and test them and tells him the compound since she is a chemistry teacher. He asked if she did anything about it and she said that she had but nothing was done about it. When she gets ready to leave, Ian said something about the night they had spent together and he asked her to keep it to herself. She got the message right then and she said that she would. Sofia tests the drugs and she gets a call from Ian asking her to come to his office for a meeting. After the meeting, she asked to speak to Ian in private. She tells him that she is pregnant and things do not go well. Sofia tells him that he doesn't need to do anything at all for her or the baby and walks away from him. The next time they meet, she is very professional toward him and doesn't say anything about that night. Charlie, Ian's boss has found out a few things and wants to talk to Sofia so she is called in for a group meeting. Charlie tells her that he thinks that the cartel is behind the drug problem at her school. Sofia is in bed and her phone rings at 2 A.M. and she is told to get out of her house. She is not sure what is going on but when she touched her bedroom door, it is hot. She knows then that someone set fire to her house. Ian has talked to Sofia in a few days and he feels like something is off. He goes towards Sofia's house. When he gets close all he can see is fire and smoke. He looks around for Sofia but doesn't see her and all her neighbor's lights are off. He goes to the back of the house and sees Sofia trying to come out the window. After everything is taken care of, she is told that she can't stay there. Ian offers to let her stay with him and Gavin. She tells him that she could stay in a hotel but he reminds her that someone just tried to kill her. She agrees to go to Ian until the repairs on her house are done. They talk things out and get back together. Ian still wants things kept a secret for the moment. Their relationship doesn't stay secret long since Gavin walked in on them and gets mad at them both for not telling him they were seeing each other. He gets madder when he is told about the baby. Things are going well for them until things between Ian and Gavin go south. Sofia said something and Ian just let her have it. They have words and Sofia tells him that they were over and that she would keep him informed about the baby and for him to have someone else keep an eye on her from then on.
Can Sofia and Ian work things out between them?
This was a wonderful book and I would recommend it to anyone.

SEAL’s Pregnant One Night Stand begins the Bronte Security Services series (trilogy) with an intense story full of danger, intrigue, passion… and perhaps the kind of love that lasts a lifetime.

Sofia and Ian were each back-ups for a friend’s first Tinder date meeting, and as it turned out they hit it off just as much as their friends did – enough to give them one night of passion that neither really expected to go any further. Fate steps in when Ian’s 14-year-old son, Gavin, has a seizure at school and his chemistry teacher, Sofia, accompanies him to the hospital. But Gavin’s seizure is the result of tampered drugs and suddenly a bad situation turns worse. And to add to the intrigue, Sofia is pregnant and while surprised, Ian doesn’t deny it and might even get the chance for those childhood “firsts” that he missed by being deployed when Gavin was a baby. Unfortunately, the cartel is involved with those drugs and now Sofia’s life is in very real danger.

Gavin is going through those wretched teen years, yet even though his parents are divorced and he’s staying with his dad, for now, he’s chafing at the rules and protectiveness of his father. Especially after the stunt with the drugs and the seizure. Gavin’s portrayal of that annoyed not quite a full teen yet was so on the mark. Snarly one moment, perfectly polite the next, then back to the surly brat once again. Ian has no real clue how to deal with his son, and frankly, he’s making mistakes that will come back to haunt him.

I adored Sofia. She’s smart, determined, a bit stubborn, and has a heart that’s wide open to these two males in her life. She knows how to get the information she needs, and her actions put her squarely in the crosshairs of members of the cartel.

Ian is all Alpha. He’s falling for Sofia, beyond the baby, but doesn’t always know how to get that fact across to her. He is a protector, and sometimes he forgets that people need more than his protection they need emotion as well. The sizzling chemistry between Ian and Sofia is off the charts. The danger to Sofia is very real and very close.

SEAL’s Pregnant One Night Stand delivers a sexy, lifetime romance unfolding in the midst of emotions on high alert and vile villains making their move. I enjoyed every moment in this world and will be picking up the next story as soon as possible. If you love a solid, good romantic suspense with believable characters, definitely steamy moments, some danger, and a couple to root for then you’ll want to get started on the Bronte Security Services series right now.

Wonderful!

Sofia Popov is going with her friend as back-up on her Tinder date. She sees this hot guy when they come in, but she is not there to meet anyone. When she finds a table and orders her drink the hot guy comes over and introduces himself. He is there as back-up for his friend who is on a first date. Just so happens that Ian’s friend is meeting Sofia’s friend, so they hang out together. When it looks like things are going well with their friends, they decide to get out of there and go back to Sofia’s apartment. Neither is looking for a relationship, but that doesn’t mean you can’t have a little fun!

Ian is a former Seal and is having a difficult time adjusting to civilian life. To make things even harder, he has his angry teenage son living with him while his ex-wife is in Europe for a few months. He can’t believe his luck when he meets Sofia. He is really into her, but he warns her he isn’t in a good place for a relationship. Neither is she, so that is perfect!

Fast forward a month and Ian’s son Gavin, has a seizure at school and is taken to the hospital. When he gets there they tell him he can wait in Gavin’s room with the teacher that accompanied him to the hospital. Big surprise when he walks in and sees it is Sofia. He is grateful that she was with Gavin until he hears what she has to say. Gavin was smoking a joint just before he had his seizure and she has been seeing an increase in teenagers at her school having adverse reactions to their pot, with one death. The police have no interest in talking to her so she is hoping maybe Ian will listen to her. At first he is denial, but when she shows him the joint that fell out of Gavin’s pocket during his seizure he has to accept the truth. As they talk he realizes that his job at Bronte Security Services will be able to help investigate and then they can take what they find to the police and get them involved, and maybe even the DEA. Then she drops her other bomb on him. She is pregnant! He is shocked when she tells him he doesn’t need to be involved in the baby’s life if he doesn’t want to and then she leaves. Talk about complicating his life even more!

As they work their way through their relationship and dealing with an angry child, Sofia starts getting threatening messages. When she still doesn’t back down they burn her house to the ground with her in it. She barely escapes with her life! Things are fast and furious from there on out.

This is an exciting book with lots of action, but also I love how the relationship develops between Sofia and Ian. Both have issues in the past that they must work through if there is any hope of a lasting relationship. Great book!.

Sofia agreed to help her friend Karen out and go to the local bar to making sure Karen's date that night was not a total creep. When it got time for Karen's date to show Sofia went to the bar to set waiting for a signal from Karen that it was safe for her to leave. A friend of the man Karen was meeting sat down by Sofia, he started talking to her. They discovered, they liked each other, but they did not want to start a relationship. Ian however did take Sofia home that night spending most of the night, but he was gone by morning. They did continue to frequently think about one another after that night.

Weeks later Ian got a call from the school that his son was being transported to the hospital after having a seizure. When Ian walked into the hospital room whom did he find, but Sofia as she was Gavin's chemistry teacher. She was left to explain what had happened. Apparently, Gavin had been smoking marijuana in the restroom came back only to pass out having the seizure. Ian could not believe his son was using drugs, Sofia told him the marijuana had fell out of his pocket. As a result she would have to turn it in to the school administrator for disciplinary action, and she would keep a portion to do a chemical analysis to determine if something had been added to the marijuana. There had been an increase in hospitalizations and one death associated with drug use in the last six months and Sofia did not like it in her school. Ian thought maybe Bronte Security Services might be able to help.

Sophia was able to report to Ian and the rest of the Bronte Team that the marijuana was laced with MDMA or better known as ecstasy. Also, she provided the names of the kids that had been taken to the hospital with dates along with the information of the kid who had died. At the end of the meeting, she got Ian alone to tell him, she was pregnant, but she did not expect him to be responsible for anything. That was when the action began as the drug dealer wanted Sofia shut down any way it took, and he rightfully did not care how. Ian wanted to be part of Sofia's life, but he had no clue how to really do that. He had more than enough problems trying to get through to his son, Gavin little lone add a woman to the mix. One as spunky and go get um Sofia to boot.

Enjoy this unforgettable action packed, fast paced read as Sofia goes full steam ahead to take the drugs down in her school even if she was only the chemistry teacher. Somebody's got to do it. When Ian's Team joined that was all Sofia needed. Everyone gets in on the action including Gavin. You will be on pins and needles near the end for sure.

SEAL’s Pregnant One Night Stand is Book 1 in the Bronte Security Services trilogy. It holds you captive with an intense rollercoaster ride of passion... danger... suspense… and maybe just a little of the love that lasts a lifetime.

Sofia and Ian meet up after a chaotic Tinder date. They hit it off instantly as their connection blossoms into one night of intense passion that neither were expecting to repeat. They meet again when Ian's teenage son, Gavin, suffers a seizure due to tampered drugs being filtered through the school, making the situation a thousand times worse than just a seizure would have. Sofia, his chemistry teacher, accompanies him to the hospital where she comes face to face with his father. None other than Ian.

During the hospital stay, Ian discovers that Sofia is pregnant. He tells her that he wants to be involved as he missed out on those milestones when Gavin was little as he was deployed at the time. But there's danger lurking in the shadows as Sofia becomes a target of the cartel and suddenly the pressure is on to keep both her and their baby safe.

Sofia is sassy, smart, and determined (I call it stubborn as hell). She wears her heart on her sleeve and it is obvious that she is enamored by these two males in her life (Obviously platonically with Gavin). She knows exactly what she has to do to recover the information she needs, and unfortunately her actions have set her in the sights of the cartel.

Ian is a full on dominant Alpha. He is falling fast and hard for Sofia. It started with their one night stand, but watching her with Gavin, and with her carrying his child, he is seeing a side to her that pulls at his core. He struggles to show her that he wants her for her, and not just because she is pregnant. He isn't used to showing his emotions and often forgets that people need more than just physical protection. They need an emotional connection too.

Gavin is the epitome of teenage brat. He pushes the boundaries of his protective father, unused to such care being shown to him. He chafes at the rules that are put in place, especially after his seizure. He plays the part of a teen perfectly as he flows through polite, sassy, kind, snarly and contrite. He struggles to connect with his father as Ian doesn't know how to deal with Gavin. It affects their relationship in a large part and will definitely backfire on him.

I loved every moment of this book. It takes you on a wild ride where you have no idea what is going to happen next. If you love a good suspense romance, then you will want to get your teeth into the Bronte Security Trilogy. I can't wait to pick up the next book in the series.

SEAL’S Pregnant One-Night Stand is Book One of Bronte Security Services wow I’ve got to say what a way to start out the series! Sofia is a local high school chemistry teacher went out one night to be back up for a friend in case her date didn’t work out, she ended up meeting Ian who was in the same bar, there for the same reason with his friend. It just so happened that the two friends Sofia and Ian were backups for were each others dates. The chemistry is absolutely off the charts and immediate between Sofia and Ian with them ending up hooking up, they go their separate ways, Sofia then finding out she is pregnant, next her life turns to turmoil as she discovers marijuana is being laced with MDMA and being targeted and sold to her high school students and one death has already occurred. Sofia meets up with Ian again at the local hospital when Ian’s son Gavin ends up being taken to the hospital from school when he had a seizure from the laced marijuana, so when Ian walked into Gavin’s room Sofia was sitting there waiting for Gavin to be brought back into the room from being tested and checked out. Ian walks in and is flabbergasted that it is Sofia the “teacher” sitting there waiting for his son to be brought back into the room. Well he’s about to get a double whammy - next along the way he finds out from their one night stand Sofia is pregnant! Now the roller coaster ride begins hang on to your seats its a rough ride. This is a fast paced action packed book that will hold you spell bound from front to back, full of drama, danger, suspense, survival, mystery, anger, fear, strength, courage, trust, lack of trust, kidnapping, threats, acceptance, romance, and finally love. I absolutely was beyond “into this story” it just drew me in, I felt as if I was there wanting to help but couldn’t. Excellent book! I highly recommend. So pleased to have added to my reading library. I received an Advance Reader's Copy and am voluntarily leaving my honest thoughts and opinions.

This is the first book in the Bronte Security Services series, and what a start to the series.

This is the story of Ian Campbell who is a single dad and a member of the Bronte security team along with his former seal mates Charlie and Eric, and follows his growing relationship with Sofia Popov who is Ian son's Gavin chemistry teacher. After meeting whilst both are chaperoning friends who are out on a date after meeting online. As the friends hit it off Sofia is left without a ride hime and Ian offers to get her home safely. After having troubled upbringing and still carrying baggage they are both happen to loose themselves in each other for what was meant to be for one night only, however the universe has other ideas.

They are therefore both extremely surprised to see each other at the hospital where Sophia has taken Gavin after having a fit at school. Ian is struggling with having his son live with him full time after his ex-wife re-marries, and to discover that his son is smoking marijuana is a shock.
Sophia and Ian join forces to stamp out the drug problem escalating at the school and shortly after Sophia discovers she is pregnant. When he life is in danger, Ian can't stop the protective feelings and his Seal instincts kick in.

Although this is a love story between Ian and Sophia, the Seal mission and investigation of the drug cartel together with Sophia's life being at risk is woven through out. Gavin is a typical teenage and his relationship with his dad is heartbreaking at times. This is a well written story which shows modern day relationships and the growth of the characters adjusting the changes in their lives, both good and bad, as well as the impact of their past experiences on the present.

I couldn't put this book down and thoroughly recommend it. Can't wait to read more in this series.

*spoilers* Ian and Sofia meet when they are wingman/woman for their friends who are aout on a tinder date. Ian states that he is not looking for a relationship but they still go home together and Sofia has the best sex of her life with the sexiest most handsome man she ever met. She wished for more than one night. Fate let them meet again uner very different circumstances. Ian’s teenage son Gavin has a seizure and she is his chemistry teacher who rode to the hospital with him. It is hard for Ian that his son was smoking a joint. Sofia thinks it was enhanced. Being a father to a teenage boy is not always easy on Ian. He was a Navy Seal and is a born protector. Gavin’s mother and Ian are divorced for five years and share custody. Saofia got pregnant from their one night stand. Ian feeld more than responsibilty for Sofia and their baby, even before she tells him about the pregnancy, he feels a special connection with her, even more than with his ex wife and he really likes what he sees, the intelligent, compassionate and proactive woman. He takes charge when the danger closes in on her. When her house is set on fire, she moves in with him. Will they make it through the danger and will they make it as a couple?
This is the first story of the ronte Security Services series and it is very well written. What I really enjoy that this author combines both sides so awesome. There is a lot of suspense going on and means villains. But there is also the emotional/romantic side with the pregnancy and teenage boy. Sofia is a strong woman who does not close her eyes and also is emphatic and welcomes Ian and Gavin. She also is persistent, which puts her in danger. Ian is the protector who sometimes is not so good communicating. There are also a lot of side characters which add to the story.

This was an excellent book that keeps you on your toes throughout and when the main characters work out what’s right in front of them they could maybe have a future together. Sofia Popov is a chemistry teacher who goes out to a bar as a wing man while her friend is on a date and meets the man’s friend Ian that’s there as well to save his mate if need be but the hot chemistry between them is so intense that they end up spending a wild night together with no strings attached and in the morning Ian is gone. This is the first standalone book in Leslie North's "Bronte Security Service" and it is a great start, I look forward to reading about the rest of the team.
She couldn't possibly be pregnant, they had used protection. Science teacher Sofia Popov was backup for her friend Karen as she went on a Tinder date, she was approached by a ruggedly handsome man who turned out to be babysitting Karen's date. Former navy SEAL, Ian Campbell and Sofia had an instant attraction, neither were looking for a relationship, just a bit of fun.
Ian, who now worked for Bronte Security Service, was frantic when he was called to the hospital, his son Gavin had had a seizure at school and who should be waiting there nervously was his one night stand, Gavin's teacher.
Ian's ex wife was in Europe with her new husband and Gavin was living with Ian but Ian was finding it difficult keeping a teenager in check, all he had ever known was the discipline of the navy, he was failing Gavin big time,
When Sofia discovers the cause of Gavin's seizure no one wanted to listen to her except Ian's team.
This story follows the blossoming romance between Sofia and Ian but it doesn't go smoothly, Gavin is having big problems, Ian doesn't know how to cope but neither does he want advice, Gavin was his son, it was his problem, he should be solving it even if he didn't know how.
When it became obvious that Sofia's life was in danger because of her discovery, Ian jumped into protective mode, he would do anything to protect Sofia, Gavin and his unborn child.
This is a lovely story with a HEA.

Sofia went with her friend Karen at a bar so she could meet her date. Sofia doesn’t get out much . She looked around the bar and noticed this man whom she couldn’t stop looking at. Karen’s date arrived. The man she was looking at was gone only to appear next to her. They got to talking and their friends appeared next to them. Ian offered to take Sofia home. Next thing that happened they had an explosive night together. When Sofia woke Ian was gone. They agreed to have one night only. Sofia is a high school chem teacher and one of her students had a seizure in her class. She rode in the ambulance with him. She was sitting in his hospital room when a man walks through the door. She couldn’t believe it but it was her one night stand Ian. He was just as shocked to see her. Gavin was his son. They talked for a bit and she left. Sofia was determined to do something about her students getting hurt from the drugs in the school. Her going to the police put her on the radar of the cartel. Her one night stand with Ian made baby. Her car vandalized and her house set on fire pushed her and Ian together. Ian is guarded with his emotions. His teenage son acting out, his struggling feelings for Sofia he is not sure how to feel. Things change when Sofia is taken by the cartel. Gavin calls his dad and informs him Sofia was taken by four men. Ian and his brothers in arms go rescue her. Ian doesn’t hold back when he lays eyes on her. They both weren’t expected a baby and both they have baggage they have to overcome This was a good story line. Definitely a page turner.

Sofia is out acting as a wing woman for her friend who is meeting a tinder date, but she also ends up spotting someone she likes at the bar.
Ian approaches a woman at the bar, she looks to be friends with the woman his friend is meeting up with. When their friends obviously hit it off and leave the bar, they do the same, with Ian offering Sofia a lift home. This ends up with them having a one night stand.
Later Ian is called to the hospital for an emergency regarding his son, his teacher brought him in because he suffered a seizure at school. However, the teacher just happens to be his one night stand.
Sofia has to tell Ian that his son was smoking pot at school, which causes his seizure. She thinks there was something else mixed with it as other students have been suffering bad effects too. Ian works for a security firm and offers to help Sofia to investigate the problem as the police do not seem to want to take her seriously.
They never planned to be more than one night to each other, but they end up spending more time together on the investigation. What happens when Sofia finds out that their one night together resulted in her getting pregnant. What happens when they find out who is behind the new strain of drugs, especially when their involvement could put them in danger.

I enjoyed reading this book and would recommend it. This is the first book in the series and I am looking forward to the next book.

It’s not all innocent fun.
Awesome book. Ian spent an amazing night with Sofia and didn’t expect to see her again. Even if he can’t forget about her. When his son, Gavin, is rushed to the hospital he’s told a teacher rode with him and he has no problem with that. Then he walks in the room and there sits Sofia. She is stunned to find out that he’s her student’s father. While waiting for Gavin to come back from having testing done Sofia drops a bombshell on Ian. Then they do some investigating and find there’s a serious drug problem in her school and it’s being laced with a deadly amount of a already deadly chemical. They discover corruption in the police department and lab, which ultimately puts Sofia’s life in danger after threats and an attempt on her life. Ian has her staying with him and Gavin while still trying to hide their relationship. Things escalate to epic proportions when three events occur almost at the same time. 1. Gavin catches them in a compromising situation, 2. Gavin disappears and 3. Sofia is kidnapped by the drug cartel. Ian and his crew get her location from an unexpected source. Will they find and rescue Sofia before it’s too late? Saying “Just Say No!” is not not enough talk to your children before it’s too late!.

Sofia and Ian definitely have intense chemistry. They both agreed to a one and done event, but Fate threw them back together and added a surprise gift to connect them. I loved that Sofia is brainy, fearless and and committed to finding out who is supplying drugs to her students. She genuinely cares for the teenagers she teaches and is very much like a mama bear and drill sergeant combined. Ian, a former SEAL now security specialist, is surprised to find the teacher who helped his son is Sofia. He admires her tenacity and drive to find the source of the drugs in her school, and tells her that the security company he works for will help with the investigation. Her surprise pregnancy takes him aback, but he is determined to be a better father to this baby than he has been to the teenage son he feels he barely knows. He struggles to connect with his son after being an absentee father during his years in the service. When it becomes obvious that someone is set on making sure Sofia stops investigating by way of scaring or even eliminating her, Ian moves her into his house. This story then becomes a mix of passion, emotional turmoil and dangerous suspense. The conclusion was very satisfying and wrapped up the storyline very well.

Dominic and Annie meet when they are supporting their friends who are on a date. They leave together and after making it clear he does not want a relationship, just a good time, they spend the night together.
When Dominic rushed to the hospital after a call from his son’s school, he is shocked to find that his son’s teacher is Annie. Although they both can’t forget their night together, they agree to keep it to themselves.
Annie is convinced a past pupil has fallen in with a bad crowd and is selling drugs to the existing pupils and it is this that is causing children to have seizures and one has even died. She has reported her ideas to her principle and the police but they think she is just being emotional!
Dominic is the only person who seems interested in her ideas and agrees to help. After an attempt on her life persuades her to move in with him, for safety especially when he finds out she is pregnant with his child!
Dominic and Annie have a very rocky road to travel, he resents any advice she gives regarding his son and so pushes her away and she doesn’t trust men after her father ran out on her and her mother and even his son, Gavin has demons to slay. I loved how it all played out and although their story ends, it is obvious they have not heard the last from the bad guys.

Swoon-worthy, action packed and fast-paced
SEAL’s Pregnant One-Night Stand (Bronte Security Services Book 1) by Leslie North takes one night of passion and then delivers a whirlwind romance wrapped up in suspense and danger. While Ian never intended to begin a relationship and Sofia never intended to have one period, these two find themselves mired in some kind of relationship. With Sofia pregnant and finding herself in imminent danger, close proximity with the promise of being important in each other’s lives long term, feelings develop and a romantic relationship blooms.
The plot keeps this romantic suspense fast paced as Ian tries to protect those around him. Turns out, Ian protected himself as Sofia protected herself and leaves Sofia vulnerable and exposed.
Overall, this romance is truly action-packed for the steamy chemistry, emotional baggage and the suspense. Bronte Security Services saves the day with Ian leading the charge and finally laying his heart on the line (so swoony!) and wins Sofia’s love and trust with her heart. HEA for this gruff SEAL and no nonsense teacher is garunteed!

A surprise pregnancy and single parent romance. This book actually turned out to be more than I expected.

Ian and Sophia had a relatively smooth transition from their initial meeting to their relationship. I expected a different reaction from Gavin, but wasn't surprised when Ian turned into an idiot.

The book also took a very different turn toward the end. Even after the other issues Sophia had endured, I did not anticipate that move.

There were a number of sweet moments, as well as steamy ones. I was treated tosome child parent conflict on a couple of levels. I also wondered why Ian and Sophia chose to handle their news like they did. It didn't make much sense to me based on how they behaved through most of the book. I was not prepared for the action, danger, or suspense that was introduced into the storyline.

I liked Eric and Charlie, so hopefully they will get their own books. They brought a nice level of wit and humor to this book. Everything resolved itself rather neatly, and Ian, Sophia, and Gavin ended up with their HEA.

When Ian agrees to be the "back-up rescue" for his buddy Eric's Tinder Date, he never realized that his night would get so much better. Sofia and her friend had a similar plan in place but neither thought their accidental meeting would turn into so much more. Ian gets the call no parent wants to receive that his sone Gavin has been rushed to the hospital due to having a seizure at school. When he meets the teacher who accompanied Gavin to the hospital, it's none other that his "one night stand" Sofia. Sofia is such a strong female character who doesn't shy away from trying to do what's right. She gets in over her head as she tries to track down who is responsible for the laced joints that have caused so many injuries and even a death at Gavin's school. Ian steps in to help but she surprises him by announcing that their one-night stand developed into a pregnancy that neither planned on. There is definitely danger, teenage angst, romance and a relationship that shouldn't be as hard as it ends up being which makes this a roller coaster of a ride for the reader.

Ian and Sofia's Story . . .

Sofia Popov goes to a bar to back up her friend, Karen, in case the date she was meeting was bad news. The date’s friend, former Navy SEAL Ian Campbell, sat beside Sofia at the bar and they went home together to enjoy a one-night-stand and she disappeared soon after.

When Ian got a call from the school that Gavin, his son, was on the way to the hospital with seizures, Ian was surprised to see his one-night-stand in his son’s room! Sofia was Gavin’s chemistry teacher and told Ian what happened. She also took a sample of the weed that had fallen out of his pocket and found another drug had been added to it. Other students had also had a bad reaction and one had died. Ian offered Bronte Security Services to help investigate the problem.

When Sofia next saw Ian, she had more news for him… she was pregnant but not asking him for anything. The drug suppliers decided to get rid of her for the trouble she was causing them, so she accepted Ian’s offer to stay with him until the case was resolved. Being together like this, would Ian decide he wants her to be part of his life?

Ian and Sofia met at a bar when they were there to support their best friends on a blind date. Their best friends were dating each other and it was a successful hookup. Ian and Sofia had such a great time talking that they ended up together for the night too. The next day, they went their own way until a few weeks later. Ian got a phone call saying his son, Gavin had a seizure at school and was taken to the hospital. When he arrived, he was told his son's teacher was with him and he walks in and finds Sofia. Sofia explains that when Gavin was seizing, a joint fell out of his pocket. Due to previous drug problems in the school, Sofia thinks the joint was laced with something extra. Being a science teacher, she is able to test it and found high levels of ecstasy in it. Sofie has been trying to get people to listen to her suspicions for awhile. Ian and the security company he works for listen and help her investigate. However some people aren't happy that Sofia is investigating and take steps that could hurt Sofia andthe baby she is carrying.

I don't usually like my romance with suspense... but this was a good book!

School Teacher, Sofia and Ex Navy Seal, Ian meet at a bar where their friends are meeting on a blind date. Once the couple meet and all seems to be ok, Sofia and Ian have a drink and later go home together. The pair meet up a couple weeks later in the ER where Ian's son is taken as he had a medical emergency in his HS chemistry class. His teacher rode over with him to the hospital. Ian is surprised when he enters and see Sofia, his one night stand next to his son. It appears that Ian's son Gavin had a seizure after smoking weed that was laced. Sofia being a chemistry teacher does some analysis of the weed and finds out more than they thought, it appears that a cartel is selling this stuff to the HS kids in the area. Being that Ian and his buddies work for a Security company, they start investigating and things really pick up and get interesting!
I couldn't put this book down, it had just the right balance of romance and suspense and definitely will follow the other books in the series.

Pleasant story 4*
Leslie North is a talented writer and I have read several of her books. This one is an easy-to-read, well-presented story with an ex-seal Ian and Sophie a chemistry teacher as the protagonists. After a very steamy night together, they part ways as neither of them is ready for a relationship. Their lives are interconnected nevertheless, as Sophie unbeknownst to them is the teacher of Ian’s teenage son. Their story takes quite a sinister turn and lands them in the path of a drug cartel. The characters in the book are well developed and well described with good use of language and vocabulary. The novel has a good plot, angsty steamy romance, family dynamics that need improvement, and kidnapping with intention of a public execution. All the elements therefore of a thrilling crime novel that starts off as a steamy one-night stand. What I missed, however, was the suspense. The tension was followed by a predictable, although welcome HEA. An enjoyable book nevertheless, that many will enjoy.

I LOVE THIS STORY! This story is original and has everything to entertain, to be current to real-life situations, to one who's “a not-so-perfect hero” who is confused but trying really hard, to a super lady who is a committed caring teacher. There are dangerous criminals moving into town. They are here to corrupt the young teens Sofia has committed to educating and caring for. She won’t stand for it. She’s a smart unflappable brave lady.
While out with friends Ian meets Sofia and these two lonely people find a connection and act on it. They don’t expect to see each other again but soon meet again when there’s a serious problem with Ian’s teen son, Gavin. The story is intense and well crafted. No blah blah blah just a real good captivating story. This is an awesome way to start a new series.
I loved the strong characters. Very nice ending! I received a free advanced copy of this story from Booksprout. I am leaving my true opinion of this story because I review everything. Linda

The first story of a new series, Bronte Security Services. Ian meets Sofia at a bar with her girlfriend who's meeting a new date. Ian sits next to Sofia and ends up taking her home. They spend the night together, no names, no expectations. Weeks later Ian is called to the hospital because his son has had a seizure. He meets Sofia again as she's his son Gavin chemistry teach. They find that the marijana he and other kids smoked was also laced with ecstasy. She asks to talk to Ian alone and he finds out that she's pregnant. Now Ian and his security team are investigating a drug cartel. Sofia is also targeted by the drug cartel. Ian isn't letting Sofia raise his child alone. This was an amazing story with action, intrigue, danger, drugs, passion and love. I love how Ian and Sofia work toward a life together. I highly recommend this story and am looking forward to the next story in the series.
