This Regency vampire paranormal romance novel contains descriptive love scenes.
Adele Clee writes historical romance mysteries set in the early nineteenth century. Her stories blend romance with intrigue, gothic atmosphere, and a touch of scandal, often unfolding in Regency and early Victorian London. Readers praise her scarred heroines, brooding heroes, and the way love and mystery intertwine across each series.
I liked this one even better than the first in the series. It had what Lost to the Night was missing. A little more dialogue and a better sense that the H&h actually belonged together. Elliot was a less annoying Hero than Alexander, while Grace was more complex than Eve. There was just more depth to this one. I have read everything published by Adele Clee and one of my favorite things about her is her consistency. I think of her 18 works I've only given two 3-star ratings. The rest are 4s or 5s. So, if you liked this book I would recommend more of her books. A Simple Case of Seduction is my personal favorite. WARNING: there is sex in this book, it is not erotica, but enough to be a steamy & hot adult romance. Please do not read if you are looking for something PG. Romance-5/5 Steaminess-3/5 Explicitness-3/5
Poor naive Grace forced to cater to the whims of her older sister. What a role reversal. Typically the older sister is forced to make up for what the youngest doesn't do. This story was intriguing enough that I want to know what happens next but it was just okay to me.
Elliott and Grace's story was wonderful! This is the second book in the series and just as good if not better than the first. Grace is trying to find her sister who has dissepered, so she goes to a ball pretending to be her sister. Elliott knows right away she is not her sister. Poor Grace enlists Elliott to help her find her missing sister but discovers that her sister is not a very good person. I have absolutely fallen in love with these three, sort of brothers.

Adele as always has delivered another wonderful story in the continued series of The Brotherhood
I received a copy of this book in return for an honest review
Not the same story as book 1, and I thought this one was more engaging -- the story involves a playboy vampire who finds a woman who finds out very quickly that he is a vampire, and she likes him anyway.
However, I'm not crazy about the
Same narrator as Book 1, same issues -- mispronunciations all over the place, but mostly ok.
It's official! I'm now a total fan of this genre and am itching to listen to the third book in the series. Grace, even though she was married once before she met up with Elliot, is a totally innocent young lady who found herself in a loveless marriage and hated every moment of it. Oh, she's had sex with her husband but it was totally the 'lets get it over with...' kind. Then along comes Elliot and sweeps her off her feet. He is loving and caring and this is so not him that he feels confused and bewildered about the changes he perceives in himself. There is the mystery to be solved of what has happened to to Caroline, Grace's sister. I loved the whole concept of a vampire's struggle to not be one, the support and help from close friends, the utter selfishness of a family member and the way the story flowed so effortlessly and kept me engrossed. Adele Clee has written a most enjoyable page turner and Kylie Stewart has done a remarkable narration of it. These two make a great pair. At my request I was supplied with a free audiobook by the author and this is my voluntary and unbiased review of it.
Slave to the Night is book #2 in The Brotherhood Series. It is so much better than the first book. Instead of the predictable regency romance kidnapping we get a real mystery that needs solving. The characters are interesting and their banter makes the reader laugh. I thoroughly enjoyed this book and I am glad I bought it. Now, I will definitely buy the third book in this series.
Another wonderful read by the author. Grace is searching for her sister when she pretends to be her to her answers. Lord Markham is supposedly the last person to see her. When Grace goes to a masquerade ball to get answers the last thing she expects is to be rescued by the Lord himself. A wonderful story with a true purpose.
THIS SERIES JUST KEEPS GETTING BETTER! Once again, Ms. Clee writes a dark and hauntingly beautiful love story. Elliot has to come to terms with his need for Grace. Grace has to accept what Elliot is. And together they must travel to where it all started. This book ends with a brilliant cliffhanger and I cannot wait to listen to the next book in the series.
So this second book in The series was not as strong as the first. It started out quite well but I feel like it was rushed somehow at the end. Like it was more important to set the stage for book three than finish the story in book two.
I think this is a really good book. Grace and Elliott make a great team. Her sister Caroline is a spanner in the world but also the means to bring them together.
Another haunting tale of deep love and passion. Grace and Elliott’s story is interesting and enjoyable. The reader keeps in touch with Alexander and Evelyn as well as getting to know Leo better.
I loved Grace and Elliot's story. With its mounting danger and the sexual tension between the H/h, 'Slave' was a great story. I love Adele Clee's writing! 4.5 stars.
Slave To The Night is book two of The Brotherhood paranormal historical romance series.
This is the story of Eliot who becomes enthralled by the widow Grace Denton. Grace has come to London at the request of her sister Caroline, but when when she arrives, she finds that her sister has mysteriously disappeared. Grace reads Caroline's diary in the hopes of finding her and they lead her to Eliot Markham, a dark and puzzling man.
Written in the style of a Regency Romance, this series offers an extra layer with a paranormal twist. I would recommend reading these books in order to get the most from the experience.
This is the second book in the series, I highly suggest you read the first before this. As with the last book, I loved it. It's so much different than the majority of pnr's out there. We meet Markham in the last book, and not gonna lie- his sluttiness was a turn off. This book completely changes his ways, and my views of him. The heroine was lovely. She wanted nothing more than to find her sister, but didn't rush of into danger while blaming others for her rash actions like so so many romance heroines. Cannot wait for the next book.
So glad I discovered this series! The story of Grace and Elliot is not to be missed. Not your normal vampire story! I can't wait for Leo's to be released!
Even better than the first. It was easy for to like Grace because I have a few things in common with her. I love how open-minded she is about Elliot's curse, so opposite from Eve's first reaction to Alex (even if it was understandable to an extent). Elliot's jaded, been-there-done-that attitude was annoying and I like how Grace turned him around just by being who she is. Like a breath of fresh air.
One of my favorite scenes is when Elliot says something awful to Grace then begs her forgiveness, stopping her from leaving his room then realizing how uncharacteristic it was for him to go after someone like this.
Admittedly, I'm suspicious of anything with the word "slave" in the title. But I read it AND I paid for it. 'Nuff said.
