Top quality puritan work this. Very methodical in its approach.
Outlines Satan's devices/methods and then gives remedies/counter methods to these.
Very edifying to the soul.
Recommended to all, but especially those that struggle with assurance of Salvation.

timeless book. the wisdom from this book is saturated with God's word, lived experience and observation of those in his times and those before him. it is dense and meant to be read slowly and prayerfully. definitely advise this publisher or a more modern translation. Puritans write different. . lol

How sinful people continue to be! This was written in the 1600’s but is so current. We all struggle with sin and, especially for Christians, we need to be constantly watching to keep our focus on Christ.
Brooks repeats many Biblical truths but this method helps the reader to cement these truths so we can fight Satan’s attempt to get us to think on ourselves instead of God.
Despite the “thee’s and thou’s” I highly recommend the book.
