An imminent career end and that outrageous swap-o-rama scheme devised by her narcissistic ex-husband, the man she still idolizes, and his immune-to-observation wife.
And let's not forget those despicable dognappers, a cat with murderous intent, to-die-for international desserts, conspiring weasels, cycling ladies, a budding love-interest potter, and the unexpected arrival of a greyhound who just happens to talk ... human. As Portia stumbles through complications and obligations, the latter, as dictated by the dog, both human and canine, eventually discover 'that something' they've always wanted but never thought to expect.
NOT A SELF HELP BOOK - don’t let the title fool you! This is the most delightful book I’ve read in a long time!
The story can be read literally as a great light read but also read with many layers of interpretation that would create a lot of discussion at a book club.
Although a comedy it has just the right amount of tragedy to provide the tension needed to keep the reader flipping pages furiously.
I didn’t want it to end. Looking forward to future books from this author.
A sweet, charming novel about a woman and her dog! Once you get passed the talking dog concept, readers are in for a treat. I caught myself laughing out loud more than once and cheering for both Po and Obie as they both travelled the unfamiliar terrain life threw their way. For anyone who has ever wondered what their pets might be thinking…give this book a read!!
