Memory Guild #8

The Goddess’s Touch

Rate this book
News flash: I’m a middle-aged psychic, not a superhero.

The small city of San Marcos, Florida, rarely experiences murder. But when a human is attacked by the legendary Questing Beast, it threatens to shatter the secrecy cloaking the supernaturals living among humans. That could be a catastrophe for all of us who aren’t normals.

And I’m taking this personally, because the monster was going to eat me. Whom it presumably ate instead was my dentist, and I had an appointment coming up for a root canal. I say presumably, because no one actually saw the beast swallow my dentist. With help from my psychometry, I embark on a frantic quest to find out if the Questing Beast really killed him, and if so, how to explain it to the police.

It’s not the first mythological monster to show up in San Marcos. It won’t be the last. And though the monsters are coming to kill me, a lot of normal humans end up as collateral damage.

Meanwhile, I have a Fae priest living in my inn (and creating an absolute mess). He won’t shut up about the Faerie Queene being held prisoner by a rogue faction of her court. Like, I’m supposed to rescue her? Why me?

So, what exactly can I do, aside from use my newly discovered healing powers? I’d better find out, and fast.

Get enchanted by an alluring world of magic, murder, mystery, and mischief.

Awesome Midlife Continuous Career-Shifting!
Wow! Darla is this kind, married inn owner, who just got her husband back, who she thought left her, has dealt with SO many things in her past couple years, now what the Heck is she going to do with her own dead dentist in her back seat, which she knew nothing about? So she then gets the changeling monster that killed him after her, and she ends up taking a portal to try and trap the monster somewhere else... But that doesn't happen! Even tho she has the Goddess Danu within her, she doesn't know everything, or how to control things yet. Instead, she ends up going where the Fae Queene is being held, and then things start to really heat up!
Once again, Darla gets in more pickles than a pickle jar!
This book is a Wonderful addition to this series. It could be read as a standalone, but so much depth and laughter would be lost!
Thank you Mr. Ward Parker for another Great Story!

Darla is trying to figure out her powers. Danu is starting to become active and help Darla to protect herself. This is a quick paced read with lots of action. Faes attacking and vampires too. Saving the Queen and finding a murderer is just the tip of the iceberg. Wonderful story and excellent series. Can't wait for the next book.

These books are very entertaining

I always assign a actor in my head to help read books easier. The way Darla has conversations with people reminds me of the show Pushing Daisies, and now that I know Darla is singing, she is played by Kristin Chenoweth in my head. I'm really into these books, but more into anything by Ward Parker. He is a great storyteller.

This series gets better with each book! I love all the chaos that Darla has to deal with. Each day brings something new. I absolutely LOVE this series. I love how she has to learn about her goddess powers on the fly and that they continue to amaze her. This such a fun series!

Nothing new here. Unless trying to make getting rid of the monsters more difficult that it shoud be.... if the doors work to send them to the in between why hastle it? Especially when she doesn't want to kill and all it requires is a request?? Pretty bored with it now, it took forever to finish.

Peace?

With Darla's help, the Fae are no longer at war with other supernaturals or humans. She is still figuring out her goddess powers, and now she is expected to repair the Veil. With the help of angels?

Darla is getting more proficient with her Goddess powers. Because of a tear in the veil more creatures are coming through to kill Darla. Darla gets some unexpected help to kill the creatures. Want to know who or what it is? Grab a copy of this book and read it to find out. If you enjoy the Fae, magic and fun, your going to love this book.

I received an ARC copy of this book and I volunteered a honest review.
