Tells you all about the history of Parisian Style, not just what she perceives it to be.
She explains how Paris came to be the Fashion Capital of the world, how Parisian Style is emulated and viewed by the rest of the world. She discusses fashion designers, models, influencers, and people who have created "la parisienne" in the past and present. She discusses the potential future of the city, and how Vogue is becoming more inclusive and ethical. She talks about how Instagram and TikTok have been important for the world's renewed interest in "Parisian".
The book contains a plethora of information about the fashion history of Paris, from the 19th century to the present day. It covers various fashion trends, designers, stores, and more. It is the perfect size for carrying it around and reading it on the go. I would have liked to have seen the book come in a larger size so that I could see the images more clearly, but all in all, I thought it was a great read and would highly recommend it to anyone interested in the fashion history of Paris.
This is a fun, quick read with loads of information on Paris style and fashion history. I enjoyed learning about the important movements in Paris fashion as well as reflecting on my own style and how perhaps it might be influenced by this fashionable city. I look forward to reading more books in this series!
Purchased on a whim in Le Bon Marché Paris. A cute guide to Parisian style, with sub-sections on different French brands that have shaped La Parisienne.
Honestly not that different from the ~5? other books I have on French style.
It's a cute book with pictures. Very quick to read, I just wish it explored some topics in more depth and included more iconic Parisiennes such as Jeanne Damas or Caroline de Maigrette
Vad man förväntar sig av en mode bok om paris. ”jag gillar inte mode, jag gillar kläder” - citat av Agnés. b från sida 85 i boken. Tror dock författaren gillar mode mer än kläder.
