I've spent the last four years in a Catholic boarding school. A very different world from the one I have found myself being forced into. There is a dangerous game being played, and I haven no choice but to be under his protection. He's the king, and expects me to bow just like all the others. The more he demands, the more I resist. He's not just too old for me, or just the president of a motorcycle club. He's my brother's best friend, and if he wants me as his queen, he better prove he's worthy enough for me to put on the crown.
This is an adult novel intended for mature readers. Book 1 of the Knights of Paradise MC Series. Does end on a cliffhanger, part of a continuing series.
Not necessarily a good book, but a good distraction, if that makes sense. Instalove/Instalust and not much foundation. Maverick pissed me off for much of the story because of his hypocrisy. Dragging Tanner away from other guys so she couldn't even dance with them but Chastity could grind on his lap "because he has a reputation to uphold." Kind of predictable that Dani and Tanner are taken at the end. It seems like these books always end by the fmc being taken by the rival club. It's obvious what's happening with Dani and Travis and it's crazy that Maverick and Tanner haven't picked up on it.
MC’s are my favorite so when I heard about this book, I immediately knew I needed to read it. It did not disappoint! I was hooked right from page one. Tanner has lost both of her parents and now goes to love with her brother, who happens to me a part of an MC. She has no clue what any of that is as she’s been away at an all girls boarding school. Not only does she learn all about the MC life, she meets Dani the presidents sister and of course the president Maverick. The tension between Maverick and Tanner is SO Good. It was a lot of will they? Won’t they? Will her bother be upset, cause did I mention it’s his bestfriend too? Add in some drama, and danger.. what more could you need? Already excited for book two!
This held a lot of promise but the author could use a beta reader. Love me a shorter story, but the flipping tenses and telling what went down rather than show had me feeling a little meh about it all.
Concede, Knights of Paradise MC book 1 by S.J. Chaynie
I was given this book by the author for an honest review.
First up, I saw a booktok trailer and was like “HEEEEY GIRL” to the authors. I essentially asked nicely…cough cough begged…..for an ARC of this book. MC is my JAM and it sounded like something I would love. It hits all my favs…Best friend’s sibling/age gap/MC. I was super thrilled when she said YES. I got the book and downloaded thinking I would get a chapter or two in before I put it down to do housework. PFT Housework be damned. Maverick and Tanner had my FULL attention, but I was side eyeing Dom and Dani. Don’t worry I got questions you two!! Now I know people are haters for cliffhangers, but I love them. I really do. So, I will warn you this is a cliffy but it’s a good one. Does that make sense? Prolly not for you cliffy haters. But for real, I loved it and where it dropped at is a good ending/beginning for the next story. Ok so Maverick/Zeke and Tanner/Vix. This book runs you through the gamete. Tanner starts to story as a wide-eyed boarding school virgin with no idea who her brother is and especially what a MC Club is. When the story cliffies, we see a strong woman who know what she wants and who she wants. My favorite scene of the book is when she has had it with Maverick’s shit. For Real!! Our girl is over it and she tells him what is up. It is up to him to make the changes because she is DONZO. But my next favorite scene is when they are bed shopping for his room…Maverick is a dirty dirty boy!!! He plays soooo dirty to get what he wants, and that is Tanner! Maverick is the MC president, and he loves the lifestyle. He doesn’t think he should settle down and honestly doesn’t really have any intensions. However, Tanner makes him want more and importantly makes him FEEL more. The feelings she causes in him are powerful and super confusing to the manwhore. Now Dom is Tanners brother who is all “Hand off” buuuuut dude uhm you don’t seem to be keeping your hands off Mavericks little sister, Dani. Pot Meet Kettle!! I can’t wait to see what happens in book 2. I think Mr. Dom is getting the much-needed eye opener he needs to claim what his heart desires most!
*Idk how i feel about Tanner being barely legal while Zeke was 29 I believe.
*Tanner was a doormat and naive, but I mean she’s only 18yrs old.
*Zeke pissed me the hell off. He’d get upset if other men approached Tanner. Yet he had multiple girls in n out of his room🤢. Tanner would have to witness club girls on him n be silent cause his rep n they aren’t together. Yet anytime another guy came around Zeke would scare em off or tell her brother.
* I understand Zeke wasn’t cheating. My issue is his lack of respect for Tanner. In the beginning I understood him being hesitant n confused about his feelings for her. BUT once he started sneaking into her room nightly n building a bond w/her he should’ve stopped messing w/other women. He made some comment like “She’s different. I’ve been taking my time w/her and can’t rush things” or whatever. My first thought was “yeah you take your time w/her cause you’re still messing w/club girls🤮. It just makes it hard to root for him to end up w/Tanner
*Tanner forgave to easily n there wasn’t enough groveling FOR ME. For every time I had to read about Zeke messing w/another club girl cause of Tanner I deserved a grovel scene.
I will continue but I hope the other fmcs/mmcs don’t read like this. I need less OW scenes. Mmcs who are actually obsessed w/their women n don’t bed OW. I need strong fmcs who know their worth n don’t let the mmc walk em around. Dani sounds more my speed. If her and Travis have a thing I love that she doesn’t sit around while he has fun.
🫶🏼 HEA: No, 🧗🏽♀️ cliffhanger ✖️ Multiple POVs: Yes 🤥 Cheating: No 🎭 OW/OM Drama: Yes!
This is my first book by this author.
This book got me out of a book slump!! I am so grateful for this book because I have been in an awful book slump for over a month and this book was exactly what I needed. The MC, the OW drama and the storyline are all just wonderful.
When it comes to motorcycle club romance there are always a few things I look for: ✔️Riding on the back of a bike ✔️The MMC touches the FMC while riding on the bike ✔️"You only ride on my bike" ✔️Club girl drama ✔️The MMC actually is a bad🍑 but a softy for his woman
This book checked off all my marks and it made me want to keep reading which just shows that she hooked me and she hooked me quickly with this one.
I am so thankful for this book and author and I cannot wait to continue the series.
This is a good story, but it really needs editing. I subtracted a star for errors. It has a lot, and most annoyingly, it does past tense when it should be current, but thankfully, it didn't pull me out of the book. I hope the author fixes before anyone flags it because, from what i understand, that gets the book pulled and is a hassle for the author. So don't flag for that thinking it helps. I heard it's better to contact the author, but i don't k ow how to do that, so hopefully, mentioning it in the review alerts her. I really enjoyed the storyline but wish it didn't have an overall feeling of being rushed. This could have been a 5 star for me with just a little more character development. However, if you are into insta love reads, it'll most certainly be 5 star for you. I appreciated the fmc's virginal status without the doormat personality. I miss fmc's first times in romance since it seems to be a less used trope as of late, or maybe it just feels that way to me since it's my favorite. Regardless, I thought it was handled well
So thankful for a friend who recommended this series to me! This is the first book I have read by SJ Chaynie and won't be the last!
Tanner and Maverick are quite the pair! I loved that they both kept each other on their toes (and on their backs, lol). Totally enjoyed the storyline and that it kept my interest throughout. Really never put the book down once I started reading it. Maverick seems to have his hand full with running the MC, so it's a good thing he has Dom, Widow and all the other members of the MC to help out.
Just a heads up that this book does end in a cliffhanger, so be ready to click the next book right away!
*There are some grammatical errors - which is why the 4 star rating.
This was a decent mindless read. I did read this in one sitting and was intrigued with where Maverick and Tanner's relationship would lead to. Which was exactly where I thought. With this being a short read, I expected it to move fast which wasn't the reason for the three stars. The writing needs some work. I kept getting pulled out of the story because of the use of words being in past tense instead of in the present. I also did not know this would end in a cliffhanger because I didn’t read the full summary. Which doesn't bother me that much, but I just don't care enough to continue with this series.
I really enjoyed the storyline, but there are misspelled words and issues with sentence structure. Some of the misspelled words are correctly spelled words, but they are the wrong word. Whoever is proof reading needs to double check some things through out the book. I am looking forward to book 2.
Really enjoyed this new to me author. Great quick read. You get character development, plot, twists, minor heat, and laughter in a pretty short read. Only a few grammatical errors (proofer/editor) and mistakes, but overall, I really enjoyed this MC romance (yes cliffhanger) and I can't wait to read Dom/Travis/Dani's story next. Definitely recommend.
I love Tanner and Mavericks story. I love how she keeps him on his toes. I was hooked from the first page. I found out about this author through my cousin. The author goes into the store that she works at. I’m totally buying all of her books.
If you love a man that feels he needs to sleep around in order to keep up his prez rep, then this is the book for you. Please explain how being a walking nasty STD makes you a bad a**?? Nasty a** is much more like it. I don’t care what he is described as looking like. Gives me the ick. Don’t waste your bucks.
I have been looking for a new MC series to read! I found this book on TikTok, and it did not disappoint! I read this book in a day and now I’m sad I have to wait for the next book! I couldn’t put this book down and I can’t wait to read more of the series!!!
New Mc series.. Great book. Love the whole age gap. After years in catholic school she goes and lives with her brother. Her brother belong to Knights of Paradise MC. It’s ok but when the President sets his eyes on you. All bets are off. You won’t stop till the last page.
this was pretty good, it was just really short. I think this could have been a lot better if it was more drawn out, but I think it was good and has a lot of potential. I didn’t realize this ended on a cliffhanger so we’ll see if I read book 2
Holy wow this is freaking intense. I absolutely love the dynamic of a strong woman taming the man who thinks he is in charge!! Zeke and Tanner are perfect together and I'm pretty sure Dani and Travis are a thing too. The Serpents royally messed up taking the girls
I’m sorry but this book is bad. The book is about a teenage girl falling in love with a much older mc President. The book reads also like the same teenage girl wrote the book. It has a verrrrry juvenile feel to it.
Scrolling the FYP and S. J. Chaynie's video about this series popped up, and I was intrigued, so I decided to give it a try. This is the first book I have read by SJ Chaynie. I look forward to reading more! I loved this book.
I liked some parts & didn't like some parts. I liked Tanner ( unusual name for a gal) alot as she took no 💩 from Marverick/Zeke/Prez. I didn't like Maverick/Prez as he wanted his cake & everything else. Okay story but won't be reading the rest 💚🇨🇮
Absolutely not, the MMC is 29 and the FMC was 17 and then turned 18 a few chapters in. This girl was still in high school. Everything is a 100% no for me. Also does this man smoke like a pack a day? He is literally always smoking a cigarette.
It’s questionable because she is so young and he is much older but overall I like their story. She is not one to push around and she lets him know. Definitely like her strong character unlike other female characters
well, I didn't hate it. let's start there. I actually liked the plot and the chemistry between Tanner and Maverick. but, I wish it weren't so fast. there was tons of potential here and it just felt rushed. for a short book, it was nice!
