OMYGOSH THIS BOOK!!! Perfect amount of suspense, drama, spicy scenes and thriller. This book was amazing. I enjoyed every second i read it. I didn’t want to put it down. I absolutely LOVE Gio and Olivia’s building relationship. Gio is seen as a cold, mean man but only a select few has ever seen the side that makes him a loving family member. Then Olivia with her traumatic past but doesn’t allow others to make her feel less. She seems quiet and calm but she is FIERCE when it comes to the people she loves.

I must go ahead and give this a 5 star, because I thoroughly, thoroughly enjoyed the characters, plot, location, the twists and turns, that all kept me enthralled.
HOWEVER, as someone else pointed out, the issue of effing the others annoyed the heII out of me. Turned on? That was weakness, imo. Realizing she could not go helIcat on either without getting killed, that situation would have happened but only once were I in her position-- I'd be packed and out that door before they got dressed, never looking back. But then, we would not have the remainder of the riveting story of Gio and Olivia, which I did very much enjoy.

Aura Rose is an excellent author, bringing out feelings and surroundings seemingly effortlessly. I'm completely impressed she has only been writing a few short years. Oftentimes I've found seasoned authors who do not display the same finesse and creativity she has shown.

DNF. I’m halfway through and it’s over 300 pages! it’s droning on and on. Horrendous spelling, and I didn’t like either of them.

I’m sorry but I couldn’t finish it. It dragged on and on and their ‘romance’ was laughable. It’s over SEVEN HUNDRED PAGES LONG!! WHY??? To be fair some parts were enjoyable but because it’s so long it’s repeated over and over and they didn’t seem to be getting any closer to sorting their relationship’ out, as Gio is supposed to be marrying another woman. Gio is the underboss to his uncle who is evil, and treats him terribly. So Gio never makes his own decisions and is ordered round all the time. I didn’t like that.

At the beginning of the book Olivia is 18 and dating Nate who she’s in love with. Her stepbrother is obsessed with her yet she won’t move out into her friends house. WHY? Something really awful happens and it fast forwards to four years later and she’s living in Italy, and has started working as a nanny looking after Gio’s younger siblings. Olivia is so unbelievably naive or stupid, that she has no clue that she works for the mafia. Even though the family all carry guns, has security guards that all carry guns and she signs a non disclosure in her contract. The whole town is terrified of Gio and his family, yet she still has no clue! 🤦‍♀️🤦‍♀️ I wasn’t keen on Gio at first as he’s angry how much he likes Olivia, and wants to destroy her. CHARMING! He even has *ral s*x from another woman IN FRONT OF OLIVIA, who weirdly finds it a turn on. Olivia hates Gio for a long time as he reminds her of her stepbrother. (Not sure why as he’s nothing like him!) it’s insulting to him. She constantly tells him that she hates/loathes him but is quite happy for him to do s*xual things to her. 🙄🙄🙄 Weirdly Gio’s mother has her own chapters, as if it’s not long enough! There are so many spelling mistakes it’s crazy.

The book was fine. The smut was good. Gio was really sweet with Liv & I appreciated the time he spent to make her comfortable & taking care of her. That being said, the pacing on this book made me crazy. It felt like nothing happened for ages and then something big happened and then nothing happened, repeat and recycle. Those lulls made this book feel like it dragged on forever. The switch to the side characters was definitely not for me & while max and cami deserve the best, I did not wanna read their pov in a story not about them. I get it was there to help develop the plot of them being together but there had to be another way to get there without starting a whole other relationship with dual pov inside a dual pov. I spent a lot of this book frustrated with the characters.

Hands down one of my top reads for 2026!! Do not sit on this book!

It has multiple POV (more than the typical 2) the story has so much suspense and thrills throughout the book that you do not want to put it down, I wanted to read every free minute I had. It has Banter, Spice, Love and Affection. It shows family unity.

Gio and Olivia’s love story starts off rocky with Gio being mean and cold hearted and Olivia having gone through a traumatic experience however, it shows that you can make it out of a traumatic situation when you find the right person to help you, love you and guide you. Gio softens up and sees that he can have both worlds, being the tough mafia man but also show love and affection.

Where was this gem hidden??? WOW what a strong start for this series. This was written in a unique way but work so perfectly for me. I didn’t got only POV from main characters but sides ones as well and it fell like reading multiple stories wrapped in one and I’m obsessed with it. We got Max & Camila fall in love and got their HEA, Cecilia my favourite mamma 🥰 working her magic to bring Geo & Liv together, her trauma and also closure and it broke my heart for her and even 1 POV from Henry’s the psycho step brother and Sal other psycho brother and uncle of Gio.

Now about our 2 MC’s Gio & Olivia, the chemistry between them, the push and pull, the angst, the love and hurt/ comfort pure perfection. I loved them so much. I loved that Olivia was sassy and spoke her mind didn’t let nobody tell her what to do, her trauma brought me to tears so many times. But ones she accepted her fillings for Gio was so sweet and full of passion. I loved her relationship with the little siblings.

Gio o dear me that man is so HOT. He is loyal to his family and I absolutely adore his relationship with his mamma and siblings. And when he put his sight on Olivia was game over, he will stop at nothing to get his woman.

I loved our two rascals Sani & Raya and now that I know they will get their own books can’t wait to read them.

This book took me by surprise how quickly I became obsessed with the story and couldn’t stop reading it. So if you love mafia romance, with big cast, plot, twist upon twist then you should read this.

Olivia is so easy to love from the very beginning of the story, she is running from her own dark demons and ends up in a mafia boss' mansion? Some girls have all the luck! She doesn't fall right away for the hot boss but actually goes in to take care of his younger siblings and makes a connection there. Giovanni is struggling to take the reins as head of the family after his dads passing and is really doing his best to be the glue and a pillar of strength for all. The connection between Olivia and Giovanni really comes together so beautifully. I loved the detail put into the mafia storyline, it wasn't just a side note but it built up the surrounding characters and you end up making connections and spiking curiosity there as well. The hot tub scene between Gio & Liv had to be one of my.favs! They dont just end up together and live happily ever after, she has a dark past, he has enemies. It's a fight to stay away from each other and then a fight to stay together. This is not an easy read, dont start unless you are prepared to go for the whole series because there are twists and turns that leave you wanting more.. and the spice is oh so good

I DNF’d this book at 45%.

Unfortunately, I just couldn’t get past how unrealistic the mafia dynamics were. Authors writing about organized crime—especially the Italian Mafia—should do at least some basic research into the culture, hierarchy, and family loyalties involved.

There is absolutely no way Giovanni’s uncle would beat him nearly to death for protecting his own family. In a traditional mafia structure, family loyalty is paramount, and that reaction simply doesn’t make sense.

What was even harder to believe was Giovanni’s uncle, the boss, attempting to choke his deceased brother’s wife. With Giovanni’s father gone and Giovanni serving as the underboss, such a blatant attack on a respected family member would be highly unlikely. The entire situation felt manufactured for drama rather than grounded in believable character behavior.

The constant back-and-forth writing style also made the story difficult to follow. Instead of building tension, it disrupted the flow and pulled me out of the narrative.

I wanted to enjoy this book, but between the unrealistic character actions and the confusing structure, I couldn’t continue reading.

I loved this book. I will admit I read it in phases. I’d read a while.. put it down.. pick it up and read again.. repeat. I’m not sure why. It was probably a ME thing and not the book as I enjoyed all of it. It took a long time to reach the spice but once it did it was 🌶️🥵
There was tragedy.. drama.. humor.. suspense.. healing and romance. It was a full meal deal. I did want to smack both main characters in the back of the head a few times throughout the book.. 🤣🤣
It definitely kept me guessing til the end. Great book.. new author for me. I will definitely read the next one in the series. 🙌

Great Read, but Short Ending...

I'm hoping that we'll get to see glimpses of Gio+Liv's story in book 2, because otherwise I feel cheated! We know they're getting a HEA, but we don't get details.😞

Otherwise I really enjoyed the book, and couldn't put it down! I was screaming in my head at them to not trust a certain someone & I turned out to be right.😠 The pacing was great, and the plot was suspenseful. Their romantic journey & character growth was compelling, and complete with a lot of steam.🤭 It was a great read, but the ending leaves a lot of unanswered questions.😮‍💨😔

Looking forward to book 2, where I hope to also see more of these characters I've come to love!

Brilliant Read

This book had me hooked from chapter 1 and on the edge of my seat till the end. The twists and turns in the story were brilliant, I loved all the the stories connection Olivia and Cecilia had and how they bonded through their abusers! The plot was truly captivating! And I loved the steady buildup of MC love story including Maxs side story- beautiful! But what I loved the most was that the story was kept to one book when it could’ve easily been made into multiple! I don’t see that often anymore. Well deserved 5 stars ❤️

am not a fan of those, if i am reading abt a couple, i prefer the POV to be theirs alone.
the sex scenes felt forced and unnecessary and there were plenty, after 50% mark i started skimming them!

This book was long but worth it. There was a true build up to the love story and bit rushed. Gio was my fav!

My only complaint was the constant change of tenses throughout the book. One minute it’s first person then 3rd. It made it difficult to follow at times.
