I loved every moment of this weird, delightful story!! I laughed, I got teary, and I instantly missed Hugh and Olivia the minute I finished. This book reminded me of every reason why I love YA!!

I was immediately gripped by the idea of someone who wasn't able to die, so much so that the rest of the synopsis apparently didn't even stick with me. Which is why it came as a total surprise to me that This Is Not the End is actually some kind of coming-of-age-roadtrip that takes you through a small part of the United States.

If this sounds a lot like John Green's Paper Towns to you, then you are absolutely right. You can easily find ten things that are very like his story. Personally, I loved that book, and I loved Morris's book too. The combination of the weird 'power' that Olivia has, together with her (did someone say Margot?) and Hugh (did someone say Q? Gods, even their names almost sound the same) and the roadtrip simply make this one hell of a... ride (sorry).
Olivia and Hugh really do remind me a bit - and sometimes a lot - of Margot and Q, and I've always found their characters, and especially the way they interact with and influence each other, marvellous to read. Since Olivia and Hugh are not so different, that holds here as well. It's great to see Hugh slowly changing, just like Olivia - although with her it's slightly less obvious as she's not the POV character. You can slowly see them come closer, exchanging habits and actions.

The other characters aren't too bad either. I didn't really care about Razz one way or another (weird name, too; almost sounds like... Radar), but I loved Ellen - I honestly think it's a shame her presence was mostly limited to the beginning of the story. That is logical, of course, but the relationship between her and Hugh is very nicely written. Every once in a while, I just wish an author would actually make a story in which a good sibling relationship (meaning: siblings that care a lot about each other and have a good relationship) would be the main focus of the book, character-wise. You know, a bit like Frozen .

The book has some twists in store. Not ones that are too big, I'd say, but still enough to make you go, 'Huh - didn't see that coming'. All in all, this isn't an action story either, of course. You just follow the characters on the trip of their lifetime, and it's awesome. As I started figuring out what that prologue was doing there, I also got really, and I do mean REALLY anxious about the ending. Was that justified? Find out for yourself... Although I will just say this: I would have loved the final scene being one with Hugh and Olivia together.

What struck me as well were all the fake 'The Ends' throughout the book, which contained some very bleak endings. A very original idea that probably didn't do much good for my cardiac or mental health, but who cares, right? I just loved those 'what if' snippets, because that's basically what they are. You could compare it a bit with a hallucination or a dream, but then in a very different format, and renewal is always a very positive thing of course.

The addition of all kinds of references to (older) pop culture give it all an extra swing. Although most records that are mentioned here aren't really my thing, I've always been a very big fan of Motown in general, so to see all those names passing in the story is simply a great addition. Extra points.

Honestly, if you've read Paper Towns, that'll make it much easier to decide on whether you should read this book. You loved that one? Get on with this one. You loathed that one? Better leave this one on the side too.

I get what the book was trying to figure with the the whole alternate endings. Hugh has a thing with endings and his anxiety which makes him imagine horrible things happening to people and people dying which I get because me and my anxiety do that too. But the way this was just, it took me out of the story and all the endings Hugh made were just so stupid I was like what the actual hell.
One of them hes sat with Becky after a hookup and suddenly hes going to his parents funeral and saying the past two years wasn't real the end and then the next bit starts where he snaps back to reality. And then it happened again where he and Olivia were sitting by a pool about to kiss when suddenly he realises they're in a snow globe and don't exist?! And it says the end and then he snaps back to reality. That one was just so far fetched. They actually were like dumb movie endings amd after reading the second alternate ending I was just so over it. It was just so stupid and pointless, that it nearly made me DNF but I had to keep reading it hoping there would be so much more but in the end there just wasn't. Like even the storyline of Hugh seeing Olivia fall ro her "death", stitch herself back uo and then her recruiting him on a trip to Newyork to get her crate back, which can I just say was so unsatisfying when it happened and just didn't bring the storyline to life, like it just wasn't worth it. We're told the Crate means a lot to Olivia but beyond being quite literally told it you can't sense that at all.

Here's my other issue with this book. You'd think Olivia being able to heal herself would be a big thing but its seriously downplayed and Hugh after a bit of questioning just accepts it as if this isn't the weirdest fucking thing. Like the book is set up as a normal person, like life we actually live with this supernatural ability and it just didn't work for me. Also Olivia is kind of Toxic...she throws Hughes phone out the window because the constant calling was annoying her, so she doesn't respect what he owns and after like a page he's fine with it...and then she smashes the window to his sister truck they're driving and again thays swept under the rug...like what the hell. Like it was disrespectful but you know they fell for eachother in the end so were just going to ignore it...like NO! Not even the little bit of romance we got was worth it. Just none of it was worth it.

Molly Morris first decided to create a character who couldn't die but she had forgotten about it and turned the book into a YA romance.

This is Not the End was cute and sweet but without depth. I didn't get to know much about Hugh and even less was written about Olivia. The other characters were just names in passing that didn't leave any deep impression.

3 stars, there were some good parts but they weren't enough to make this an entertaining read.

Was für eine optische Schönheit mit einem niedlichen Farbschnitt und einem Cover, bei dem ich fast eine Graphic Novel erwartet habe. Die Geschichte klang vielversprechend und ich wollte sie so sehr mögen. Allerdings konnte ich mit ihr so gar nichts anfangen.

Darum geht’s: Hughs Eltern sind vor zwei Jahren tödlich verunglückt. Er hasst Enden und meidet Veränderungen. Dann macht er bei seiner Mitschülerin Olivia Moon eine seltsame Entdeckung. Ist das Mädchen unsterblich? Um mehr herauszufinden, willigt Hugh in einen Roadtrip mit dem Eiswagen seiner Schwester ein.

Es war schon nicht so einfach in die Geschichte reinzukommen. Den 1. Leseabschnitt habe ich zur Orientierung gebraucht. Dann war ich bereit für den angekündigten Roadtrip. Dabei bin ich dann abr mehr und mehr auf der Strecke geblieben. Auch, wenn ich den Ansatz der Geschichte mochte, so konnte mich die Umsetzung leider nicht abholen. Gute Ideen und interessante Szenen sind hier so verwirrend zusammengeschrieben, dass ich mich gefragt habe: Was will das Buch überhaupt von mir? Das ist mir bis zum Schluss nicht klar geworden. Die Bedeutung von Olivias “Unsterblichkeit” habe ich nicht verstanden. Alles war seltsam diffus. Selbst unter der Prämisse, dass es ein Jugendbuch ist, habe ich die Story nicht greifen können. Ständig habe ich noch auf den Durchbruch gehofft. Der kam aber nicht.

Fazit: Eigentlich ein klassisches Abbruch-Buch, das ich aber für die Leserunde tapfer durchgezogen habe. Ich hatte auch die Hoffnung, der Message der Geschichte über den Austausch untereinander noch auf die Spur zu kommen. Aber irgendwie herrschte hier überwiegend Verwirrung und Ratlosigkeit. Damit bleibt die Erkenntnis, dass dies einfach nicht mein Buch war.

This is not the End ist das Jugendbuchdebüt von Molly Morris über Hugh und Olivia, die sich wider Willen zusammen auf einen Roadtrip nach New York aufmachen und dabei so einige Höhen und Tiefen erleben.



Anders, als der Titel erahnen lässt, dachte ich mir beim Lesen zeitweise „this is the end“, aber irgendwie konnte es mich dann doch wieder fesseln. Ich bin nicht wirklich davon ausgegangen, dass Olivia tatsächlich nicht sterben kann und ich mich in einer paranormalen fantasy romance wiederfinde, aber so ist es und wer hofft, dass dieser Aspekt irgendwann aufgeklärt wird, kann sich schon mal auf eine Enttäuschung bereit machen, aber so richtig scheint das auch niemand der Figuren zu hinterfragen. Genauso wenig wie die ganzen Tagträume von Hugh, die erst am Ende aufgelöst werden, also dass das so gar nicht passiert ist. Wie ihr euch also vorstellen könnt, war ich zeitweise sehr verwirrt. Dazu kam noch das absolut schreckliche und egoistische Verhalten von Olivia und die melodramatische Weinerlichkeit von Hugh.



Jetzt aber mal zu den positiven Aspekten. Das Buch ist wirklich unfassbar gut geschrieben. Ich liebe den Plot und ohne das Paranormale und mit etwas anderen Figuren wäre es bestimmt ein Highlight geworden. Die Stimmung, die Einleitungen in die Kapitel und die Idee finde ich fantastisch und es hat schon eine gewisse Sogwirkung auf mich gehabt.



Mein Fazit: Kann man machen, muss man aber nicht. Es ist ein Buch, das man schnell durchlesen kann und vor allem für Jugendliche interessant ist.

My take;
This was a really fun, sweet read that any YA book lover will adore. If you’ve ever felt like you don’t really fit in, or that you’re a bit different than others, then you’ll absolutely vibe with this book. I loved Hugh, he was such a great main character. I loved his honest reviews on books, movies and music, especially when he didn’t like the endings. But as Olivia tries to teach him, sometimes life doesn’t have the perfect tied up ending that we all wish it had. Life is unpredictable, sometimes life can stop in the… (middle of the sentence, leaving it unresolved and seemingly disappointing. But that’s life, baby!)

“This Is Not The End” von Molly Morris ist ein beeindruckendes Debüt, das mich auf eine Reise voller Liebe, Überraschungen und verrückter (Un-)Möglichkeiten mitgenommen hat.

Die Geschichte dreht sich um Hugh, einen Blogger, der Filme, Serien und Bücher danach bewertet, wie sie ausgehen. Er hasst schlechte Enden – sowohl auf der Leinwand als auch im echten Leben. Veränderungen meidet er, bis er auf Olivia trifft. Olivia ist eine Mitschülerin, eine Außenseiterin und allem Anschein nach unsterblich. Um mehr über sie zu erfahren, muss Hugh ihr einen Gefallen tun: Er soll eine Kiste mit ihren wertvollsten Besitztümern zurückholen. Gemeinsam fahren sie in einem gestohlenen Eis-Wagen nach New York. Auf ihrem turbulenten Roadtrip kommen sie sich näher, und Hugh muss erkennen, dass Chaos und Unvorhergesehenes das Leben bereichern können.

Die Protagonisten sind liebevoll gezeichnet, und ihre Beziehung entwickelt sich auf eine authentische und berührende Weise. Es gibt viele süße und humorvolle Szenen, die man in einem Jugendbuch erwartet.
Die Idee, dass Olivia unsterblich ist, verleiht der Geschichte eine magische Note, auch wenn es irgendwie in der Geschichte so gar keine Rolle spielt und das verwirrt ein wenig. Natürlich ist es die Tatsache, das damit gespielt wird, dass Olivia in diesem Sinne kein Ende zu haben scheint und Hugh von Enden besessen ist und doch wird nicht aufgeklärt, wie es sein kann, dass Olivia allem Anschein nach unsterblich ist. Ich verstehe aber, dass es darum auch nicht wirklich geht, sondern es ist einfach der Gegensatz ist, der so interessant ist.

„Du und ich, wir wären eigentlich Rivalen wie aus dem Bilderbuch. Ich spüre gar nichts, und du spürst zu viel.“ (S. 110)

Was die Charaktere sonst angeht, so hatte ich Schwierigkeiten die Verbindung zu verstehen. Hugh und seine Schwester Ellen sind noch gut ausgearbeitet und auch Dan erlebt meiner Meinung nach seinen Moment, aber die Sache mit Becky und Hugh war mir irgendwie zu flach und auch die Sache mit Razz hätte noch tiefgründiger sein könnte, zumal gerade hier auch noch andere Themen aufgegriffen werden, die meiner Meinung nach nur oberflächlich betrachtet werden.

Besonders hervorheben möchte ich den Motivfarbschnitt und das wunderschöne Cover. Das hat mich erst dazu bewegt das Buch zu kaufen und ich liebe beides. Hugh und Olivia sind absolut gegensätzlich und gleichzeitig wie zwei Seiten einer Medaille, das stellt das Buchcover wunderbar dar.

Ich habe es genossen das Buch zu lesen, jedoch hatte ich auch sehr oft das Gefühl, dass ich es nicht in der Gänze verstehe. Die Sache mit den Enden scheint in seiner Vielschichtigkeit auch philosophisch und ich glaube, man kann viel mehr hineininterpretieren, als ich es beim Lesen getan habe. Auch der Aufbau des Buches (hier will ich nicht spoilern in wie fern) ist echt spannend und für das Thema genau richtig und doch hatte ich auch hier das Gefühl, ich begreife es nicht völlig.

Insgesamt empfehle ich “This Is Not The End” allen, die nach einem Buch suchen, das sie ein wenig zum Lachen bringt, aber auch zum Nachdenken anregt. Molly Morris hat mit diesem Debüt bewiesen, dass sie eine Autorin mit außergewöhnlichem Talent ist. Ich freue mich auf weitere Werke von ihr! 📚✨

Seit Hugh vor zwei Jahren seine Eltern besessen hat, ist er wie besessen von Enden. Er analysiert sie, stellt sie sich vor, ja, er führt sogar einen Blog dazu! Als er dann aber beobachtet, wie sich seine Mitschülerin Olivia nach einem Sturz von einem Dach selbst heilt, fällt er aus allen Wolken. Denn Olivia hat kein Ende. Sie ist unsterblich! Seine Neugierde ist geweckt und als Olivia ihn darum bittet, mit ihr nach New York zu fahren, kann er nicht anders, als ja zu sagen. Doch der Roadtrip entwickelt sich anders als erwartet und schon bald muss Hugh einsehen, dass es nicht die Enden sind, auf die es ankommt — sondern alles, was dazwischen liegt.


„This is not the End“ hat durch seinen Humor meine Aufmerksamkeit erregt. Ich mochte die Leseprobe sehr und so habe ich nicht lange gezögert und es als Rezensionsexemplar angefragt. Doch im Nachhinein muss ich sagen, dass meine Erwartungen enttäuscht wurden.


Das Buch ist weiterhin humorvoll; es gibt viele skurrile sowie süße Szenen. Auch die Idee hinter der Geschichte gefällt mir — an der Umsetzung hat es meiner Meinung nach aber gehapert.


Zum einen gibt es in „This is not the End“ diesen Fantasy-Anteil, bei dem es um Olivias Unsterblichkeit geht. Dies wurde aber so gar nicht erklärt; es hieß nur „Ja, das war halt schon immer so. Keine Ahnung, warum.“, was ich sehr schade finde. Denn es hätte so viel Potenzial gegeben. Stattdessen wurde der Fantasy-Anteil nur angekratzt und hat schlussendlich eigentlich keine Rolle für den Rest der Handlung gespielt.


Zum anderen ist auch die emotionale Ebene nicht wirklich ausgebaut. Gefühle sind bei mir nicht angekommen; der Funke ist nicht übergesprungen. Dabei wird in dem Buch oft der Tod thematisiert — in die Tiefe gegangen wird hierbei aber nicht. Tatsächlich ist es eher so von wegen „Ist halt passiert. Es liegt in der Vergangenheit, also schließ damit ab.“. Das war mir definitiv unzureichend.

Außerdem konnte ich einige Beweggründe der Figuren nicht nachvollziehen. Hugh kam mir sehr naiv vor und auch sonst wurden die Charaktere ziemlich schwarz weiß dargestellt. Während des Lesens habe ich keinen wirklichen Zugang zu ihnen gefunden. Dennoch fand ich einige Szenen mit Olivia und Hugh ganz cute.


Schlussendlich kann ich sagen, dass dieses Buch eher für junge, unerfahrene Leser*innen ist, die noch neu im Romantasy-Genre sind. Erfahrenen Leser*innen empfehle ich die Geschichte aber nicht.

Dieses Buch ist ohne Frage mal etwas anderes. Es hatte mich auf den ersten Blick am Haken: weil die deutsche Ausgabe unglaublich detailverliebt und cool gestaltet ist und der Klappentext ein bittersüßes Abenteuer mit so einiges an Lebensweisheit verspricht.
Zudem fällt es auf so herrlich skurrile Weise aus dem Rahmen. Das paranormale Element, dass Olivia sozusagen Selbstheilungskräfte hat bzw. einfach nicht sterben kann, hat was. Dazu kommt Hughs besonderes Interesse für die Enden von Geschichten, das sich auch an den Kapitelanfängen widerspiegelt, wo Auszüge aus seinen online geteilten Statements zu allerlei Filmenden zu finden sind – und darin, dass das, was er auf dem Roadtip erlebt, in seinem Kopf immer wieder auf die wildesten Enden hinausläuft.

Trotz der aberwitzigen Einfälle der Autorin, dem eigenwilligen Hauptfigurenduo und der unterhaltsamen Erzählstimme (Hughs Ich-Perspektive) hat mich die Geschichte leider recht schnell verloren. Es war mir nicht so wichtig, mitzuerleben, ob und wie Hugh sich von seinen Zukunftssorgen und aus seiner entsprechenden Starre befreit, nicht so wichtig, was sich zwischen Olivia und ihm entwickelt und was der Anfang des Buchs zu bedeuten hatte, nicht so wichtig, was mit dem Eiswagen passieren wird. So schade es ist, ich habe beim Lesen einfach nicht genug gefühlt; die eigentlich hochemotionalen Themen (Verlust in verschiedenen Formen, Angst vor Veränderung, ...) haben mich in ihrer Darstellung kaum erreicht.

Das Buch ist nicht schlecht, aber ich hätte mir mehr Gründe gewünscht, die mich zum Mitfühlen, zum Dranbleiben und Nachdenken bewegt hätten. Statt in die Tiefe geht es irgendwie ins Wirre. So landet es für mich sternetechnisch bedauerlicherweise nur im Mittelfeld.

Und genau das machte mich so neugierig auf die Geschichte.
Wir begleiten Hugh, er hasst schlechte Enden und meidet Veränderungen. Er trifft auf seine Mitschülerin Olivia, mit der er letztendlich zum Roadtrip aufbricht.

Der Witz und Humor des Buchs hat mich angesprochen. Ich musste mir des Öfteren ein Lachen verkneifen. Der Schreibstil ist einfach gestaltet und durch Blogeinträge von Hugh zu Beginn eines Kapitels wird die Geschichte aufgelockert. Tolle Ideen werden eingebracht, auch durch das Experimentieren mit der Sprache. An manchen Stellen war die Geschichte schon sehr hervorsehbar, was für mich aber nicht langweilig oder zäh wirkte.

Leider konnte es mich trotzdem nicht vollends von sich überzeugen. Der gewisse Funke ist nicht übergesprungen. Vielleicht, weil ich "zu alt" für die Geschichte bin, sie für mich persönlich zu viel Fantasy enthalten hat oder ich sie schlicht zu einem falschen Zeitpunkt gelesen habe.
Nichtsdestotrotz möchte ich das Buch weiterempfehlen, für alldiejenigen, die gerne Geschichten über Jugendliche lesen und in eine schöne Liebesgeschichte mit etwas Fantasy-Anteilen abtauchen möchten.

Dieses Buch ist in seinem Schreibstil und Geschichte einfach weird - und genau das liebe ich. Das Cover sowie der Beschrieb ist für mich nicht wirklich passend zu dem Buch und ich kann mir vorstellen, warum es einige Erwartungen enttäuscht hat. Es ist hier kein 0815 YA, es geht tiefer in das Leben der Protas und deren Lebensumständen. Hinzu kommt ein bisschen Fantasy, was ich wunderbar miteingeflochten empfunden habe.

Starten wir von vorne: Hugh geht nicht ans College und verliert alle seine Freunde auf einen Schlag. Daher trifft er eine überstürzte Entscheidung und so beginnt der Roadtrip, der eigentich gar nicht zentrales Thema war. Mit Humorvollen Szenen (ist genau meins) geht es durch die Geschichte und ich habe das Buch einfach verschlungen, weil ich es so grossartig fand. Zudem ist es ohne Spice (seltenheit heutzutage) und deswegen kriegt es von mir für alle Sterne der Welt, weil es eben auch ohne funktioniert.

Weird, spannende Dialoge, doch Tiefgründig und ein bisschen NYC. Von mir eine absolute Leseempfehlung.

Eurghhhhh I finished it. I have no idea what to think. It was a slow read for the first 50% and some of the ‘endings’ were a bit confusing, but then I got hooked and the actual ending was great. I loved the love between Hugh and Olivia but also between Hugh and Ellen.
BUT… I still can’t wrap my head around that the girl couldn’t die business… she’d been like depressed for years and could heal herself, but as soon as a boy rejects her she can get hurt/die… wtf. No man deserves that power over a woman. And the whole book kind of ended explaining his story but hers just ended with ‘I’m moving in with my grandparents’ let’s forget I can/could heal myself?!? Feel like I’ve found a plot hole, because surely she shouldn’t have been able to heal herself when she was depressed after her Mum died if that’s how it works? Unless I have just misunderstood. But I was definitely disappointed there wasn’t a more clear explanation as to how it worked.

I hate DNFing a book as this is only the second one I have had to DNF but sadly i didn’t like it as it was confusing in some parts and when I was reading I was never fully focused on the book I would find my mind wondering and then I’d remember I was reading and have to go back and reread everything I missed This book just didnt grasp me and pull me in When reading a book I want to be so submerged in the plot the characters the settings that I can’t think of anything else and never want to put it down but with this one when I put it down i was never excited to pick it back up and could only bare reading a chapter at a time so trying to get through this book was excruciatingly slow I wanted to like this book so bad but I just felt like I was trying to force myself to like it so overall it’s just a no

Hmmm, das Buch war nicht wirklich schlecht, aber irgendwie bin ich enttäuscht. Irgendwie hat mich die Geschichte nicht gepackt, das spannendste war eigentlich die Tatsache, dass Olivia nicht sterben kann, aber das hat für die Geschichte überhaupt keine Bedeutung, also ist mir auch nicht klar, warum das überhaupt eingebaut wurde.
Hugh beurteilt Bücher, Filme, Leben etc nach deren Ende und kommt irgendwann zu der Einsicht, dass es nicht ums Ende geht, sondern auch um das davor.
Und bei diesem Buch konnte mich beides nicht packen, nicht das Ende und auch nicht das davor. Die Charaktere blieben mir zu nichtssagend, in der Geschichte passiert nicht wirklich was, wenn ich mal dachte, was geht jetzt ab, war es nur wieder einer von Hughs Tagträumen, die mich irgendwann wirklich genervt haben. Für mich hatte die Geschichte keinen Mehrwert und war insgesamt durchschnittlich.

This was 340 or so pages of trauma dumping and weird pop culture references. Every single character sucks and none of them feel like real people. The random supernatural aspect of Olivia having healing abilities and coming back to life was mentioned in one scene that kicked off the entire plot and then never again. Hugh is an asshole, Olivia is a bitch and the side characters are all shitty as well. There's so much self-pity and victimizing it's crazy. Then they hung out for one weekend and they're suddenly in love and healed from all their mental health problems. Hurray! What a waste of time.

Such a beautiful book! I have never read a book like this before. The whole story was incredible and captivating, as well as both of our main characters. Olivia was so loveable in a quirky way, whilst Hugh was loveable in a more broody-teenage way. I enjoyed how this had elements of fantasy/magic whilst really focusing on reality and the lessons we learn through grief, losing the people we love but most importantly endings, and how we cope with them. I think this is the perfect book for any age (young adult +), it was just so beautiful!

When I started reading this book it didn’t pull me in in suspense but as I continued reading, the plot thickened and I was slowly sucked into the story. This story has a really deep message behind it which I think is a really important message for people to hear/read. Reading this story really showed me that it’s not the beginning or end that determines if something is good or bad it’s the middle. And really, most endings are actually a beginning. So overall I think the book was pretty good even though the beginning didn’t grip me straight off the bat.

Brilliant characters and a story that is weird in all the best ways without losing its heart. Ultimately it's a story about how we don't all fit into neat little boxes and how the rush of young adulthood can blur our ability to see that. I love stories that take you on that journey without being obvious, that gently prise open characters until their rounded humanity is exposed. A definite recommend!

They name ice creams after serial killers? What's on offer? A Minty Dahmer? A Ted Bundy Split?

Why are there so many pop culture references? Just stop it, can you not fill the pages with plot instead of movie spoilers every other breath? I might as well be reading tumblr.

I did like the ending about how endings don't define a person's life but it's a miracle I didn't do an Olivia and nose dive off the end of a building reading this book.

This is a good book if you like a small bit of love and whole lot of adventure.
You follow Hugh’s POV if life after his parents died in a car accident. He is too afraid to leave DC after where he is living with his sister. But when he meets Olivia Moon someone who can’t die, is outlook on life changes.

A 7/10. There were parts that frustrated me; there were parts that made me think, made me see things in a different way; there were parts that made me laugh and parts that made me sad. There are books that leave a mark on us, and I think this will be one of them- despite the fact that it’s not one of my favourites. It’s nice to know I’m not alone in worrying about everything!

I found this book really slow and it was at some points just really hard to read. But I did like Hugh and Olivia’s relationship and Hugh with his dad at the baseball game I liked. But this is not the type of book I would want to read again.
