This is the seventh annual edition of the Long List Anthology. Every year, supporting members of WorldCon nominate their favorite stories first published during the selected year to determine the top five in each category for the final Hugo Award ballot. This is an anthology collecting more of the stories from that nomination list to reach more readers.
The Long List Anthology volume 7 collects 24 science fiction, fantasy, and horror stories from that nomination list, totaling over 400 pages of fiction by writers from all corners of the world. From lonely haunted houses to invincible mechsuits, from body-lending gigwork to Fae ransom letters, from space pirate radio to interstellar disputes over art ownership. There is something here for everyone.

Lots and lots of good stuff. I got it admittedly for Rebecca Fraimow's "This Is New Gehesran Calling", a story I edited (very lightly) for its first appearance. I still think it's probably the best in this collection, but i liked a lot of the others, especially the John Wiswell and Alix E. Harrow.
As often happens with anthologies, this had some stories that were a great fit for me, some stories that were ok, and some stories that just weren’t my cup of tea. It’s great to see a wide variety of SFF short fiction out there! The standout story for me in this collection was “Open House on Haunted Hill” by John Wiswell, but there were several other great stories in this collection. Overall, the content veered a bit more heavily towards horror than my preferences, so overall for me, this was 3 stars.
This book contained a range of good stories. Some I enjoyed more than others, but all were well written and filled with interesting characters and locations. I recommend this book.
