Since she was a wee lass, Myra only ever wanted one thing; to follow in her father’s footsteps as the clan’s blacksmith. But a woman working as a blacksmith would create a huge scandal... Indeed, every man and woman has been underestimating the lass except for Lachlan Campbell, the Laird’s brother.
Myra and Lachlan have been close friends since they were kids, and the warrior has been her only supporter all this time. But the news of Lachlan’s upcoming marriage devastate Myra. Now, the lass’ heart feels like a piece of hot iron that was plunged into cold water and will be hard as stone forever…
This marriage is planned solely to create a strong alliance with the bride’s clan. Over the years, Lachlan has fought and risked his life for his brother, but this time, the sacrifice might be too great. Because this time, Lachlan fears he will have to abandon someone he loves to help his brother and clan.
Unfortunately, Lachlan’s fears are soon confirmed as Myra has been alienated, and she makes it clear that she no longer trusts him. As the two begin to acknowledge their feelings for each other, they must either bury them or risk everything to pursue their love. And it is nearly impossible to choose between betraying their clan and their hearts.

Well these Campbell’s just keep growing and growing. Myra and Lachlan found their happily ever after. I loved the characters and storyline so much. On to my next read! 🥰🥰🥰🥰🥰💜💜💜💜💜
Myra Acheson and Lachlan Campbell had been friends for a lifetime even though she was the daughter of the local clan blacksmith and he was the brother of the Laird. Fast forward fifteen years and Myra was achieving her dream of becoming a female blacksmith. Laird Cameron Campbell had decided it was time for Lachlan to take a bride and although he and his wife Cora thought Lachlan and Myra would be the perfect fit, Lachlan felt it was necessary to marry to benefit the clan. He had never even considered Myra as a bride. He never even realized her was in love with her till three women from prosperous clans came to claim him. As they each tried to win his heart, Lachlan realized he would lose his best friend in the process. Would Lachlan realize who his heart really belonged to before it was too late? Loved the book and couldn’t put it down! A happy ever after story.

The duty Lacklan, Laird Cameron Cambell's younger brother, was trying to fulfill was to make a bond with another clan by marrying a noble daughter, as was expected of him. Cameron had invited three such young ladies to the castle for Lacklan to decide which would make the best bride for him. He would announce his choice at the grand celebration of the tenth anniversary of Cameron's lordship in three days. Meanwhile, Myra, Lacklan's best friend since childhood currently working as a blacksmith for her disabled father, was working on forging a sword to give the laird at the celebration. Secretly she was also fabricating a special sword for Lackland as a memento of their friendship which she was mourning the loss of when he wed. This is a tale both amusing and sad that I recommend.
I enjoyed reading this story which has a female blacksmith! They come from different walks in life she is a commoner whereas he has a noble background. They are friends that relationship turns into so much more. Do they have a chance to get a happily ever after? This story had me in their corner! I am volunteering to leave a review for an ARC of this book.
Myra was the daughter of a blacksmith who loved to work beside her father, Lachlan was the brother of the Laird Campbell. They grew up together when they were children doing everything together as they got older their feelings changed to love but knew nothing could ever come of them. Great story
Lachlan didn't know Myra as well as the author originally led the reader to believe. He also was foolish to believe that marrying anyone but her would be best for the Clan.
From being childhood friends to happily ever after. A story of true love that endured through the years and ended in marriage. The Laird's brother the the blacksmiths daughter.
