Dare You to Fight

Rate this book

I’m a rule breaker by nature, but not when it comes to women. Especially the one who lives to drive me crazy. .

Mindy Clark’s fiery temper matches her gorgeous red hair. Going toe to toe with her to get a reaction has become my favorite pastime. The more fired up she gets the more I want to know what sounds she’d make for me between the sheets.

When she asks for my help watching our godson for two weeks, I’m in. It’s not like anything will happen. I’m not a relationship kind of guy, and she’s too stubborn to let anyone close. But as the insults fly, the chemistry between us reaches a boiling point.

I should walk away, but I can’t seem to make myself go. Her sexy curves and sassy mouth light a fire in me that I can’t ignore. The more time we spend together, the more I forget why I made rules in the first place.

This small-town, enemies-to-lovers romance with a stubborn, cocky playboy and a feisty, outspoken badass is packed with so much banter, drama, and heat it will melt your Kindle.

Author’s note: Dare You to Fight is the second book in the OAK SPRINGS SERIES and although it can be read as a standalone, the series is best enjoyed in order. You can start the series with Dare You to Love.

This book has the perfect title. Following Mindy and Frank as they deal with their insecurities and sexual tension for two years driving each other crazy. All starts when they are forced to work together and take care of their godson while their friends are on their honeymoon. This book is sexy and sweet.
MIna Cole does a great job creating the community of Oak Springs, which makes it easy to develop feelings for all the characters. The side characters really add to the story, I do feel bad that Mindy and Frank have taken advantage of/could have been nicer to some characters, but hope good things happen to those characters in future books.
I highly recommend this book and follow Mindy and Frank on their journey of enemies to lovers in breaking down their walls see if they are able to be vulnerable with each other and find love.

I received an ARC and am voluntarily leaving a review.

Mindy & Frank
Mindy is strong and independent. She owns her own shop and is artistic and creative. She is not afraid of boundaries and pushing her way forward, but doesn’t want to put her heart on the line.
Frank is the town sheriff. He’s grown up there his whole life and also has a farm handed down to him from his parents. He is grumpy as all get, but in a super sexy way. He doesn’t let anyone fully in.
Mindy and Frank’s best friends take off on their honeymoon and leave their 10mon old son behind for them to watch. Problem is they do not get along. Trying to find a way to work together is a struggle for them, but what’s an even bigger struggle is hiding their attraction for each other.
They have incredible chemistry that everyone else sees. When they’re together it’s electric, even when they’re fighting. They have struggles they each have to get through to realize risks can come with amazing rewards. It’s a wonderful heartfelt journey to go on with them.

Omg! I am so excited and honored to have received an ARC of this book! I didn’t think it was possible, but guys I love this book even more than the first! Frank and Mindy are so much fire! They fight like crazy, but when their walls begin to fall they can’t seem to rebuild them fast enough. It was pure joy to watch them as they dealt with pasts that were stellar and realized how that had affected the people they had become. Insecurities are strong with both. Can they overcome them and come out stronger or will they fall apart like everything else? Read it and you won’t be sorry!

I read this book as part of an ARC team and giving an honest review of the book. It is a fantastic read! It's hot, Hot, HOT! If you like your stories steamy and sexy, this is the book for you. Mina has written an incredible enemies to lovers story. The characters are so real, I wanted to meet them in real life. Frank and Mindy are relatable characters and you can't help but hope both will find their HEA with one another.
Sheriff Frank Wilson is cocky and obnoxious and always loved teasing and fighting with Mindy. They've known each other for two years and when either one of them is around the other, chaos ensues. Mindy is feisty, and fighting with her has become Frank's favorite pastime. The more time they spend together, the more explosive their chemistry becomes. Mindy is a spitfire and lets Frank know exactly how she feels about him every time they run into each other, and it's not pretty. Mindy has a mouth on her, that's for sure! Mindy doesn't want to fall in love and neither does Frank considering both have been burned in the past. But the more time they spend together, both of them see a side of the other they never knew existed and although they 'fight the pull', they give in to their attraction.

Read it and find out for yourself! You won't be disappointed!

Explosive

These two were explosive in good and bad ways. The one thing I loved about this book was that I was Frank who opened up first. It's usually the girl and the situation was backwards. We got to really see Mindy struggle with herself and try to understand how to cope. We also got to see Frank become a "man" in a sense because he finally made some important life decisions.

This book wasn't just about love it was about growing up, finding yourself, and becoming you were meant to be.

LOVE. LOVE. LOVE.

I've been lucky enough to recently join the ARC team for Mina Cole, and I am so grateful I got my hands on a copy of this book early!

Fighting the Pull gives us the story of Mindy and Frank, who we met in the first Oak Springs novel, Closing on Love. Since being introduced to the two in Closing on Love I have been dying to see what happens with them. Mindy is a sassy, stands-on-her-own-two-feet woman, with a backbone made of steel. Frank is arrogant and cocky, but has a heart of gold and truly cherishes the people he holds dear to him.

Two years of sexual tension all comes to a head when the two are forced to work together to look after their godson. Packed full of fighting, making up, and fighting again... Fighting the Pull is the perfect enemies-to-lovers romance that I for one am a complete sucker for.

Mina is quickly becoming one of my new favorite authors. This book was packed with both emotions and banter. Dare You to Fight follows Mindy and Frank that we met in Dare You to Love. These two have had quite the frenemies relationship the last two years since Mindy moved to Oak Springs. Frank has the typical lady’s man reputation which sleeping through half the twin. And Mindy has dodged all his passes. But when Peter and Kate leave both of them in charge of Jack while they go on their 2 week honeymoon, can these two stop the banter and work together? There is so much growth in this book by Frank, you get his past and see him making some huge changes for the future. But there’s always some bumps along the way. And in the end, Mindy and Frank take the risk. Full of emotions, love, friends, found family, spice, struggles, slow burn, tension, angst, banter, chemistry and so much more. Can’t wait to read book 3.

Thank you Mina for sending us a copy of this book. I really enjoyed it.

This is the second book in the Oak springs series and I loved every second Frank and Mindy are hilarious both stubborn and stuck in their way fighting the battles of their past and allowing it to prevent them from creating a new future.

Frank is the town sheriff and I seriously loved his character and he has soo many rules for allowing any woman into his life that it is actually laughable, That is until he and Mindy are left with their Godson.

Mindy is one heck of a fiesty woman and I loved every second of her but she is seriously fighting with her past issues and is using them like a suit of armour allowing it to hold her back from what could be.

The chemistry between these two just explodes whilst they are taking care of baby Jack and it's one neither of them can ignore.

I absolutely loved reading this second instalment into oak springs and cant wait to read more of Mina's work.

Mindy and Frank

These two. There are too many things I loved about Mindy and Frank to name them all so I’ll just say, they’re story is phenomenal. Frank is seriously swoon worthy and Mindy keeps you on your toes the entire book. I loved it.

Fighting the Pull is going to be one of the hottest books you read this year.

While Closing on Love, Mina Cole's debut, was a sweet small town romance, Fighting the Pull is the spicy enemies to lovers that you need in your life. The character development was excellent and the pacing was perfection. 5 stars!

Fighting the pull shows the story of Mindy and Frank. Throughout the book they have to deal with their own insecurities until the tension between them becomes too much. I love the romance that is included in the book and how strong the characters are. If you love strong, independent hero’s then this is the story for you.

Amazing enemies to lovers book! I couldn’t put it down. The back and forth of Mindy and Frank was so suspenseful. One minute they disliked each other and the next the chemistry was off the charts. This seemed to stem from an incident a couple of years back. What could that have been? They had to take care of their grandson while Kate and Peter went on their honeymoon. Boy was that fun watching how they got along. At first it seemed like Frank and Mindy weren’t going to be able to work together to take care of Kate and Peter’s son. Mindy seemed to be taking care of their godson herself. Frank finally stepped up to help. Both their hearts are guarded because of past relationships. Can they get past all that? Frank sure looked like he put a lot of effort into getting Mindy to break her walls. Mindy wasn’t so sure about Frank though, after all he was kind of a playboy. Wait til you find out what happens in the end! Will this hot and cold couple become just a steamy, romantic couple?

This book was steamy! Mindy acted like she hated Frank but she really loved him. She couldn’t even tell her best friend that she was into Frank. They are good together and the love scenes were really steamy! Loved the ending. You also find out what was troubling Frank. This was a good read. I received a free book and the views and opinions are my own.

Yay Frank and Mindy! Book 2 is a slow burn, enemies to lovers story of Kate and Peter's best friends. I love how the two found their true selves while finally admitting they were each other's person. There was alot of internal monologue that I found frustrating sometimes because they would go back and forth in protecting their hearts and building walls, but they eventually communicated effectively and let go. The spice is nice, but expect it much later....so much build up but worth it in the end.

The ending was so satisfying. Frank and Mindy have always been frustratingly stubborn, but they worked hard for their HEA, and it was worth it.

Mindy is a feisty badass who is used to doing things for herself. She runs her own shop. She is not afraid to put herself forward in business, but she protects her heart when it comes to relationships. She does not put herself out there for fear of being hurt.
Frank is the sheriff in Oak Springs. He has grown up in the town so everyone knows him and doesn't hesitate to tell him about anything. He's attracted to Mindy, but he's also grumpy, so Mindy isn't sure where she stands with him. They spend 2 years just revolving around each other without really getting involved. When they are called upon for babysitting duty for their friend's 10-month-old baby for a period of time. Of course, they disagree about everything for taking care of the little one. But the more time they spend together, the more they aren't struggling about the baby anymore; instead they are fighting their attraction to one another.
This is such a cute story and I loved both of these characters. I was really rooting for them to figure it out already!

I first learned about this author when I got Book 1 in the Reveal book box. I enjoyed the first book, saw it was a series, and ended up buying book 2 a few months later. This one was more explicit than I remember the first one being (though that could just be the time delay between reading the first and the second). Frank is a fun, well-developed character, Mindy, our main character in this one was slightly less so. I'd even go so far as to say she was more actualized in book 1 as a side character than she was as a main character in this one. This was a 3.5 rounded up, because while there were not plot holes, there were a lot of situations that were glossed over in favor of writing sexcapades over conversations, which would have done a lot more to further the plot. I'm still interested enough to get the next book, though it'll probably be a few months before I do so. I'm a bit backlogged atm.

So it was slow in the beginning and kind of hard for me to get into the story.
But once I got into it, it was really good. However, I did come to hate Mindy. I mean she wasn't the worst and I did like her. But she liked 3x about being with him and opening up. She said she would open up and give him a chance, give THEM a chance and 3x she pulled back.
It was the last time though that made me hate her. It was so dumb too. I understood her fears. But he had already proved himself by this point and she believed him. She was happy and in love with him. But damn, I understood why he felt like she was ashamed of him and I couldn't agree more with him. She was being ridiculous. lmao

I really did enjoy the story.

I wanted to really love this book but after awhile Mindy’s behavior seemed childish. Yes, I know she has had a trauma and a hard childhood. However that can’t define you for the rest of your life. Frank was really putting himself out there and trying to be better and it was never enough. It was starting to exhaust me. I wish she would have spent more time talking about her fears instead of second guessing Frank or trying to hook up. Ending was good. Would have like more groveling since men normally have to grovel so much.

Oh, wow. This book is simply explosive as Mindy and Frank are finding their way to a HEA. When you have a very strong woman that begins to fall for a man that doesn't let people too close, the emotions are going to be flying everywhere. Toss in a 10 month old and you have uncontrolled chaos. I absolutely adored this story!
