Miranda, amnesiac and riddled with bandages, finds herself reawakened in the lab of the infamously talented Dr. Viktra Mordenheim of Lamordia. Through Viktra's scientific help, Miranda begins to who was she before she met such a terrible fate? And what exactly does Viktra have to gain from helping her?
An okay start to a spin of Castle Ravenloft. Very short, kinda stiff dialogue, and the drawings are good enough, but don't really lift the story. Unrealistic actions at times, It's a lame detail but still annoyed me.
I just want to preface this with the fact that I know pretty much NOTHING about any Dungeon and Dragons stories, and I know nothing about Ravenloft. Which I think is a campaign or something? Really, I know nothing. So far, the comic seems to be setting up an interesting mystery. There is Miranda, a mystery girl with no memory of who she was before waking up in Dr. Viktra's lab. Miranda wonders who she was before and why Viktra is bothering to help her at all. There was also an interesting scene at the end of the volume, and a cliffhanger that makes me want more of this comic. It's hard to fully judge a story from only reading 29 pages of a comic series. My interest is piqued, and looking forward to reading more of this series!
Oh gee, an issue of a comic book where a character is brought back to life, told not to leave from where they have been locked up in, and shenanigans ensue. Never seen that done before.
Also, there's another story that was placed right alongside this one that features a mom fighting off the creature from the black lagoon, so.... that's cool, I guess. Does that mean each issue is gonna have a completely separate story for me to read right alongside the main plot? Well that's definitely not gonna fire back on the writers here, especially when I inevitably end up loving the individual stories over the main plot.

I got this as a prepub of this and so glad. This book was amazing. Curse of Strahd is my favorite campaign and this is such an expansion to the Ravenloft world itself. To see more domain of dreads was inspiring in ways I can use it in my future campaigns. The story was compelling and artwork amazing to picture emotion. And I love the character development in each character .
